Look at me sitting at a computer while the baby sleeps and the two older kids are playing nicely.
How long has it been since you've given birth? 3 and a half weeks
Are you coping well with having a newborn? I love the newborn phase. I get a little short when he's been crying or after the growth spurt nights where we're up all night nursing, but for the most part, I love this time.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? Well enough. My mom was able to visit for a week and she's wonderful. She plays with the older two and keeps them occupied and she enjoys cleaning, so I had a clean kitchen the whole week. I tried to make sure she sat down and got some good baby snuggle time too. Taking three weeks off lead to a major back up with work for DH, so he's been mostly checked out lately, which is hard, but I'm well along enough in my recovery that I can make it work. Getting the kids to school in the morning is hard when S just wants to nurse and DH doesn't push through the morning stuff with any awareness of time.
What areas are a struggle right now? Being the only ball catcher in the house when everyone else drops it. When DH gets swamped at work, he really drops off on contributing to the housework too, and with my mom gone, it's a lot cleaning up after everyone all the time.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? Having my mom here.
Anything else to add? Newborn farty poops are hilarious.

How long has it been since you've given birth? 3.5 weeks, she will be 1 month next Saturday!
Are you coping well with having a newborn? I'm enjoying it! It's way different being a TTM and not having the worries like I did the first two times. I feel like I'm able to enjoy her more.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? This week I was on my own with the kids so my support has kind of gone out the window lol. This week was really good though, I am very independent and like being in control and my kids and I are used to our routine so I think it was great for all of us to have some sense of normalcy. DH is going out of town for work the first half of next week so we will see how I fare.
What areas are a struggle right now? I feel like I'm going a million miles a minute which is good and bad. I feel like I can't soak in the baby-ness like I did with my first two but also having resumed our 'normal' faster and staying busy is helping me seem to avoid PPD based on this past week, anyways. These kids just drain me though so by the end of the day I'm ready to collapse.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? Surviving week one of 3u3.
Anything else to add? Nope!

@viloajack, glad your mom has been there to help. unicornsparkles, I still in awe you having 3u3. I hope things go smoothly when your H goes on his work trip! How long has it been since you've given birth? 5 weeks
Are you coping well with having a newborn? I feel like it's getting better.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? moving is hard and stressful so my support system is focused on that more than helping me with the baby. I can't wait for our lives to be normal again.
What areas are a struggle right now? The lack of sleep will forever be a struggle. I feel like I can't think straight.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? Giving A his first real bath! I had to pack away his bath, so I was just wiping him down. He loved it!
Anything else to add? I'm so glad the intense night sweats are gone.

How long has it been since you've given birth? 4 weeks on Monday, wut already???
Are you coping well with having a newborn? Yeah but it's certainly harder with having a toddler too. So freaking exhausted. I cannot wait for the never ending poop to stop. I got absolutely covered last night ugh
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? No one outside of MH and I are doing much at all. I wish our parents would help out more, at least to entertain DD1
What areas are a struggle right now? Keeping the toddler entertained, no sleep, ass pain going on over 6 weeks right now
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? DD1 started preschool and turned 3 on Thursday which is also our wedding anniversary 💕
Anything else to add? Nothing I can think of right now

It's a complicated long story. Apparently I'm told it will heal eventually and pain will subside but I'm still dealing with daily pain and beyond frustrated

jt2378 man so very sorry you are still dealing with daily pain and there is yet more surgery in your future. I can't imagine what it must be like to have to deal with this on top of everything else in this newborn phase. So many hugs!

How long has it been since you've given birth? 4 weeks
Are you coping well with having a newborn? I'd say so. It's definitely tough with a toddler though.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? H is being great. My parents are willing to help out too even though they live 3 hours away.
What areas are a struggle right now? Balancing attention between newborn and toddler, especially if I'm solo parenting. Chores are falling by the wayside too. My kitchen is a mess.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? I started taking DD on walks around the neighborhood. She sleeps the whole time and it feels great to get outside and moving again.
Also, yesterday I left both kids with H and escaped to Target by myself for about 1.5 hours. It was pretty glorious.

