I'm so busy at work right now trying to get into the routine of a new school year. I'll have more time soon once we get into the swing of things. I read/check in often but don't always respond.

I'm a month away from fiscal year end at work and it is nuts. I'm so ready to be done with it all so I can be on the downhill to maternity leave.
I booked the rest of my doctors appointments through the end of November today so that was exciting.

My work sucks. My direct supervisor left and I'm really not liking the vibe. Just need to get through to Dec and then reevaluate.
I printed off things for an announcement, so I'm hoping to get dh and DD to take a pic this weekend.
I can't believe it's fall and football season already!!!

I'm around. I just haven't been feeling super chatty lately.
My school year is off to a good start. It doesn't hurt that if everything goes well, I'll work about three and a half months, have off for four and a half months, then go back for less than two months and then it will be summer break. Not too shabby!

We just changed over to a new fiscal year, and my boss's new job is starting now instead of December, so I'm getting her replacement up to speed on top of it (though her new replacement is not my boss, we reorganized the department so my new boss is actually an old boss from a few years ago. You stay at a place for 12 years, everything eventually becomes full circle). I also need to start documenting my daily stuff for when I'm out. Since my office is in DC, we can take up to 16 weeks of FMLA leave, and between short term disability and the insane amount of sick leave I've accumulated over the years, I'll be able to cover it, which is nuts. Right now I'm freaking out my ILs live on the west coast of FL, and their zone has been recommended for evacuation (not mandatory), but they are staying. I've got a bad feeling about this, and they know I'm super worried about them, but it's their call. If you're the praying type, please keep them and everyone in Irma's path in yours.

How much time are you taking off this school year for maternity leave? It will be just about 14 weeks. I can count our Christmas break and the northeast has a February vacation. Also going to include any snow days we use while I am out. How about you?

Also going to include any snow days we use while I am out. How about you? I can take six weeks using my sick days if it's a vaginal birth or eight weeks if it's a c-section, and then I can take 89 days unpaid, so I'm going to take every last day and go back in mid April.

I just chugged the orange drink for my GTT test. It was a nasty, but now I have an hour to sit in a comfy chair and read my book. This is my third time doing the GTT and I haven't failed yet, so fingers crossed.

I need to check the online portal today to see if it's posted. H said he has his Wilford Brimley jokes ready.

My doctor set my lab time at 8:20 and I had an appointment at 8:30 so when I got done with that I only had to wait about 10 min for the blood draw.
They did my tdap this week too at 28 weeks. Was not expecting that but I figured if I was going to feel like crap might as well do it all.

Also a flu shot at work this month as well. Apparently September = Shot Month! They already warned me the TDAP hurts - how was it?

I honestly didn't feel the needle go in and I used my right arm because I move it more through the day. I had a little bruise after but it was really NBD. I told the nurse I already gave myself 31 shots to get pregnant, what's one more? They still haven't released the flu shots here, but my doctor said to get it at work if they have it before she can get one for me.

We just got back from Rhodes on Saturday night and had a lovely day Sunday doing a "race for the cure" walk with/for my BFF followed by a long lunch at hers. She's already given us two huge bags of toys and books for baby, the first things we got for her Back to work tomorrow

So now I'm the only one up in the house at 6:30 Potentially silly FTM question - how do you tell the difference between kicks and hiccups? They were not as strong as kicks and at a very consistent interval. It was pretty apparent after about 30 secs of it happening every 2 seconds that they were hiccups. But it's the first time I've noticed hiccups with this baby

I don't think I'll need the tdap because I sliced my hand open earlier this year and got one. But I'm here to sympathize with all the shots. While we were lucky to not need to use fertility shots with this baby, between follistim for DD and being on Lovenox/heparin for 3 of the last 4 pregnancies, I added up about 2 months ago that I've given myself or dh has given me over 500 shots in my belly. And he wonders why I'm leaning towards 2 children and being done!

I think the rule of thumb is one tdap shot per pregnancy regardless of when it was last received, so it might be worth asking your doctor. I just had one last November and I have to get it again. Something about getting it in the third trimester passes some immunity along to the baby.

cakewench I think it depends on who's giving you the tdap. My H could barely move his arm after his and mine was totally fine. Both of us felt sick the day after the shot though. I'm not particularly looking forward to getting it again!

I didn't Remember getting it with DD and the urgent care dr said it isn't required for pregnancy which is why they gave it to me again with the cut, though I'm sure they just error on the cautious side. I'll have to remember to ask my dr since he didn't mention it.
