Here we are again.
I am glad DD still wanted to go to school this morning. All weekend she kept telling me that she was scared about the lock down drill they had at school Friday. It's such a hard thing to explain to a kid. And for one that already has an extremely vivid imagination telling her he has to practice something just in case something bad happens really sends her imagination into overdrive. I sent an email to her teacher asking if there was a way that I could get advanced notice when they are going to do the drills to try to prepare DD for what is to come when it happens again. We'll see what happens. I feel so bad for her when it comes to this stuff.

I went in for 2 stupid hours today. I've officially been to all schools now. I'm kind of annoyed the other lady decided to cover the secretary for lunch so I missed out on half hour but whatever. It was so damn hot today. The kids were kind of wild too. If I had to choose the best group of kids I'd want to work with, I'd choose DS' elementary school. I wonder if that will change as he gets older though. I like the little kids. Older ones are way too wild.

Freakin great....I just got notification that the school practiced another lock down drill today. Why they did two days in a row is beyond me. Hopefully DD's teacher will get back to me today on being able to notify me in advance. I have this feeling that they won't, but I am hoping.

I'm doing monitor, parapro, & secretary right now. Mostly, I'm getting called in to be a monitor which is during lunch/recess. I just put in to get my license to be a sub teacher since all you need is a bachelor's degree in any field here. I like that it pays more & it's more hours so hopefully that works out or they may just never call me to teach & keep me what I am since that's what they're in dire need, who knows.

What reason is there to do it twice in a row? This is where my overactive imagination kicks in and starts to wonder if there is something going on in the community that they are concerned about and wanting to make sure the kids are prepared for. HAHA! Poor DD gets it from me.

Maybe they messed up the one Friday so they had to redo it? Hopefully if you can't get notified ahead if time at least the teacher or counselor will be able to help her a bit.
