Thanks for starting jexxa! Age: 5weeks, 1 day Milestones: A has been following my voice a lot more. Good/Bad from the week: Good: A loved his bath! Bad: Same as always. No sleep. Questions: a fun one, anyone dressing their baby up for Halloween? Getting ideas?

Age: 2 weeks
Milestones: she's giving us a couple 4 hour stretches between feedings at night sometimes!
Good/Bad from the week: DS has been really good with baby for the most part (he's 2, I'll take what I can get). I even made it out of the house with both kids by myself and we all survived!
Bad: I have a bit of an oversupply from so much pumping last week while my nipples healed. It's good and bad because I now have a freezer stash started but it's painful too.
Questions: Not this week.

Age: 1 week
Milestones: She was born!
Good/Bad from the week: She lost a lot of weight in the first day or so (more than the pedi liked). Went from 8.8 to 7.14! But she took to nursing quickly and my milk came in day 2, so she should gain it back quickly. We have a weight check on Wed.
Questions: I'll think of something 5 minutes from now I'm sure...

pennylane N lost a lot of weight quickly, too - 8.8 at birth, 7#14 on day 2, 7#12 on day 4. A week later he was at 8#8.5 and at his two week check up he was 9#3 - just needed my milk to come in and get the hang of feeding and latching properly. Fx your LO follows a similar track!

Age: 2 months
Milestones: Alexa finished Leap 1! she can follow objects and has discovered the fan. She just stares up and is entertained
Good/Bad from the week: she plays with her piano gym for up to 30 mins it's awsome. Last night she tried to STTN but I got nervous and woke her. She slept from 8pm-4am, last eating at 7pm. I woke her because I needed to fix her swaddle.
Bad.. reflux. We have a GI apt 9/20
Questions: how long are you guys up MOTN for a feed? I'm up minimum 90 minutes. 20 to feed, sitting upright for 40, pumping for 20. And extra if she won't sleep

Age: 4 weeks
Milestones: Neck is seeming stronger, definitely saw some smiles today 😊
Good/Bad from the week: sleeping a few longer stretches at night so enjoying that while it lasts. We have been going out usually everyday trying to keep the toddler entertained. Bad: I feel like I have another fussy baby like DD1 which was so hard and I imagine will be so much harder now having 2 kids. Still constantly pooping too.
Questions: Anyone else have a hardly ever content baby? It's like I just make cranky kids. If she isn't nursing or sleeping, she is content for like 5 mins before fussing ugh. It's been hard

yoshijo, I try to get him back to sleep within 20 mins if I can. Otherwise it can be up to an hour. I don't have to hold him up, I'll just rock him and try to burp. Also not pumping in the MOTN. jt2378, A definitely has his fussy days but seems to be consoled easily. He's the most fussy right before bed and around 5 AM. I hate being screamed at that early.

@easilyunamused even tho helloween isnt really a thing here I actually do have a cute outfit for D. Friends sent us a pumpkin onesie with matching hat and I am actually pretty excited dressing her up in it hah. kristyw sorry the oversupply is painful but yay for having been able to built up some stash. pennylane hopefully babygirl will be back at her birth weight before long. D didnt loose that much but it still took her till day 10 or 11 to get back to her birth weight.

yoshijo omgosh how can A be 2mo already?! Seeing her play must have been so neat! I always freak out still as well when D sleeps for long stretches.. while I d love a full night of sleep I am not sure I would really enjoy it just get haha. I am sorry about the reflux and hope the dr will have a solution. jt2378 awwww yay for social smiles! Sorry baby is so fussy. D has fussy periods, usually later in the evening/early night and it can take a cple of hours for her to really settle down, but generally is a pretty easy going baby.

yoshijo It used to take me well over an hour to 1.5hs as well as she is such a slow nurser and would gladly be on the boob for 20-25min each side.. but am now trying to keep it to 15m max a boob. So I try and put her back in 40 mins incl daiper change before nursing and a little time to let her doze off on me. I don't pump in the MOTN. @easilyunamused so jealous of you being able to keep it to 20 mins even if that doesnt always happen!

Age: 3w 6days
Milestones: he explosively pooped all over the wall for the first time this morning (3 am). I was a little shocked, lol
Good/Bad from the week: Good is DS1 is being great with him. Bad is lack of sleep and worries about feeding enough with breast milk and how much we need to supplement due to low supply and then worries that supplementing will further tank my supply.
Questions: Anyone else have baby in the crib already? I had him in a bassinet in the living room, but yesterday, I kept putting him in the crib after nursing and he seemed to sleep better. I've dragged some couch cushions into the nursery for me to sleep on by the crib bc I don't want to leave him in here alone yet.

I forgot the Halloween question. I'm trying to find a coordinated costume for DS1 (3) and DS2 . I've thought of football player and football. Ds1 is super into paw patrol, though, so I might do something with that instead.

