My pediatrician still hasn't received the flu vaccinations yet. Is that odd? Maybe related to Hurorcane, issues of delivery etc ? I hadn't thought of that, but I normally get M's shot in August.

kleigh I take M to a little singers class on Thursdays. Age three and under and there's instruments, singing, puppets, all that good stuff. It's expected for the kids to kind of just run around and let loose. And because it's all parents and grandparents no one even blinks when a child is having a rough day. Maybe there is something like that in your area?

Thanks everyone. Y'all are sweet. I had to text him about something so it broke our silence. We aren't getting into details through text but I'm sure we'll have a talk tonight. We both said things we regret.

We are getting flu shots for both boys when we go back for J's 12 month checkup... in November. The pedi said that was fine but is it too late?

Yeah we are supposed to be getting theirs NOV 21 at their 1 yr check up (which is weeks late but their pedi is out of office, we could see another but I like him). But I think that's too late. I just got an email from them saying they have availability in their flu clinics to call for appt. so I might see if I can get them in this week or next.

I was hoping for a baby and mom yoga class but the only thing we have is the class she's in and swim classes. It's kind of a bummer. Gymnastics starts when they're walking here, but I know there are places that do baby gymnastics for infants.

I'm sorry jubilantsquirrel, I hope his day gets better and he's smiling at pickup. It's always hard to leave them in that state 🙁

I had a hard time going to pre K my mom would always have to come pick me up. I can't imagine being on the other end - wanting to console but also wanting them to learn independence. So many hugs.

jubilantsquirrel that is so heartbreaking. O went through this last fall when he just changed rooms. And I was 9 months preggo and hormonal and crying too. It was bad. It took about 2 weeks for him to stop crying and another week to not hesitate. Ds1 will get there. It will just take time and strong willpower in your end.

jubilantsquirrel Poor kid. Even though it sucks, the best thing to do is try and get a teacher to distract him and then hall ass out of there. Will he cry? More than likely. But he'll also probably be fine in a couple minutes. I've found the longer the parents stick around the worse it gets. Maybe talking to him about exactly what is going to happen each day will help him get accustomed to going.

He's already shy around people he doesn't know (unless you bring him toys) and very cautious so I know it's going to be a disaster.

I hadn't even thought about flu shots! I guess I need to schedule ours. My work gives them out with a full size candy bar, so I will be checking that date and going into work for that. It's usually in October so that's why it hadn't crossed my mind yet. I also plan to do one year and family pictures at ge same time just before E's birthday! I need to schedule that with my friend. 2 weeks/ a month early is totally NBD tjanca22. I'm glad you talked waitwhat but I'm with you. I hate that I am always the one to break the silence no matter what. I hope a decent convo results later.

starbuck What do you do with the twins now that they're getting mobile. Let's say you're at the park or at a playground etc - do they get out of their stroller? Do you do any classes or anything with them? I feel like AB and AV are looking for more stimulation than just playing with the same few toys every day with me or grandma but I'm terrified to take them to classes on my own etc - I have no clue how to manage that. I don't do any of that on my own, yet. I may try soon, have been thinking of a park trip, but it would definitely be without W. I dont see how I would keep all three safe. But, we get a break from home a lot, they go to childcare while I do fitness classes T/Th, plus Wed night and Sunday school. So they are getting out there regularly. I think having W around is an advantage in that respect. He usually keeps them entertained and playing hard (unless he is a grump). Between him and our regular activities they don't really seem to be bored. Does your library have story time? That's one way to test things out, it's usually only 30 min and free so if things go bad, you can get out of there and not feel bad about it. How often do you guys take walks? Do you have a play yard/fence you can set up in your yard for outdoor play? One of those would make sure you don't have to worry about chasing them endlessly but they get a fresh scene.

It was really fun!! So I actually hate the venue they had it at (we went to a truly awful wedding there last summer) but this one was totally differently set up and I think it worked so much better. Plus the band was fantastic and so I actually got to dance. PLUS I wasn't KU this time so yeah, lots of fun Thanks for asking!
