Here we are. So glad it's Friday. Even though it was a short week with having Monday off, it felt very long.

I have to scramble to get the house picked up today. DH invited his parents over for dinner. DH was supposed to be cooking dinner at SIL's (with his parents there too) but SIL is pretty PO'd at MIL so she called it off. Soooo....now his parents are coming here b/c DH felt back that he already promised to cook for them.

This week has felt SO LONG! My meds increased and I've just been so tired I can barely function. But Friday. Maybe tomorrow H will be nice and let me sleep in. My sister and I are going to visit my aunt tomorrow. She's had a few falls recently and I don't know how much time she has left. Not that she's like definitely going to die soon, but she's been in the decline for a while now and I don't visit her nearly enough because it's so inconvenient. I need to make the time.

LED, I hope you get adjusted to your change in meds soon. Sorry to hear about your aunt. Thanks. She's got pretty bad Parkinson's. Has been close to bedridden (can move to chair and bathroom with people helping her, in a nursing home) for several years now. But it's a slow disease. And she's not young. It just sucks. We're not close, though. I know that sounds bad to say, but I could count on my fingers, Maybe fingers and toes, the number of times I've seen her in my entire life. So it's sad, and I'd like to hello her feel better and give her company and to see Ridley because she loves kids. But it's not like a huge loss like it typically would be. That sounds cold of me, but it is what it is.

And it truly isn't as hard to deal with someone being ill or passing when you don't have that close relationship. I am in a similar situation with one of my uncles. He lived across the country when I was growing up, and now lives in Australia. I've seen him maybe 10 times in my life. He has cancer and came here to visit one last time about a month ago. It's sad, but not painful like it would be if it were an aunt or uncle that I am close with.

I only had a three day work week, but it felt like forever. Last night DS woke up at 11, H got him settled back down quickly, but then I woke up a few more times to him just randomly talking to himself. And then he was up for the day at 5:30. So I had a vat of coffee, and managed to plow through some laundry and chores this morning, but I'm thinking I'm going to join him in his napping pretty soon here. I'm also happy we have a pretty low key weekend ahead, so hopefully there'll be a chance to relax a little in there!

I made a fruit and veggie smoothie for lunch and Ridley drank the whole things so fast! Apparently it was a hit. Lol easiest lunch ever.

So I got called in today for the first time that I could actually make it. Last week they called me twice. The first time was DS' birthday which I couldn't do because I was picking up his cupcakes & going into his class & the second time was last Friday when DH had off & DS didn't & we had the day to ourselves. Of course. All this week they didn't call until today. I only worked 2 hours & 15 minutes. Lol I was at DS' school. I must have been asked eleventy times 'why are you here' when I was on 1st grade watch. I was even asked a couple times from the kinder kids. I didn't know DS was so darn popular. 2nd grade was a little more quieter but I did get asked twice as well. Like damn, I didn't know everybody knew me. This will just happen in this school though. The other schools no one should know me unless siblings of these kids have really good memories.

So I kind of have a wwyd. Tomorrow we're going to a birthday party DS was invited to for an hour. It's 3 hours though but DS has a soccer game so we gotta leave early. She lives closeby so it's feasible for us to at least swing by & let him hang for a bit. Because of this, I feel like he's most likely going to miss out on majority of food & also cake so he's not really consuming much. Do we really have to bring a gift? or at the least, it's okay if we go cheaper than we usually do?

I'm so exhausted! Back to school kicked my butt! But, today's class was just as lovely as yesterday so I'm super excited for a great year!
Today I'm taking DS to my grandparents for dinner. I love going over there! Later, I'm making pearberry jam and just relaxing.

You can find some good toys for pretty cheap at Walmart. I usually gauge the amount I am willing to spend on the how close DD is (or we are) to the child/family.

We have seen them around town plenty but we don't 'know' them. DS likes the girl from what I know, this is the first time they've had a class together so they're fairly new to each other. They did go to that STEM camp together on Labor Day & were super cute together but that's about it.

Well if she is into Barbie or Monster High dolls you can get some of those dolls for less than $10.00. Shopkins, Squinkies, Tsum Tsums, Puppies in My Pocket also run around $15 or less.

Though, I refuse to buy kids toys for their birthdays. Lol SO MANY TOYS!

I have been in a workshop the last two days. It has been miserable. I couldn't focus at all. My substitute didn't show up yesterday. Thankfully, the guidance counselor came in and realized it.
On the plus side, DH put some BBQ chicken in the crock pot earlier and it smells so good. Looking forward to dinner.
