At 7:30am mh reminded be that he's out of town Monday and will be back after bedtime on Tuesday. I vaguely remember him telling me this months ago but he didn't put it down on the calendar so I'm grumpy about it. I need to stick up on wine and fancy cheese in preparation.
I might try to get a haircut this weekend. We have no real plans and it's driving me crazy.

Twins Lakes. My H has the same trip Monday/Tuesday. I'm home with the kids on Mondays but already decided I'm sending them to daycare for half the day and taking some me time + running alllll the errands. My neighbor hosted happy hour for our moms group last night and some of the moms convinced our husbands to do bedtime while we went out to dinner after. It was so fun to have a spontaneous night out! And M slept until 6:30 which I definitely needed! M and I are heading to brunch with my bffs in a few and we have no other plans this weekend. |

This chick just jacked up my bangs. I wanted to shorten my nice and gradual side swoop bangs but she made them more abrupt and not gradual side swoop. My hair grows fast so I'm not super upset but I'm rewarding myself with a iced salted caramel mocha.

Nothing too major going on this weekend. E has swim lessons at noon. I need to run some errands too later this afternoon. I wanted E to go down for a nap before swim lessons and she is fighting it. 😠

Oh boo for not getting the right haircut Lakes. Frustrating. Yay for a night out and good sleep carrots! I'm on baby watch - SIL was induced last night! I can't wait to see my brother become a dad. |

Hi ladies! Sorry I have been MIA, it has been a rough go of it. I'm about 2 hours from home, getting home from evacuating for Irma. It has been 2 weeks since I left for a short weekend at my brothers house. I am exhausted.
Mh flew up to North Carolina to help me get home with the kids, we stopped at my brothers house last night to sleep and get all the stuff I left there when I evacuated. I am so so ready to be home. We also finally have power but my parents don't so they have been staying at our house. I'm happy to help them but I'm really ready to be alone in my house.
The kicker to all of it is my ILs, who I just spent the week seeing, are coming down on Thursday. They are staying for a week and then 6 days later mh's brother and family of 5 will be here for 2 weeks. I just want normal and it's not coming anytime soon.

Holy smokes meeggaannw I was really hoping that by you already having seen them for the evacuation that they would reschedule their trip. That's too much family togetherness, even if you 100% adored them.  |

The bangs are perfectly normal and look fine but not what I wanted. Such is life. I'll just wear a head band for a couple weeks. The coffee was worth the momentary disappointment! |

We did some hiking at the arboretum and had lunch at the diner. Nothing beats a diner grilled cheese and fries! Now it's naptime, hopefully for everyone.

Yeah I'm not thrilled. There was a chance we were going to be without power until at least the 22nd and they were still going to come. Mh doesn't understand why this would be an issue.
Also just for fun R cut 3 teeth during this trip, woke up so many times through the night but I couldn't let him cry it out because of the sleeping situation. He has some sort of teething related snotty nose/ congestion and what is shaping up to be pink eye. I developed a rash all over my arms and upper body on Sunday that I still have and itches so much. I was thinking it was stress, and it still could be but it's been about a week and not going anywhere. I just want to sit in a shower and cry by myself.

I would like to cancel mh's business trip. Or at least reconsider how much wine I'm buying today. Ds is sick and grumpy. He was up earlier then normal but I think dd woke him up. Dd is teething and is probably getting ds' sickness since she's working on a runny/stuffy nose of her own. She was up every hour from 3 or 4. Plus I stayed up till 11 watching Poldark.  |

I'm going to Trader Joe's tomorrow to stock up on wine and delicious snacks to make it through my H's work trip. M has pink eye and a runny nose and doesn't want to sleep. Luckily my SIL is a dr and called in a prescription for the pink eye this morning. Two babies at daycare had it last week so that was pretty easy to diagnose!
No plans today other than retrieving the chest freezer from my parents house.

Oh also M and I got rear ended yesterday and insurance is refusing to replace the car seats. Not looking forward to battling them on this one but my mama bear rage is strong!

So I'm doing some cooking and making finger foods for E for the week. I wonder if things like beans/tofu will freeze and then defrost well for her to eat. I was hoping to make enough finger foods to get her through the week. I don't think the tofu and beans will last a whole week in the fridge. I am not sure. How did you handle finger food prep? I don't think I have the energy for daily food prep.

peaseblossom55 for DS I would usually make a few different things to last us a couple weeks and then freeze. That way he wasn't eating the same thing every day and I didn't have to prep something everyday. This in between purées and table food feels like the most work to me, especially with daycare prep and just thinking of things to make! I've only been sending purées to daycare but need to step it up.

peaseblossom55 I do daily prep for finger foods because I'm usually giving dd what I'm eating or something fresh, like she's loving avocado right now. Or something that's already in the freezer like blueberry waffles. I never thought to freeze finger foods like purées, report back on what works the best please!

carrots I am so sorry you got rear ended, that is incredibly frustrating, especially since insurance isn't cooperating! Fx they get it together soon!
