Hi friends, what's happening today?

Yesterday was our first full us at our house with no one else day in over 2 weeks, so of course I woke up feeling like death. I think it's a combination of exhaustion from traveling and a sick baby sharing germs.
Mh works Sun-tues with a possible pickup on Wednesday night. His parents get here Thursday. I'm struggling so so hard right now, R is also sick and needy. I think I'm going to have to ask mh not to work Wednesday night, I just need one day, just one. Okay I'm done whining, hope everyone is having a good Tuesday.

I need today to be better than yesterday. Work has me stressed. I have off next Tuesday and can't wait to have a vacation day.

Oh boy meeggaannw. I'm sorry for all the struggle right now. I think you gotta ask your H for Wednesday, you just gotta. You've held everything together through the displacement - you deserve a day and some help. ((Hugs)) lady. Yay for a vacation day soon peaseblossom55! I hope today is a better day for you.

Not much going on here. Long day of work ahead. I'm in the office tomorrow (my usual work-from-home day) because of a big team meeting.
DH's godmother volunteered to babysit tomorrow night so we could have a date night, so that'll probably be the highlight of this week for me.

meeggaannw, I hope you get a break soon, at least a nice big cup of coffee ((hugs) peaseblossom55, sorry about the work stress but yay for some time off.'' ellabee, how awesome, you got a sitter, a date night is much need around here too, have fun! Today is preschool day so me and that baby are going to get somethings done. My husband is working from home so its always a good when he's here. Not much else going on so I might spend a good chunk today helping my husband look for jobs.

Current mood: Walmart is making me rage. I don't ever shop here but I do print one hour photos when I need them. NO LONGER. They were suppose to be ready at 10. I arrived at 10:30. They moved their photo place to the back of the store from the front so it's no longer a quick trip. Plus it's the parking lot from hell so they already had one strike. I have to wait with the electronics customers instead of a dedicated photo person who always kept the line moving. The photos aren't ready I'm assuming since they couldn't find them. I've been here 15 minutes and they couldn't find them but the guys just disappeared into the back. Wtf? Tell me how long. Tell me you haven't printed them yet. Don't leave me out here with two borderline fussy kids. RAGE. Also, I really have to pee.

Spoiler: my photos aren't ready.
Evidently the technician is off today and will not be back until Thursday. They can see my order in the system but can't do anything. But it might be ready tomorrow. For starters, tell me this up front after the first ten minutes of waiting and searching the drawers for my photos. Also, why accept the order if your tech isn't here? Small potatoes in the grand scheme of life but it's really irking me that I wasted 30 minutes there and I have to go back for 15 photos.

It's so frustrating when you feel like you're going to get something checked off your to-do list but it turns into a fiasco.

Hiii! Monday dominated me yesterday so I'm hoping Tuesday will be kinder. M is off to daycare with a cough and runny nose but had big smiles when I left her this morning. My 6 week old nephew (plus my sister and BIL) is coming to visit this weekend so I need her to be better asap! They're staying with my parents but I want to be able to hang out with them all weekend without infecting my nephew! meeggaannw you have every right to be struggling right now - you've had so much stress on you and still don't have a return to normalcy with your visitors coming. I agree that asking your H to not work Wednesday seems like a good way to get some help and sanity. Lakes that would make me rage! Such an easily avoidable situation but now your time is wasted by incompetence!

Lakes yep bedtime started 30 minutes early yesterday at my house. Tonight I only have an hour and a half from the time we get home from work/daycare until bedtime so shouldn't be as bad. Wishing you easy bedtimes and a big glass of wine once your house is quiet! Question for the 2nd timers - do you do bedtime at the same time for both kids? One after the other? Totally different times? We bathe the kids together and then each take one for pj's/books/bottle and they're both in their cribs around the same time. This makes it a little tricky when there's just one of us.

When I'm solo I do bath together, pj's together, then I set DD up with books or something quiet to do while I go in the other room with B to give him a bottle and put him in his crib. DD's allowed to sit with me while I put B down if she promises to be quiet. Then after B is down I do books and snuggles for DD before tucking her in.

carrots we tagteam bedtime so it's basically the same time. Bath nights: Mh gives kid 1 a bath while I prep diapers/pjs/toothbrushes while entertaining kid 2. Then kid 2 goes in the bath and I dress kid 1. Who gets a bath first depends on whose more cranky. Not bath nights: we each take a kid to change. I try to get the baby because there's less wrestling involved 😉. We join up for brushing teeth since that's normally a two person job and then read 1-2 short books. Lights out for toddler and baby goes to her room. On days that the baby is really tired she goes down first and misses bedtime stories. Solo: I gate ds in his room and tell him to play while I put the baby down. Then I attack him for bedtime. Then I drink wine.

ellabee hooray for a date night! What are you thinking? Just a casual dinner out I think, nothing fancy. I don't think there are any movies out that either of us are dying to see.

Oh yeah carrots - my time saving tip is to brush the toddler's teeth while they're in the bath. This eliminates 1 more trip back to the bathroom for me.

Solo Parenting FFC: tonight is suppose to be bath night. I'm skipping it. I'll just wipe them down with a washcloth and call it a day. Since having two kids Mh hasn't been oot more than two nights so baths haven't been a big issue. Hopefully it stays that way!

The toddler is currently dunking his head in the water table. That counts as having your hair washed right?

carrots - we also tagteam bedtime. And yes, when only one of us is home for bedtime, it's basically a shit show. The big girl is parented by the tv until the little one is down for the count.

DD1 (3) takes a bath every other night. Baby A gets a bath like, once every 4 days?

If I could, I would skip bathtime when I'm solo but DS is so incredibly dirty and sweaty after daycare that I don't even want to touch him haha. So zero judgment on the baby skips! Glad to hear solo bedtime is as much of a shit show for everyone else as it is for me!
