I updated the weekly check-in thread, but they scheduled my induction guys!!! We go to the hospital at 4am on Tuesday! The widwife that delivered DD wants to deliver me again, so they moved me to Tuesday instead of Monday - I'm fine with that. I am super comfortable with this midwife and she knows all about the history of my delivery with DD. I'm more excited than I thought I would be to schedule an induction! Also, if anyone has experiences of having an induced labor after having a natural labor - I'm all ears! My brain is mush and I can't remember if you had any complications, so I'm sorry if you've already mentioned, but why are they inducing this time? I was induced with my first. I'll spare you my story depending on why they're inducing you lol Nothing too crazy with my first. I had to be put on oxygen during pushing and DD went into distress, causing them to have to cut me (helping to start my 4th degree tear) to get her out of me. It went from a "slow and easy" deal to "get her out now" deal pretty quickly. According to last week's scan, this baby is already measuring a pound more than she was when she was born. So they are inducing based on his size and because I pretty much begged for it haha. If I have my way, I'll have him vaginally and not CS so considering his potential size helped make the induction decision. (I'm aware the scans can be be inaccurate, but I have no qualms with them taking this baby a week early.) Now, do I want to hear your story or not?

DS had his nights and days all mixed up. After a few good nights of sleep he was up every hour to hour and a half last night. Today? Like clockwork, he's been sleeping 3 hours, eating, sleeping 3 hours. I had two appointments today, so I haven't even been able to take advantage of a nap.

seventythree , uh oh I didn't get the memo about hot showers! I knew very hot baths are a no-no but I lurv my hot showers. I think hot showers are okay, as long as you aren't taking super long showers. It's the whole "raising your core temperature" thing they're worried about, from what I understand, which is why hot tubs are off-limits. Yes, I think this is it! Sorry bootsorhearts1, didn't mean to alarm you! I can't keep all the restrictions straight sometimes, plus humidity is one of my worst nausea triggers (first bout of MS I had with DD1 was after a hot shower, I didn't know I was pregnant yet and assumed I was hungover), so I avoid terribly hot showers right now anyway. Chalk it up to a case of crossed wires... pregnancy brain FTL.

Uggggggh, DD has been fighting her nap for about 90 minutes. MH is away at physio, I slept like crap last night and reeeeeeally wanted to take a nap myself but I'm way too paranoid to let myself fall asleep before she does. Plus if she doesn't crash at some point soon I just have to call it a failed nap and get her up. I did NOT factor something like this into my caffeine intake budget for today

It's my second to last day of work tonight! Saturday is my last day, and I'm so excited. Definitely going to miss it, since I won't be going back to work after this baby, but I'm ready for a break. I've also had a pretty productive day here: Laundry, dishes, organize/purge stuff in bathroom closet, and baked brownies. The brownies are supposed to be for my meal shower tomorrow night (church ladies get together and make freezer meals for us), but I've already eaten a quarter of the pan. Luckily I planned ahead and bought 2 boxes (because I knew this would happen)! So I'll just make more tomorrow and bring them, along with the leftovers(?), to the shower.

My coworkers threw me a small little work shower this afternoon and it was so sweet. Got lots of sweet gifts and some good shower food!

I asked at my appointment last month. But I can schedule my AS for early November as soon as I can remember to actually ask for the dang appointment.

I give my cat plastic drinking straws because he loves to chew on shit, and they're one of the few things we found that is pretty harmless for him to chew on (fabric he chews in half and eats the pieces, same with hair ties). Anyway, we've been doing this for a while now and today that a-hole came up and took the straw out of my glass of water. It's dead now.

Guise! I'm getting discharged. 😀😀 I get to see DS in a little while! My contractions have tapered off and are sporadic and with nothing else the doc just came in and asked if I wanted to go home. Yes please! 👏👏

Earlier today I was thinking that I hadn't heard anything about the pump I ordered through insurance. I got home and it was on my porch.
Today was picture day at school and DS's came out so cute.

thatgirlrachel I also chose to be induced. It was just incredibly long and taxing. Took a full 48 hours. I won't bore you with the nitty gritty details because as we all know, every pregnancy is different! The good part was, when it finally came time to push and my epidural wasn't working (back labor/DD came down on a nerve) I channeled all my rage into just pushing her out and it worked lol. Made it a bit easier I told myself this baby could stay in til college, I'd like to avoid being induced again at all costs, but damnit I'm just so over being pregnant this time around! My doctor also told me today that inductions are usually faster the second time around. I wish I could enjoy it more bc it'll likely be my last, but at this point it's become more of an inconvenience than joy. I know that's terrible to say, but it's how I've been feeling :/

I just had the most comical diaper changing experience with DS. Adventures in boy mom Parenting for sure. Took 4 diapers and some unfortunate peeing all over to get it done.
He seems to be having a reaction to his diapers. I pulled his off this evening and he's all red exactly where the diaper sits. They're Pampers Swaddlers, and DD never had a problem. We have his follow Up with the ped tomorrow, so I'll definitely ask about it.

Haha, mkrupar that fire hose pee gets the best of us. It's like you're asking yourself if that's pee as you realize that yes it is.

mkrupar, yup been there, been peed on. HAHA! It's girl diapers that are scaring me. There's so many more nooks and crannies to clean. On the diapers - try a 'sensitive' brand (target has a store brand but I'm sure there are others) or some kind of natural brand like seventh generation. Most diapers have perfumes in them to help cover up the smells and ittle bits can be sensitive to them.

Neither H or I have sensitive skin, nor does DD, so sensitive skin issues are new to me. ETA: girl diapers are NBD!

mkrupar, that makes me feel a little better! I'm just trying to imagine a poopy blow out that comes out the back AND THE FRONT. I think the key is to remember the 'front to back' wiping thing right?

I'm a hot, swollen, uncomfortable mess today, but two weeks from now I'll have an outside baby!!!
Today I found out that a local photographer does free maternity mini-sessions the last Sunday of every month. You also get 1 free picture. I've always wanted a good maternity pic, so that's my plan for Sunday.
