Lol kleigh I love throwing stuff away and my H is also the opposite. Every single time he gets a new pair of shoes he wants to keep the box because "it's a good shape to put stuff in" and "you never know". WUT? So I go behind him the next day and recycle it. Repeat for literally everything. Everything. H just keeps all his old shoes... He says that he can use them for yardwork. Like dude you don't need 5 pairs for mowing the lawn. And jackets.. omg he has so many jackets! I'm starting quite the collection too but I do need to purge that closet again soon.

The boooooxxxxxxxeeeesssss sophiegrace !!!!! He insists on keeping every box that every single thing comes in, directions (hi you can get those online now and when was the last time you looked at your cell phone instructions), twist ties, he singlehandedly requires more tidying than both babies. The paper bags that TMobile gave me to CARRY the phone box in. Omg I'm clenching my jaw right now. I'm going home and jut tossing this shit, he will literally never know. The shoe boxes! He doesn't even own the shoes anymore we donated them. I can't stop, someone stop me, I'm hyperventilating. I am pretty sure this man would keep his toenail clippings if I allowed it. The old credit card statements "You know you need those for 7 years" No I don't butthead. If I get audited I'll request them or go online. The cords! What do these cords even go to?! They've just sat there. Old tv remotes. Ok really, I need a cigarette. I don't smoke but I need one. That or a shot of vodka

+1 to being paranoid of our apt being a wreck, bc it is. We don't really have people over much though. It's actually anxiety inducing lately bc I can't find time to organize our clothes and all the random baby crap - rogue bibs, socks, that I don't have homes for. Since n is in our room, mh gets dressed in living room, so stuff is everywhere. hangry I think I'm in the same boat, my mom worked and we were busy, so I don't think I learned how to keep tidy daily. We did have the county come out for a speech assessment and I had straightened but forgot to vacuum, and we promptly sat on the floor and I was so embarrassed. I made a joke that I should have had our cleaner come, and they looked at me awkwardly, and then I said, that's me. I'm so awkward sometimes.

I'm dying kleigh!! +a million to the cords!! We already went through and cleaned out our office once and we had soooo many cables and wires. Most of them were outdated and unusable now. He still kept a shit ton and put them in the basement. I'm going to need a lot of freakin alcohol when we move. I'm seriously freaking out just thinking about moving all that crap in the basement. We just finally threw away an old papasan that has literally been sitting in the corner of the basement taking up space for a good 6 years. H said he was going to do a last call with his family to see if anyone wanted it. I just LOLno'd him and told him it's going to the curb. We have an old patio set that was supposed to go to his brother 2 years ago and it's still in the basement.

Omg to the boxes and boxes and boxes of baseball cards H plans to sell one day.
And cords and empty boxes. I have a storage box in my basement of empty boxes. That is literally how I labelled it when we moved 4 years ago. Guess how many times I've opened that box since then. Spoiler: none.
But according to my H, everything has value. Don't throw things away. Ughhhhhh.

I definitely have major issues because of the clutter/overstuffed house I lived in growing up. Also I imagine it was hard for my mom to clean up after 6 kids constantly. As a result I would 100% throw out every single thing I "own" that I don't use on a daily basis - keep just like hair dryer, toothbrush, mirror, etc if H would go with it. I can't stand "things", I can't mentally tolerate things that are unnecessary or extra, and I absolutely cannot stand a sink with dishes in it - I get anxiety thinking about it. H on the other hand is a keeper. I wish I knew that going into the relationship lol - it was well hidden bc he lived with his parents so he was always at my place, therefore I never saw his habits until we lived together. Also he used to give me shit bc I won't use chemicals to clean - it bothers my asthma so I would only use natural ones etc. He'd insist that bc MIL was a cleaning lady that the house needed to be spotless to a white glove when she'd come over so we almost never had her over.
If you could only see her house now 😦...14 yo SIL leaves her daily McDs bags and Starbucks cups strewn about bathroom and bedroom, plates of half eaten food in living room, etc. I haven't seen the bathroom clean in months it's usually covered in dirty towels that SIL just tossed in, forget the hamper is right there in the linen closet, hair dye and various products, cords of hair tools, makeup stains on the counters, you name it - it is horrendous.. I get bothered having to use the bathroom Suuuuuure this is why you didn't have her over

