How long has it been since you've given birth? One month and 3 days
Are you coping well with having a newborn? Coping well for having twins. They are pretty good babies, but having two newborns is a whole different ballgame, especially when they are crying or feeding at the same time.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? Pretty well - DH is back to work and started by working 2 weeks straight so this has been no joke. My mom has been a big help with DS1 and we are currently in a trial run with a part time nanny.
What areas are a struggle right now? DH is working nonstop and DS1 is sick right now soooo 3u3 with one sick toddler and no evening/MOTN help sucks.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? We survived one month!!!!

I do not know how those of you with a toddler are doing a newborn and a toddler. DH and I are in awe of people who can since it's been so tiring just being with J. Perhaps it's because we are new parents, but I don't know. My H is already starting to panic about me going back to work. I still have 9 1/2 weeks off but I think he's stressing about it already. I don't know how to make him feel better about it either as it will be a challenge for him to have J by himself and try to work from home at the same time. happyfeet9 I hope DS1 feels better and your H can help out soon!

king26 it's difficult but manageable most days. I think for you and YH, the best thing would be to make sure you're working on a schedule together. You'll find that you end up with a routine where YH can squeeze in productivity. I worked from home for a few months with DS1 before going back to the office and I ended up with a good idea of what calmed him down (naps in 4moms swing and morning walks to Starbucks for coffee). It gets easier!

This might be TMI, but is anyone still spotting or having any pain almost four weeks post partum? My discharge had disappeared, but now it's back occassionally with light pink spotting. I also have a feeling of heaviness low in my belly and some cramping in my low belly and back after I go for walks. I'm going to ask my ob about it at my 6 weeks checkup in two weeks but was curious if anyone else had similar symptoms.

Well I'm only 2.5 weeks pp but I find that some days my spotting is worse then otjers. I've also had some belly pain after going to the bathroom or going shopping or something that requires effort. Hope that helps!

My crotch feels like it gets swollen and heavy and my lower back just hurts. I don't think I get belly pain, but I will check after my walk tomorrow.

@thinkchocolat05 I am almost 3wks PP now and only randomly spot a little bit still. I feel I am the minority though. I bled way less then I expected and it changes to spotting within a week, and even the spotting stopped after 2. Not sure whether it is different since I had a CS tbh! But I think needing and spotting is normal up to 6wks PP. At least that is what I was told several times.

@starzia, you can give real baths after the belly button stump falls off. But we had already packed away the tub we had for him. So I was only doing wipe downs. I'm a nut and have been afraid to give the real bath. Been doing sponge baths. She's not a fan. I havent bathed her by myself yet either, just together with MH. Am to scscaredares I would do something wrong.. like let her slip or something 😯

How long has it been since you've given birth? About 4 weeks
Are you coping well with having a newborn? Okay. I was struggling yesterday with the lack of a sleep pattern and never knowing how much he's getting breastfeeding. I asked dh if wasn't it hard having a newborn and he said he didn't think it was hard at all, which made me feel weird and weepy and like something is wrong with me. I thought it over later and realized that the lack of control/defined schedule is hard on me. I'm a planner (and control freak) and not knowing how he's going to sleep, etc has really been getting to me. I vowed to try to go with the flow more and just do my best to enjoy this stage versus trying to micromanage everything.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? Pretty good. Dh buys me chocolate. My mom finally visited but only for 3 days. I really wish she could have stayed longer. Dh is going back to work soon, so gearing up for that.
What areas are a struggle right now? Sleeping! Breastfeeding! Feeling house bound. Still lots of guilt about not being able to breastfeed exclusively, which I know is silly. And then I feel guilty if I don't pump after feeds. I'm good at guilt.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? Seeing my mom hold DS2. Also, ds1 giving 2 a bottle. So cute!!!
Anything else to add? Nope. I cannot get him to go back to sleep, lol, so I'm just doing this on my phone. He's finally quiet but I'm afraid to put him down.