I can't even imagine 😮 @easilyunamused i'm jealous your night sweats stopped! Mine aren't as intense but i'm definitely still waking up wet. It's so gross 😣 jt2378 I can't believe you're still dealing with the ass pain. I'm so sorry 😔

How long has it been since you've given birth?
18 days
Are you coping well with having a newborn?
I think we are doing pretty okay! Sure it is a bit of a struggle at times and the sleep deprivation is no joke but we are definitely found some sort of rhythm (even if it changes every day hah!).
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs?
It is just us really, we have had family&friends visit but mostly for baby cuddles not to help out. But we've been okay really. I do worry a little about how I am going to cope when MH goes back to work this week - but luckily my mum is coming over on Wednesday (and she is bringing dinner mmmm) and a friend actually offered to come by and help with housechores 💛 on Tuesday.
What areas are a struggle right now?
Breastfeeding... feeling guilty over needing to supplement with formula and feeling like a failure for not being able to get my supply up to par to keep her fed and happy.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week?
Pumping 60ml in one session this morning?? Getting some freshn air and sunshine in the garden while reading a book for 20 minutes.
Anything else to add?
I wrote this in the randoms thread already but this afternoon we had to supplement with formula (just an oz but still, on top of an oz of pumped milk) for the first time since Wednesday. I always said and believed it when I said it that I d be fine if it was necessary but now I have to admit I am feeling pretty crappy. 😢
I work so hard to get my supply up to par and to keep her happy and fed.. But I can't seem to get my supply up 100%. And everytime I think there is actual progress and we are doing better.. I realize we still are at like 75% max. I am honestly starting to wonder whether it will ever be 100% let alone be where I can build up some freezee stash. I just don't know what else to try or do apart from mayne a nurse&pump regiment I know will drive us all crazy. MH&I discussed this and agree my sanity is important too. Nor does it guarantee succes anyway. I know the most important thing is that D is happy&fed and growing but it is just so frustrating and I am disappointed I guess too in my boobs.

How long has it been since you've given birth? 17 days
Are you coping well with having a newborn? Its getting better but we are both exhausted. The first week I thought we were both going to lose it but we've gotten into somewhat of a routine and while tired we arent exhausted.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? It's mostly just me and DH. My family lives 2.5 hours away and his is all over the place. My parents came down on Friday and brought food for usand clothes for J so that was nice.
What areas are a struggle right now? Sleep. Tell me it gets better. He only sleeps for an hour at a time and its exhausting. Once a day he will sleep for like 2-3 hours but it's only once a day. Do you think it's because he is hungry? Be honest. I'm supplementing already but will do more if it will help him sleep.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? Seeing my parents with J was cool They just love him so much.
Anything else to add? I feel bad complaining because it took us 4 years to have this miracle baby but man the early days are tougher then I thought. Im glad Im taking off 12 weeks because Im not sure how DH would do this all day while Im working.

How long has it been since you've given birth? 3 weeks!
Are you coping well with having a newborn? Better now. Getting a little more sleep and less random crying.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? DH is pretty helpful. Sometimes it exasperates me when he does things or doesn't do things the way I would expect, or doesn't do things at all and to me it's like... common sense / come on bro!! But 95% of the time he's great. I'm so sad his vacation is half over. Other than DH, there's no one around so I'm getting scared for what things will be like when he goes back to work to an 80hr work week next week.
What areas are a struggle right now? BF/boob/nipple pain. Been using nystatin and I'm still having intense boob/nipple pain. And I think he's latching poorly on the right one again, so I pumped this morning and got 4oz out of righty! It had been like 8hr since he had eaten from it, but still. I was amazed. It still hurts though, but pumping is significantly less painful than letting him on that boob!
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? We survived going out and about to the outlets for some shopping, and even had a meal at a restaurant!
Anything else to add? I feel so energized at times and then like an hour or two later I'm like just kidding 😴

