Nothing planned today, so we might walk over to the park this morning. Other than that I'm cleaning and catching up on laundry. Exciting, I know..

I'm in planning mood. Trip this weekend and then home for two days before we leave for Portland. So many lists to make.

Guise i just can't anymore with less than 5 hours of sleep.
A is still saying that she is "hearing a noise" when she is sleeping, thus not wanting to stay in her bed. She wants to sleep in our bed. When we take her back she cries hysterically and wakes up C. Who will not go back down but wants to be rocked. And you rock him to sleep but the second you stand up he wakes up and rinse and repeat.
We have tried bribes, we bought new bedding this weekend that she picked out, we have used threats, and pleads. Nothing works. I don't' know what else to do besides lock her bedroom door. It's not monsters. She says the noise is someone walking. Or it is outside. I think she is dreaming.
And the kicker is, I don't give a F if she sleeps in our bed. She's 4 and she won't do it forever. It's my h who gets all bent out of shape about her being in bed with us. So much so he moves to the couch. And he doesn't want to sleep on the couch. But it's not him getting up with her in the motn, it's me, cause she doesn't want him. I am over. I am out of ideas. I need guidance. And sleep. Lots of sleep.
tl;dr - My 4 yo keeps waking up the entire house because she wants to sleep in my bed. I miss sleep.

Tuesday! Getting the new generator today, watch out world, I am so exciting If you lived here that is pretty exciting, considering the last 2 weeks. They are in high demand at the moment.

We lost power for 10 days with Irene and then again from the derecho for another 4. And then another 5 with Sandy. I will never lose power again. We have a generator, but it's not compatible with our new electric panel, so we had to get another one that we can just plug into the switch for the panel. Boom, most of the house power

Decent night of sleep last night, no big plans for today. Laundry and taking the kids to storytime. Midwife appt this afternoon.
We've lived in our area since DS was born, and have no local friends. Making friends as an adult is hard! I woke up this morning to a text from the mom of one of G's preschool friends, asking if we'd like to have a picnic at the playground with them tomorrow. I like her, and her 3 kids are close to the same ages as mine.

RunsforWineandCarbs , have you tried a white noise machine? Either in A's room or even C's. I used one (and continue to use it) because Littlest is a longer sleeper and it at least drowns out Little being loud. ETA: Little gets in bed with us in the middle of the night. But DH and I both don't care- we figure it won't last forever either. On the random day he stays in his room all night, we make a big deal out of it but then he says "did you miss me?" Not really, kid. We've also talked about getting a bigger bed because of this. Well that and DH wants a bed where his feet don't hang off.

I'm supposed to start my period today. Fingers crossed. I've had a couple more pains that feel like RLP. Of course, I've been exhausted but I think that's related to stress. Right? RIGHT??
I haven't mentioned to DH that I'm worried about this. I have 1 more test but I'm waiting until later in the week if my period doesn't show up.

Or use 1 to put C down and then move it to A's room for the rest of the night.
Yep, that's my plan for now - let's see how this $30 works first before spending another $30.

RunsforWineandCarbs, I like it! Are there doors close together? You maybe able to put it in the middle and turn it up. That MAY work.

skinandbones I'm guessing you are just having some different kind of period cramps. I'm team you aren't pregnant. But I hear you about being scared. I was always afraid I was pregnant when On the pill or the iud because I got pregnant with the pill. Even now, with H snipped I still freak out sometimes. Lol

skinandbones, yes they are close - that's a brillant idea! jedi, no to the couch. Her sleep problems started when I was pregnant with C. We started on the couch. It's a major improvement she starts out in her bed until about midnight. Then she wakes up and wants to come to our room. Some nights she sleeps just fine but most nights not. I forgot to mention i was so upset last night that I kicked her out of her bed at 1 am and put her in time out for waking C up. I am not my best when i am over tired.

RunsforWineandCarbs, give yourself some grace. I think every one of us have done something in the middle of the night we aren't super proud of just out of exhaustion. I'm team do whatever works so people get sleep. And if DH can't get onboard with A in bed (if that's what you decide to do) then he can get up in the middle of the night with the kids. If he isn't going to be a part of the solution, then he doesn't get a vote. Harsh and possible unpopular...

Lol I'm 95% certain I'm not pregnant (logically speaking) but I'm letting my imagination get the best of me. Once I start my period, DH and I will be having a serious conversation about him getting the snip. DH doesn't want to have anymore and I am having a hard time wrapping my head around making things permanent. But I think this has tipped things.

skinandbones not unpopular at all. And I agree. Many of us have done something we aren't proud of.

1 of 4 two year molars are in. Maybe this is why my child hasn't been eating like normal. Thankfully, it doesn't seem to effect her sleep (though maybe that is why she ended up in my bed for the majority of the night once last week). We brush every night, but rarely does she let me get a good look. Last night was one of those nights after she feel and cried "teeth"! I don't think she hurt any teeth, but she let me get a good look. Pretty sure the others aren't too far behind.

Mom managed to get her dog to take the steroids and even eat some ground turkey yesterday. Though she is very lethargic and not doing much on her own (they had to carry her outside to use the bathroom most of the day yesterday, she got better in the evening). She is going to spoil this dog until the very end and the other dog is getting jealous of the attention. Please, let this dog make it through today though. My mom's dad died 11 years ago today so I know she's already emotional about that.

I'm trying to pay attention to a webinar and nothing is sinking in. Hoping that I can save the PDF file of the slides to look over it again later.
