After a perfect NST/BPP this morning, my BP decided to shoot through the roof at my OB appointment after lunch. Sent to L&D where I've been ever since. OB decided based on BP & Labs I'm not going home until baby is delivered, so c-section is scheduled for 8am (so in like 4 hours). Taitai may actually be the only one to see this before he's here. Lol Sadly, my worst fear has happened, and I've had to be on magnesium since about 1:30pm, and will have to remain on mag for 24 hours after delivery. I'm up posting right now because the mag headache has made it impossible to sleep. I'm 35+6, so we made it 2 weeks further than my first pregnancy. No idea yet if he'll need to go to the NICU. The state he's in when he's born will determine that. There will be a NICU team in the OR to immediately assess.

I was discharged before her, and it was hard, but I knew she was where she needed to be.

Big huge hugs!! I am so so sorry. Mag truly is the worst. It is it's own kind of hell. I can handle he constant BP checks, the compression boots, the catheter, all of it, if this damn headache would abate.

And then just a little while longer and you can be off it. How's your bp right now? Turn down the lights. Turn the ac as cold as possible. And know that you made it to 36. That's much further than you expected! Every moment past 34 was a true gift. Yes, he's still preemie. But, 36 is worlds better than where you started.

Ahhhh, I've been up at least 4 times tonight, clearly there is a reason I picked up my phone this time! I'm sorry about the mag, it sounds awful, I hope you are able to find some relief soon. Best wishes for a smooth cs and easy recovery for you both!

ssm, my BP is much better! I was admitted with 175/105, and we're trending in the 140's/80's. It took a while to get it down though, which is why they made the decision to deliver. They wanted to get the steroids on board, or else they were going to deliver last night. I had one dose at 2pm and my second at 2am, but MFM wants baby out sooner rather than later, so we're not waiting the full 24 hours between delivery and the first dose of steroids.

Oh my! mkrupar - I am so sorry for the magnesium and the BP getting out of control, but I am so glad they were able to lower it. Wow - another O17 baby is imminently arriving! I'll be thinking of you and praying for a smooth c-section. I also hope for as little (or no) NICU time as possible. Hang in there! ETA: I am tagged in and standing by to keep you company!!!!

For funsies, I found a magnesium Gif to entertain you 😁 Oops - mkrupar I meant to add that it's a gif of magnesium getting destroyed, which I figured you would appreciate since it sounds like a devil drug to be on. I hope you get off the mag as soon as possible. Still thinking about you!