Age: 5.5 weeks
Milestones: much more alert, can follow objects slightly..
Good/Bad from the week: good-- sleeping better and has a little bit of a nap routine. Bad -- he probably has reflux. Doctor wants to wait until 2 month appointment to do anything, but I am calling this week and asking for the meds. We waiting with DS1 and it was hell.
Questions: I can't think of one at the moment!
I have been thinking about Halloween a lot, don't know if I want them to match or not. DS1 will probably pick his own this year so I'll have to see..

jt2378 Alexa is like that. It's gotten a little better now that she can play to give me a little break. But that only works if her reflux is ok. We downloaded our "secret weapon" lol which is baby white noise app. She seems content to listen to the noises for a bit. I feel guilty I haven't read to her much but she just won't sit through it most times ans fusses. Hugs! thinkchocolate05 if the crib works go for it!

Gahh I was up 2 hrs for her feed last night. Thankfully she only gets up once or I'd be up the whole night. I can't go back to sleep. Doesn't help that I become wide awake after being up for so long. Then my mind races. Ugg

Omg yoshijo, that costume is completely adorable! Can't wait to see her in it. Sorry about her reflux, that is so tough. We thought my first might have had it but it got better as she got a little older. We did do the Zantac for awhile

From 1am till 6am, A is up every hour. I think he's gassy because he makes that straining yelp most of the time.
Has anyone tried and liked gripe water? I just bought some for nighttime and wondering if I give it to him at that 1am feed if it'll help.

I was desperate with DD1's witching hour and heard gripe water might help but it didn't do much for her. I did buy the gas drops and that seemed to help a little more. Fussiness really peaks at 6 weeks so that could be a possibility too :sobs because M is already a crankpot lol::

Because he's not hungry after that, but just loudly grunts and groans for hours. And when I pick him up, he'll pass gas a bunch. Maybe it's his position while he's in the RnP that hinders passing it? But he won't sleep in the bassinet yet.

Age: 3 weeks!
Milestones: giving one 4 hour stretch at night! Otherwise... ?
Good/Bad from the week: G: sleep is going okay for the most part! He's taken a few naps in his crib and is doing great in there! B: he has his rough time in the late evening lately-anywhere from like 7-12 he can be up. Or will only nap for 20min and if you so much as breathe he freaks out and we start all over again. He loves to be walked. It's exhausting and tiring on my back (have chronic back pain) and arms. I usually let DH do the walking time bc I am wiped.
Questions: idk. I mostly just wonder when he will sleep longer and longer stretches at night so I can stop freaking out about going back to work and leaving him w DH who needs sleep when he's pulling 60-80hr work weeks.
Has anyone had a full time nanny before? If you go on vacation, do you still pay them? I don't foresee us paying them over the table, I assume it'll be cash/check without the whole taxes/insurance thing- that's how I was paid as a nanny but I was also 22 and didn't know much about legal nanny tax etc

So does me rubbing out the gas bubbles when I feel them in her tummy

I keep panicking about sleep during the day more then the night because I'm worried when I go back to work DH won't be able to get his work done during the day because J will be up the entire time. I hate worrying about things like this, especially when I still have 9 weeks to think about it.

addymac, I feel like sleep is such an unknown with babies. It changes so much or can be just horrible. DD1 was a nightmare but part of it was I just couldn't bring myself to sleep train. Not trying to scare you but just saying that sometimes you just have shit luck and your baby won't sleep or you could be one of the lucky ones who has a sleeping unicorn! I'll pray for the 🦄 They say babies tend to be able to STTN (which technically is 5-6 hours) by 3 months but that varies greatly. I really hope I don't pull the short straw this second time again lol

Age: 1 month today!
Milestones: She can track things now. Last night she went 6 hours between feedings.
Good/Bad from the week: good - she's growing like a champ as evidenced by her checkup today. Bad - I can't really think of anything right now.
Questions: those of you BFing - are you giving your LOs vitamin D drops? I remember doing it with DS as recommended by our pedi. It hasn't been mentioned this time around and I forgot to ask at DD's appt today.

Not sure what we're doing for Halloween yet, I should probably start thinking about that.
I also second the Little Remedies gas drops. They worked well for DS.

I forgot to set the alarm for her next feeding when we went to bed after her last feeding. She was sleeping on top of me (she fussy so I tried to comfort her and we both fell asleep) and I woke up around 2am briefly as D was flapping her arms lol but we both fell back asleep before waking properly and I didnt wake again until 3.30am. D was still sound asleep andI had quite a hard time to wake her for real. I honestly think she would have slept another hour orso easily.. There were 4.5h since her last 1oz bottle feed supplement and 5.5 since I BF. That is so long! And this is freaking me out! She is only just 3 weeks old. She isnt supposed to sleep such long stretches yet??!! Is she ok??
