I'm on tapa so no actual poll but:
Who's done with the 4 month sleep regression? Who's deep in the throes?
How many weeks is your LO?
How did things change? (No naps, waking up more often, won't transfer...)

I ask because N is 18 weeks and I don't think we've started yet. And I can't remember what it was like with DS

Caboose over here...four months tomorrow. We haven't hit it yet but I'm sure this thread will give me nightmares.

I think we're through it at it wasn't too bad. Right around the 4 month mark H had a couple of weeks rough sleep at night. Frequent (2-3 hourly) wakeup where he'd cry until.i could resettle him. Maybe 5-10 min each time. This coincided with my return to work so it may have been that. We're back to normal now which unfortunately still includes at least 1 wake up to nurse if not 2. Anyone else still not STTN? DS1 didn't have a 4mo regression so maybe you'll get lucky Lakes

We are in it, but I think maybe coming out. 4 months yesterday. He has been able to put himself to sleep his whole life except this past week, where he needed major assistance (going to bed and also motn). He did put himself back to sleep a couple times last night and with naps so far today so fx we are through with it.
We need to figure out how to break the swaddle now that he's rolling though, so I'm sure that will bring a whole new set of issues. One arm is ok, but we've tried 2 arms a few times and his startle reflex is still too strong.

We are coming out of it, I think? A is 20ish weeks (but still in that godawful wonder week because it goes by due date, which puts her at 17). I'd say the past 4 weeks have been rough- hard to put her down, and no STTN (with 3-hr stretches being the longest). Last night, though, she slept 11-6:30 as her longest stretch, which was great. Now we just have to get naps back on track. bazinga DD1 didn't sleep through with no wake ups until a year, so the 1-2 I'm getting now seems wonderful! Hah!

Who can tell anymore over here. Sigh. We may be in it now but the crappy sleep may also be due to his ear infection and congestion. I don't know what it is but I want it to stop so we can all sleep.

I totally forgot about this sleep regression, R is 5 months tomorrow so we must have missed it. She get ups in the morning around 5:30 to nurse and then goes back to sleep. The last few days we are trying to transition her into her crib and that's not going well, she only sleeps for about 15 minutes at a time and then I just put her back in the cosleeper after a couple of hours.

I *think* we are coming out on the other side. R turned 5 months yesterday and in just the past couple days he has started to turn a corner. It was both naps and night time sleep, he used to be a 2-3 hour napper, put down wide awake and walk away. Regression hit and he needed so much help napping and naps lasted 25-40 minutes max. Night time sleep took a hit too, fought going to bed and woke up super frequently. He doesn't eat overnight so it was just settling him back to sleep but it caused for a lot of not quality, broken sleep. Another thing that has happened is he has become a very reluctant Eater, he went from 6 oz bottles to fighting to get 4 oz in him. Just in the past couple of days he has started lengthening his naps. Night is getting better and eating still sucks but I'm optimistic.

M went through started a couple days after she hit 4 months which was also when she got really good at rolling back to belly. It lasted a week and she would wake up multiple times overnight bc she had rolled over or wanted to roll over. I always just let her fuss and figure it out on her own. I think the longest it took her was 45 minutes (she was not crying that whole time!). There were a couple days where she just skipped one of her naps entirely bc she couldn't settle. She's back to her normal sleep now. Since the regression is all about babies needing to self soothe, I prefer not to intervene if possible. silvermelody DS never showed any signs of it so maybe you'll get lucky!

What is the rule? Never talk about baby sleep? Well yeah he has taken two 30 minute naps today, so that's fun.

I mean, we had a few MOTN wake ups when I went back to work but I assumed it was due to hunger.
DH just has her nap in the swing.
She isn't rolling yet though. She did one belly to back today but I think she just got lucky with positioning

I think we are in it pretty deep. He has been a hellbeast at night for the last week and he does not want to nap but if he doesn't nap he is even crankier! He also has been struggling eating on the boob, pulling off and such, I wonder if it's related.
I have started being more structured at night and I think that is helping. We are now on a routine that 30 minutes before bedtime I take him into the bedroom and turn off all lights besides the table lamp and I put the white noise machine on. I cuddle and sing songs for about 10 minutes and then just quiet snuggles after.

I never know if E is more on target with her actual age or adjusted age. She had a bad time sleeping end of April/early May when she was just 6 months ( 4 adjusted) it took awhile to get her back to sleeping well. I don't know if that was a leap or her regression. It was painful though, then we made the transition to the crib so that was another bad period. I think we are finally on the other side and most nights she has good sleep.

We had a couple of days where I thought we were starting about 2 weeks ago. Last week on our trip she sttn every night, with one of them being 11 hrs with 1 wakeup 😳 Naps have been mostly short here for a while unless she's really tired. We vary from usually 20-40 mins with a rare 2 hr one sporadically. We still swaddle, and I absolutely dread giving it up. She is not interested in rolling at all so I hope I have time.

bazinga we are also in the not sttn club. I'm not sure if we are in a regression or if my kid is just a bad sleeper. He is one week shy of 5 months. I recall one magical night, on Easter, when he only woke up once. Otherwise he wakes 2-3 times a night. In the past few weeks it's been up to 5-6 times a night with periods of inconsolable crying. My legs are sore from bouncing so much.

Anecdote, ALL of C's long stretches are swaddled with noise. She has only slept for longer than an hour unswaddled the first few nights home when I let her sleep on my chest. Those were 2 hour stretches 😒 all other unswaddled sleeps are 20-60 mins, usually under 40.

Some nights I think we're on the other side of things, but then B proves me wrong. It doesn't help that pretty much every weekend we travel and B does 2 nights in the packnplay.
On average B goes down around 7:30 and wakes once in the 2:30-4:30 range. If he wakes at 2:30 he'll wake again around 5:45 and snuggle with us in bed for about an hr. If he wakes around 4:30 he'll usually go until 6:30ish in his crib.
I can sometimes get away with the paci for his motn wakeup. I'd love to wean him from that feed just because I think it's more out of habit than actual hunger.

I thought we had sleep regression, went from one wake up to 2, then it was every 1.5 hours... then it turned out he was ill and after a course of antibiotics we have had the one wake up only once more.

A started STTN around the time I went back to work at 12w, i think. She's 4.5 months now (19w), and this last week has been waking up in the MOTN once or twice. But I just feed her and she goes back down.
I don't remember DD1 having one.