You guys. MH has an entire giant plastic bin full of drum sticks. Drum sticks!! Does he play the drums, you might ask? No. No, he does not. He gets these drum sticks from the millions of shows he has gone to and the drummer will throw a stick out into the crowd when it cracks and they need a new one. Since MH is a fucking giant, he always catches them. So. Many. Drum sticks. Oh my god.
Also yes to all the cords and remotes and boxes for everything. Good lord.
I admit that it took having kids for me to start being organized and having a place for everything and not wanting to keep things "just in case". I actually used to be really about that and MH would tease me. But now I'm like "throw it away, throw it all away!" and MH is like "but you might want it someday!" No, dude. It's been in a box in the garage for the last 5 years, I promise I'm going to need it.
And so many paper bills. I'm all about that paperless life but MH still likes getting paper bills and then he WRITES CHECKS to pay them! No autopay for that man. The only reason he even has direct deposit is because his work basically forced him to, he held for as long as he could with that.

Like the ones that Celine has murdered and are dirty and gross. There's a bag of them in the basement. Wut ?

My MIL is picking up the kids at 3 and taking them to the galleria, then probably to dinner at Rainforest Cafe. MH & I are going to ipic to see Mother. I don't like scary movies so this should be interesting.
I'm just excited for drinks/food.

When DH wanted to do his fitness competition, one of my reeasons against it was we couldn't afford it. Hr agreed to sell all of his action figures to pay for it (which I wanted gone for a long time). He made over $1000 guys! And we still have like 3 rubbermaid bins plus 3 boxes of comics left.

kleigh I think we have a bag full of Gracie's old toys too lol. It's not like we're attached but we haven't cleaned our basement out in years. Once in a while I bring one up and she acts like it's a new toy. DED at the drumsticks jubilantsquirrel! We only write checks for the cleaning people. And once in a while for something else. H and I actually hate mail and paper bills but our insurance company sends SO MUCH STUFF. After C was born I almost died at all the mail coming from them. And they don't have a paperless option. Why?? They could save so much money.

So B qualifies for speech therapy! I'm actually thrilled. He was so quiet and shy when they were here which they knew was not a good indication of his normal day to day. They don't have any major concerns or red flags but they feel he just needs a push to get the communication going. I'm really happy!

MH writes checks for everything. The mortgage, the car payment, WSG, cable/internet, any medical bills, phone bill, credit card bill (we have to use a credit card for preschool, otherwise he's very anti credit card), everything. We have a joint account and then two separate individual accounts, his direct deposit goes into his personal account so twice a month he writes a check to himself from his personal account to the joint account. He's insane.
I just transfer the money from my personal account into the joint account like a normal fucking human being.

But I'll see how he responds to the therapy and bring it up.

Y'all just need to join the military, and then you will be moved every 3 years...and your husbands will learn to purge REAL quick With some exceptions, our pre-move rule is: if we didn't use it in the time we lived in this house, we don't need it. goldenlove Like your insurance, our financial advisor and the brokerage firm they use is INSANE with the paper mail. Like, you will get three separate mailings that essentially say the same thing. When we moved, we got about 15 documents confirming our new address (that is only a slight exaggeration). DH has turned "paperless" on countless times and still the mail pours in! jubilantsquirrel LOL at your H writing a check to himself instead of transferring from one acct. to another. I only write checks for things like repairmen, B's preschool (although his new one will autodraft if you set it up...last one did not), and random medical bills that don't have online payment available. My H literally never writes checks--I doubt he even knows where our checkbook is located. I wonder if our kids will even know what a check is? I think I last balanced my checkbook in college but I remember learning that in school at some point. I'm sure stuff like that isn't taught now.

Liam has his 9-month appointment tomorrow! The pediatrician sent an Ages and Stages questionnaire to be filled out and now I'm worried (I'm always worried) that L is behind! My mom and DH don't seem worried in the least and think this is irrational but my older brother is developmentally slow and I'm worried I'll miss signs. Also don't watch Collateral Beauty on a plane! Trigger Warning galore and major cry-fest! jubilantsquirrel, so she cleans the inside of a toilet by hand? 😳 I always feel like my house is a mess, if that makes you feel better! tgrimes, I love ipic theaters.

Cheshie6 I wouldn't stress about those questionnaires. There will always be things that your baby won't be doing that others might. What has happened to me on more than one occasion is the day after the appt baby starts to so the thing that I said no to. I.e. Clapping starting the day after her 9 month appt. Can't wait to hear about your trip!
