Yesterday LO hugged the nanny when she got here and only cried for like a minute when I left! Progress, yay!!!

I also spelled randoms "ransoms". I'm obviously winning today.

I need to share that K is starting the transition into the toddler room at DC! She officially starts October 23rd full time in the toddler room. Until then she will got one to two days a week in the mornings, starting today. I am super excited. Usually they don't move them until 22 months but I asked if she could be early since she's pretty advanced and she's the only toddler left in the infant room. Thankfully her teacher's and the director agreed that she's more than ready and they just needed to wait for a full time spot to open up. My baby is no longer a baby anymore

Is it Friday yet? It's been a weird day at work.
And I think a random staff member just took a picture of me without even asking. Today just got weirder.

There is so much I should be doing to get ready for A's party on Saturday but I'm enjoying snuggling with the littles.

letthewookieewin, Maybe you look especially awesome today and she wants to replicate the look? I mean, it's weird no matter what, but at least that would be complimentary. It's already been quite a morning. Dropped LBB off at school and did a quick pop-in at Target to grab some sponges and spinach (random, I know.) I get home, log onto work, start making my breakfast - and get a call from the school. LBB managed to hit his head on the teacher's desk and split open his chin. They don't think he needs stitches, but he probably needs to have it looked at. Throw my breakfast back in the fridge, put up an away message for work, and head back to the school. Take him to urgent care, get his chin glued shut, and then sit for 30 minutes waiting for our discharge papers. Get him back to school RIGHT as kindergarten is letting out, so I walk him over to aftercare (I would have just brought him home, but he has soccer at school today). Get home and finally get to sit and eat breakfast at 11:40.

I have been so super frustrated with DD in the mornings. I really hate it. I get she wants to play and do what she wants, but she should know by now that I mean business and I need her to come to me and get ready.
So tired of getting mad and just having her say "no" when she has to brush her teeth or get dressed. I am in a rush and have myself and the dog to deal with as well. My job doesn't let me be late at all.
I will be glad to move and be able to have my parents help out and get her dressed for the day.

footloose, does she work well with incentive? Back when I had more time in the mornings/my kid woke up at dawn, he could watch television IF there was time before daycare. Which meant he had to be dressed, washed, brushed, and ready to go out the door before he got to do something he wanted to do. (It doesn't have to be tv if you don't do that sort of thing, but something she would want to do, like a favorite story or time to play with a special toy)

I hate being frustrated first thing in the morning when my job is stressful enough.

footloose, Mornings are THE WORST. Followed very closely by evenings between dinner and bedtime.

Was it like a drive by photo or did they stand there and take the pic and walk away. It was odd. I was sitting down with my lunch looking at my phone and I hear "(college) cafeteria worker, smile!" And then the flash on her phone went off and she walked away. Even a "(name), say cheese!" would have been less weird.

footloose, I'm a day behind, but how old is your DD? I basically just bribe DS (turned 2 in June) by turning on his favorite show and letting him eat breakfast while he's watching it. As I start it, I remind him as soon as the show is all done, we're putting on our clothes and getting ready to go to school, that normally helps him be more agreeable, especially on mornings I have to wake him up - those 20 minutes or so of just chilling on the couch seem to help him wake up and be more agreeable in general. Bonus: it gives me time to load up the dishwasher, throw my lunch in my bag, put dinner in the crock pot, or do whatever else needs to be done, in between reminding him constantly to take bites of his breakfast of course. But also, I feel you. I've also had mornings where I'm just at the end of my rope with him - H leaves early for work, so the general get out the door craziness is on me. It's the worst.

I am sure she will love it with the big kids @letthewookiewin That is a really weird way to get a picture taken of you. I would be kind of pissed actually.

Pretty good week so far. DS just had his 2.5 year check up today at the doctor, and he didn't cry when he got his 2 shots! I was sooooo proud of him. Boy did he look pissed off when they injected him though. He had a straight up "WTF is this" face and gave a death stare to me when he saw the needles go in his arms.
But then we made a big deal about how cool the "stickers" (band-aids) on his arm were, and asked him to make muscles for us. Cue big smile and muscle pose - totally forgot about the shots. So proud of my little trooper 😀. He was also well behaved during the appointment, answered the doctor's questions, and passed all the little developmental tests, so all in all - a really good day!

Looks like DS gets to do a major poop cleanout this weekend. We went to the GI specialist Monday for his constipation issues and got the call today about most of the results. Bloodwork looks good so far (apparently the celiac test takes a bit longer), X-ray showed lots of backup. And we found out the hard way he's afraid of elevators.
On a brighter note, our new space at work is fairly nice. My area isn't finished yet, but most of my customers seem happy enough with what I can do for them right now and knowing it's only temporary.

Close this month has been crazy busy. I'm still not done but cannot seem to find any more motivation. And my period must be on it's way. I've been a super cry baby. Last night I cried when L walked around with a party invite from his classmate and told DH he was going to a party with a bouncy house. It's like all of a sudden he gets it. And he's been wearing his backpack and looping his thumbs thru the straps like a big kid. Although the bag is really supposed to stay at school. He's the youngest kid in the 3 yo room (turns 3 in Dec). BUT he refuses to potty train at home. Last week I heard that he went to the bathroom at school. I'm hoping to talk more to his teacher tomorrow at the open house.

jillywilly My DD is just over 3 years old. I did have an epiphany this morning though. I can always motivate her to go to bed and brush her teeth by saying she wants her story. I realized that the morning is just so much harder because she seriously hates that I have to leave her and go to work. She DGAF about getting ready when it just means I go. I reminded her a few times this morning about just listening to me and getting dressed as I don't want to get mad and it isn't fun to start the day like that. It worked! I really hope I can continue it.

I'm in trouble. Came home about 4:15. MIL was having a grandma day with DD and she had just put the kid down for a nap because she fell asleep while they were reading! She wouldn't nap earlier so it just hit her. It's 5:15 and she's still asleep. Bedtime begins at 7. FUUUUUUuuuu.
Otherwise, things are good. Insanely busy at work, since I'm planning an arts festival (first time ever doing that), trying to get food donated for an orchestra clinic (so hard to get food, guys, whyyyyyy), and just the general early year stuff (making shirts for publications, teaching shit, yearbook cover designs, etc.). I laugh at past fuzzy who thought she was busy. Present fuzzy is a machine. Future fuzzy is probably going to collapse into a puddle of tears after this arts festival is over. Hopefully tears of joy, right?
RIGHT?!?
