What's ne fandom you just can't get into no matter how hard you try?
For men it's Doctor Who. DH lives it, so i suffer through episodes for him, nut it just doesn't do it for me.

Hunger Games.
I've tried, but the first book couldn't hold my attention and I can't stand Jennifer Lawrence.

Stranger Things. My husband just doesn't understand how I wasn't interested in it. I watched the first few then told him he could finish it on his own.
I should probably give it another try though. I was pregnant when we tried it and I tend to not like anything remotely dark when pregnant.

Sleepy Hollow was it for me. The television series they did awhile back. I wanted to like it so much. It was just meh for me though.

Kind of half-related but I don't understand the buzz around HP and the Cursed Child. I had such second hand embarrassment when I read it.
I also tried Doctor Who but....it just didn't do anything for me.

I also hated cursed child lupincat. It was a very badly written fanfic to me, and I actually tweeted that to JKR 🙊 I can't get into anime/manga. I tried but I just can't. Weirdly enough I love me some D.C./Marvel.

Most DC comic stuff. DH loves Justice League, Batman and Superman media, etc. I just can't get into any of it. I find a lot of it too serious. I did love Wonder Woman though, and I'm willing to give that upcoming ensemble movie a try because the trailer looks fun.

The movie is good! I'm kind of worried they're going to beat it until it's a dead horse with, what like, 5 movies I think JKR said? But she knows I'll see them all. Dammit.

The ending kind of made me scratch my head though. It felt pretty forced. And I still feel conflicted with all the American Wizardry stuff. But I don't want to miss out. I've been all in on HP for years. Ravenclaw til the day I die.

athn64 Yes, finding out about how she phoned it in and ripped off native cultures to make her American houses has taken some of the shine off JKR, but I also know that I can't quit HP.

Ill admit it, I have never seen Stars Wars, I watched episode one when I was young and ever since then I have just been meh. I get the sentioment and I just feel that I kind of know most of it so meh. But I will also say its a point of contention between my H and I.
We call it the Wedge Salad conundrum. He swears I will love something but I resist until its recommended by someone else ala Doctor Who. To be fair he does it me as well, its our thing. So Im sure if I actually watched it would be on, lol

Buffy is another one for me. I've tried a number of times to get into it, because I have loved most of the Joss Whedon stuff I've watched. But I just can't seem to get into Buffy.

But you can't make a SW judgement based on just the prequels. Because they aren't in the same galaxy of good as any of the others.

I love the early seasons but can't get past season 5 on a rewatch. The introduction of Dawn just doesn't work for me. Do you like Angel?

I love Buffy but I started watching it with a friend who loved the series in college. I'm not sure I would have liked it or even started it on my own. athn64 I also despise Dawn. So unnecessary...

Then I will let H laugh and say I told you so.

Also haven't watched Angel. Another one I can't get into is Friends. Everyone loves it, I just can't, though.

I love that show and have every season on DVD, but it is so grounded in the 1990's and early 2000's that I think it just doesn't fit in 2017. I think if it isn't something you watched when it was pertinent, it can be difficult to get into now. I actually think Seinfeld is the same way.

lupincat I actually love Seinfeld, but I can see a lot of people coming to it now for the first time with a 2017 mindset and not liking it.
