Anyone figured out what their kid(s) are wearing this year? What do you normally end up doing on Halloween?

I am not normally a Halloween costume person and have reused the same Care Bear ears and belly I made 8 years ago. The exception being last year when we did a group Pokémon costume because I was excited the make my big belly a pokeball. For dd I'm reusing ds' costume. It's a black "my 1st Halloween" onesie and a cute knitted fox hat and tail. Hopefully reusing his costume doesn't give her a complex down the road. Kidding. Kind of. But I figure I better reuse stuff while I can. Since dd will be a fox I wanted to make ds a David the Gnome outfit and then dd would be Swift, his fox friend. Mh wants to veto this and suggested a wolf since he loves Balto and has been obsessed with howling like a wolf. I guess a fox and a wolf would be cute. So I'm undecided with the toddler. Our neighborhood shuts down the street for a block party so we'll pop in for that. Last year we took ds to a couple of houses to show him off to neighbors we knew and to score a few pieces of candy for ourselves. Then we put the kids to bed and I hand out candy for the little kids. Once the older kids start coming out we close up shop and have a fire in the back yard. We will probably do the same this year.

Last year, we were all Batman - H had a t-shirt, I had a t-shit with a cap, mIL had a batman cap, and DD (2 at the time) had an adorable sparkly batman costume.
Baby A is too big to wear DD's first Halloween costume (Minnie Mouse - but it's a NB size because DD1 was only a few weeks old). So, we'll let the big girl decide a hallowwen costume, then we'll all coordinate around that.
We'll trick or treat around our neighborhood. Lots of houses give out full size candy bars! And DD1 LOVES ToT-ing. She screams TRICKORTREAT and then walks into strangers' homes. It's something.

B will be wearing DDs pumpkin costume I think. It was just so adorable (pdq pic below). I haven't given much thought to our costumes this year. I'm all about dressing the kids up, but I loathe having to come up with adult costumes. We have a costume party every year at my friends place and it's probably my least favorite get together (ffmc?).

ellabee, i'm not into dressing up either. I'm all about wearing a t-shirt that fits with the girls' costumes.

ellabee and judyblume14 yes! I'm so glad that our group finally stopped doing adult Halloween parties. I'm good with my Grumpy Bear ear headband. I chose Grumpy for a reason!

I don't dress up. I assume E is too little to go trick or treating. I'm awful but I am dressing E up as Regina George (mean girls) for Halloween.

I think we're doing a Monsters Inc family costume. DS has been super into monsters lately and we keep meaning to show him the movie. M will be perfect as boo with her little ponytail. We haven't decided on who the rest of us will be. H is in charge of costumes though bc he takes it much more seriously than I do.

Soooooo
H wants to put the boys, mainly W, into kilts and paint their faces because, you know. Braveheart.
I want to dress them as dinos and put them in a 'caged' red wagon for Jurassic Park.
They'll probably be Batman and Robin.

We haven't done Halloween in the past because of where we lived wasn't very safe and no kids would ever show up. This year we moved and live in the most amazing tiny neighborhood filled with kiddos so we will definitely be taking the girls around to the neighbors. DD1 decided she's Minnie Mouse and that the baby also has to be Minnie but maybe the baby could be more of a set of pajamas. I do not like Halloween as a an adult and do not dress up but I think its very cute for kids.