I did have some minor pain in my abdomen.i was also experiencing my highest blood pressures then, so I do t know if that caused it. I am a few days shy of 6 weeks and I am not bleeding really, only when I pee I notice it. I know it can take some women the full 6 eeeks or even longer to stop. the pain I am not to sure of but your body does go thru a lot so it could be part of healing.

**snip** What areas are a struggle right now? Sleeping! Breastfeeding! Feeling house bound. Still lots of guilt about not being able to breastfeed exclusively, which I know is silly. And then I feel guilty if I don't pump after feeds. I'm good at guilt. Ahhh this could have been storten by me word for word. I felt so crappy and upset about needing to add formula back in to supplement 1-2 times a day (even if it is just an oz a time), and so guilty for not pumping after every feed. I know tis ridiculous and I do my best and cant do more than that but I still struggle with these feelings. Like I am taking the easy way out by supplementing with formula instead of being on a strict nurse/pump regiment that may (or may not) get my supply up to par with D's demand. I pump when I can which is about 4 maybe 5 times a day, but sometimes it just ain't happening when she is crampy or fussy etc. Or in the MOTN. I need to stay sane as well.. Just need to keep repeating to myself the most important is for D to be fed and happy. And she still is getting the majority of food in breastmilk after all. I just can't let go of the worry of Fing up my already low supply.. which feeds the guilt when i don't manage to pump after every feeding. My sister told me yesterday she too had to supplement with formula with both kids which oddly enough made me feel less bad. I knew she had had issues initially with her supply but never realized she supplemented formula. As little as I know about BF now back then I knew nothing whatsoever heh.

I'm 4 weeks PP and I think my bleeding has finally stopped. I'm just having that weird discharge now - lochia or whatever it's called? The pain is pretty much gone now too although every once in a while I'll get a twinge or two.
With DS I bled for almost 8 weeks, but I had complications during and after delivery that I think contributed to that.

I have had some odd discharge mix in with the spotting as well jexxa. At first it made me go 😲🙄 and I wondered whether I had maybe a yeast infection or such but then I figured it was prolly just one of those PP things no one told me about lol.

I had moved on to the brown/yellow discharge but now I'm back to pink/red spotting. I'm only 3 weeks out though so I think still normal?

How important do you think the 6 week postpartum check up is? I had to go in at 2 weeks because it was a c-section but I don't really want to spend the time and money going to a new OB for the 6 week. Especially when I know I'm ok.

Ahhh I honestly don't know... usefull comment huh? 😆 I only have a 6wk PP checkup. Tho i had two MW house visits at 5 and 7 days PP who also checked my incision etc. Could you put in a call to your old OBs office to see whether it would be okay to skip the 6wk one since you feel okay?

I could call them I guess, but I feel like they'll say go regardless just in case there was something wrong. Liability issues.

@easilyunamused, it's so weird I had no checkup since the csection until my 6 week in a couple weeks but have heard others mention earlier checkups like muscari mentioned too. Meh if I were you and felt fine and already went in prior I might skip it

So I had moved onto to brown discharge and then had a day of nothing!! And then it went back to pink and then a few days ago I went back to bright red heavy for about two days and now I'm back to a small pink/brown discharge. 😒 (I'm at 4weeks today) DH was like, I can't believe you're still bleeding! Yeah buddy.... this whole post partum thing is really glamorous... 😏

@easilyunamused I'd do a six week check up - they do a cervix check and stuff. Especially, if it'll be your new gyn, since you'll need to know when they want you to have a pap.

Yeah I'm going to make an appointment. I'm just worried because we have a cobra insurance plan right now and I'm concerned about the price. But health is more important.

When do you switch to a regular plan? Or do you? Is it soon enough where you would be at 10 week check up or would it be really far away like 16 weeks ? Because if it's like 10 weeks then I might just say hold off but if it's farther than that I might say better to be safe than sorry and suck it up and go.

But he hasn't signed up for it yet because the website was down. So pretty soon if we get the paperwork in on time.
