+eleventy to loving chickpeas. My MIL puts them in a lot of her cooking. I like it in her spiced rice and also with ground turkey. guster When I studied abroad in Greece (a million years ago) I never saw lettuce in salads there. Just feta, onion, tomato, olives. Maybe cucumber? I can't remember.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. The cake machine was operational today. It goes without saying that, in order to make up for lost cake, I ate two pieces of cake at lunch. I had both the double chocolate cake and the pumpkin cream cheese cake. Omg please describe in detail what the pumpkin cream cheese cake tasted like. It tastes like being hugged outside on a brisk autumn day, with leaves on the ground and the scent of cloves all around.

Happy birthday Landon! Am i the only one that has never heard of roasted chickpeas? Stupid question maybe, but how does one roast them? The trick is to get them really nice and dry first. Rinse then roll around on some paper towels to get off all the water otherwise they won't crisp up nicely.

I've been to Greece a few times and this is the only way I know it, feta, tomato, cucumber, kalamata olives (those purple ones) really good olive oil, lemon and often dill... mmmm I want one now!

My friends are Greek and own a couple restaurants around here. Their Greek salad does not contain chick peas.
Another large Greek restaurant here had lettuce in their Greek salad.
But I feel like most restaurants in the states Americanize things. The Mexican food is usually Tex mex & not authentic Mexican, etc.

I've also had some friends that lived in China and the Chinese food we eat here is not the same that they eat there.
Also depends on where in China you are.
