Still no more news from vino ? Anybody talked to her the last day or two? I've talked to her, but I don't know what's going on. She was the recipient of multiple close ups of my face until she responded. lol.

flamingo, Ours does not, but at the end of the year (right before graduation) they ask parents to drive the four-year-olds to a local nature preserve and parents, teachers and the kids have a big picnic instead of class.

Last night we went for a walk in the "empty neighborhood" which is a neighborhood right next to us that was cleared for development a decade ago but never developed. It used to be so peaceful because you could take a walk "in the woods" but it was paved with a lot of open space to explore. They are finally developing it at rapid pace and it stinks that it won't be a quiet place for a walk much longer.

Dude is a booger Eater. Gag. chrisy01 are you going to have to see a doctor? Glad you're a little better this morning, trtlcrzy. No. I'm feeling better just a cough. I'm pretty sure it's just my body expelling all the crap from the past two days. Boss knows I'm sick so they won't question. Plus she made the decision to keep me home. Small office easier to pass germs.

Morning! joelies toddlers are such klutzes, it's ridiculous. Ryland has a huge scape next to his eye and I don't even know how it got there! Nothing much here. I vacuumed and mopped the house already this morning and I need to start packing for my trip tomorrow. I have a spray tan at 9:30 and I need to make a target run. I'm hoping I can hit target before my tan because I always look like "tanning mom" until I can wash all the excess color and bronzer off.

Our DC does field trips during the summer program, but only for the older kids. I believe they have a rule of you have to be 4+ to ride their bus.

Morning ladies! It's been a busy week around here. 10 more days of the fiscal year and then work will die down again. Can't wait!
Both kids have a deep cough, but pretty infrequently. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse. We got a note from preschool that there is a kid with a compromised immune system in the class so to be extra cautious of illnesses. Soo.. what does that mean? Any time N has a little cough or runny nose I'm supposed to keep her home?
Heading over to a friends tonight for a little girls night an looking forward to it! DH has been gone the last 2 nights again so I'm ready for a night to myself.

Morning. Preschool for ds, we have our 'end-talk' next week. All the feels. They say he's more than school ready, he needs new challenges. We noticed 😉. Dd is still a snotty mess and the contractor isn't cooperating. On the plus side, I bought a dress for dd that I'm in love with and I love our new fireplace!

PW here: do any of your DCPs or preschools do field trips? Old one did. Like zoo, museums, pumpkin patch. Not or new one though.

Daycare just called to tell me that Dude was stung by a bee. I guess they're just going to keep an eye on it since they said he seemed fine after they cleaned him up.

Ok so the field trip thing...our new preschool does them, I think 3 or so each year, for the 3s and 4s. They have the parents volunteer to drive and chaperone.
First one is to a local 'farm' next month with a pumpkin patch, hayride, etc.
I guess I'm just a bit squirrelly about the other-parents-driving thing? Idk. Everyone has to provide their DL and proof of insurance. Maybe it's not much different than if there were a church van/bus and I'm just being paranoid. Or if I knew more of the parents personally, maybe I'd feel more comfortable. So I volunteered to drive and chaperone on the first trip to kind of see how things go. I was just curious how other places handle it.
Our last preschool did not do field trips for the younger kids, only the Pre-K kids, as I believe they went on the church buses. So this is all new to me.

So this is all new to me. H's preschool last year was part of the YMCA, so they used a 15 passenger van and then another minivan that was owned by them. I'm pretty sure only the teachers drove and went with. I would be a little leery of other parents driving too.

flamingo, so they have to put their car seats in your car? I don't think so. On the sign up sheet this morning it asked how many carseats you have, and how many seat belts. (We have 2 carseats so I guess that means I can take B plus one other child? Siblings aren't allowed to attend). Although I guess asking how many seatbelts could also mean they're inquiring if there's room for additional car seats?

PW here: do any of your DCPs or preschools do field trips? Yes. Our DC does field trips - they have to be in the 3s class and potty trained. Most of them are over the summer (he had 6 or 7 this summer) but they have a trip to the pumpkin patch next month. They cost extra, so not everyone goes, but most kids do.

So this is all new to me. Ours go on school buses since it's basically 3 classrooms of kids, so like 70 + kids. It is weird having others drive your kids, and I would think they would need a billion parents to go, since most can't fit more than 2 car seats per car. They do ask for parent chaperones, but they are supposed to drive separately.

xolastunicornxo I feel like trying to figure out how to arrange my hair-washing, spray tan, and errand schedule before vacation is harder than calculus. Right? Like you have to make sure you get everything you else (waxing/hair/manicure) done before the tan, and you want the tan as close to the event as possible... but you don't want to be doing a ton of running around while your tan is setting. It's a very first world problem, but a problem nonetheless!!

I'd think that's a huge liability, no? Can you decline the field trips? I mean, you can, but B is already super excited about it. Hence why I volunteered. I'm kind of curious if it will just end up with all/most parents tagging along to drive their own kid. ETA: this preschool has been around for 50+ years so I'm guessing they've been doing this for awhile and I'm probably not the first person to be iffy. I might inquire with the director and just see what she says.

Re: field trips, I wouldn't want to drive kids I don't know, personally. Nor am I very interested in fighting with their car seats to make sure they fit in my vehicle.
The whole thing sounds weird.

All of this. It would make me feel uncomfortable in all angles. I would volunteer to drive my kid solo.
