I think it depends on the style you are going for. I personally like professional photos to be a little more formal so I would do a dress and polos or button downs with shorts.

Agree with weddingAnd please stay! I'm excited to follow you adoption journey. Good friends of ours adopted 4 kids due to IF. Two separate siblings sets. My parents were foster parents when I was young so it's always interested me.

I also just reread and saw it was for adoption. I would go more formal.

Would your agency help you look at how other families did their photos (formal vs casual)? I also lean formal, but I'd want to know if there is a "market practice" within the adoption community before making a decision.
Also, if "formal" really isn't something your family does, I'd maybe take that into consideration. I'd want to feel comfortable and happy taking these photos, and whatever is going to make you guys shine is what I would probably do.

When my sister did her book she had a mix of formal and super casual. The one on their first page was one I took of them on the Storybook boats at Disneyland. Good luck.

I was going to say this (minus the Disneyland part). Can you do an outfit change and do some formal and some casual? I feel the casual tends to do a better job at catching the essence of a family.

What about like "business casual". That's kind of what I go for with our family pics. Nice but not dressy.

I usually like to do dressy casual. We're not formal by any means, but do like us to look put together. I usually do polos/button downs for the boys with jeans and whatever I'm comfortable with whether it be a dress or dressing up jeans or leggings.
Whatever will have you comfortable and bring out your family's "happy" is most important. I hope the shoot goes well!

I would want to look nice, but still look like myself. Does that mame sense?
I think as long as you can tell that you put effort into your profile book because it's important to you and your family, that's what matters. Good luck!

Aw when you get them, if you're comfortable, you should put them in our private group.