jexxa, that target run sounds nice! muscari, don't get too down on yourself about your milk supply. I'm pretty sure it takes up to 6 weeks for your supply to stabilize. king26, I'm not sure if he's hungry. Some babies just don't sleep as much. If you're already supplementing, I'm sure he's full. I'm pretty sure they only need about 2.5-3 oz every 4 hours once they've gotten back to their birth weight. Obviously they'll nurse a lot more than that amount of time, but if you were bottle feeding that's the norm. And don't beat yourself up too much about feelings about complaining about the baby. This is hard! Regardless if it took you one cycle, or 30! It's going to have some downs. addymac, yikes to YH going back to an 80hr work week.

@easilyunamused tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I started BFing for real, D will be 3 weeks on Wednesday. If it really can take up to 6wks for my supply to stabilize it probably is too early to say anything about it yet.. This may make me feel a little better.. I think!

How long has it been since you've given birth? Almost a week
Are you coping well with having a newborn? Doing pretty good. She's fairly easy at this point- eat, sleep, diaper change, repeat. I was already used to being sleep deprived (DS still gets up at night at almost 3).
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? My MIL was here for the first few days which was super helpful for keeping DS entertained and doing the cooking. I wish she could have stayed longer! DH has another week off work, so he's doing his best to help. He is just not used to being home with DS all day- and everything takes him 5x longer than it'd take me.
What areas are a struggle right now? Physically I feel mostly great, except I have a rash from (I think) the hospital pads which is soo not pleasant. I'm really hoping that clears up soon. The house is messy. DS is being emotional and clingy with me, but I saw that coming.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? I finally got the baby out of me! And hearing DS try to use her name is adorable- although he usually just says "baby sister".
Anything else to add? Don't think so!

@easilyunamused the night sweats and chills were the worst! jt2378 I hear you about the toddler. I am so tired just trying to balance her and a newborn. The worst is trying to keep her nap regular with a newborn who is anti schedule.

How long? 6 weeks
How are you coping? It is a challenge trying to work at home with a toddler and newborn. I can send some emails but no real work. And sleep is still a struggle with both kids. Like others said, we don't get many long sleep stretches with DS. DD would sometimes give me 6 hours!
Support system? We really don't have a local one but did hire a part time sitter to come in a few hours a couple days a week which has helped a little.
Sleep is a struggle and I have some crazy fall allergies which are not helping.
Highlights? He is smiling for real and trying to laugh!

It's rougj!

How long has it been since you've given birth? 2 weeks
Are you coping well with having a newborn? I think so. The newborn is much easier to deal with than the 2 year old.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? H has been back to work since E was 3 days old. He worked 6 hour days instead of 8.5, which was a big help. He goes back to 8.5 this week. I'm dreading it. He helps a lot with DS. He's been better about getting up at night this time too. He'll usually give E a bottle while I pump for one feed since I can pump for 10 min and be done but it takes her 30-45 to nurse or eat a bottle.
What areas are a struggle right now? Lack of sleep plus toddler.
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? We got a super cute photo of E from the photographer. She's smiling and adorable. I don't know how to post on here though, sorry.
Anything else to add? Not that I can think of.

How long has it been since you've given birth? Just over 5 weeks!
Are you coping well with having a newborn? Good! It's juggling a 2.5 year old and newborn that is my pain point right now.
How is your support system? Are they helping meet your needs? My DH is great, he has dealt with a lot especially with my health pp. he has stepped up and really makes sure I get the time I need for myself. We even finally started going out so I can get my mind off of things. My MiL and mom have also been big helps with stuff around the house and my DS1.
What areas are a struggle right now? Right now my blood pressure. It was still high 170/100 at my last check in. So now I am on higher dose of labetalol and I am also not taking hydralazine too. I am hoping everything goes back to normal as the meds are kicking my butt!
What is your favorite highlight of this past week? It would be getting out of the house as family. It was the first time all four of us went out and it was nice to enjoy our time together!
