Since I'm avoiding work, lets talk about random things. What is your least favorite chore? Anything you love to do?

I HATE cleaning the shower and kitchen floor, because I feel that it's dirty less than .5 seconds after it's clean. I have a cleaning lady who comes every other week so thankfully I don't have to do it that often, but when I do, I bitch and complain the entire time.

Umm.. all of them?
But for real, I think I hate cleaning the bathrooms the most. I don't understand how they get dirty so quickly and I'm pretty sure MH just shakes his toothbrush at the mirror because there's always a million little toothpaste splatters on it.
I like sweeping and mopping the most. I know it won't last long but I love it for the 3 seconds it's clean.

I pretty much just wanted to set the bathroom on fire after she used it once.

To be fair we both have electronic toothbrushes, but I still manage to brush my teeth twice a day without getting toothpaste splatter everywhere.

I hate cleaning the kitchen. DH is the cook and he is so messy.
I like weeding and doing laundry. I just hate putting the laundry away lol. I like cleaning the toilets and sinks, but the shower is a different story. We have a beautiful tile shower and it's such a pain in the ass to clean. I don't mind the plastic or whatever material they are showers/tubs though. Those are easy.

Also it should be noted that I rage clean and that was my go to in college. Like I was the one who cleaned the grimy bathroom I shared with three other girls, one of which I swear just poured liquid makeup next to the sink before applying it to her face.

I hate mopping. MIL got me a steam mop/vacuum combo for Christmas though, and that was kind of a game changer, because now I just use that all the time. I also hate dusting, because inevitably, I have to put away the 80 million things out on all the tables/shelves/whatever that don't belong there, and then dust. And dusting blinds is the wooooooorst.
I don't mind cleaning bathrooms for the most part, it's easy and I have it down to about a 20 minute science for most weekly basic cleanings, so I feel like I get a lot done in a short time. I also love after any time I'm able to clean while my kid is out of the house, and the whole house actually just looks kind of clean and nice, it makes me feel better, at least for the short time until DS and/or H get home and destroy it all over again.

lol jillywilly. Those are my exact feelings on cleaning as well. On weekend mornings MH takes the big kid to the store to do the shopping for the week and I clean while the baby naps. It's so nice when I'm done and able to enjoy it for 5 minutes before they come back and everything is disaster again.

jillywilly, I think if I could wrap my entire house in plastic warp after cleaning and it would stay nice, then I would probably like it more.

grumpycat,I am the queen of having baskets of neatly folded laundry around my house. K's drawers are a mess because I rarely put things away.

I only work four days a week right now, it's been my schedule since coming back from maternity leave. Now that H and I are pretty firmly one and done, I've been thinking about going back five days a week at some point in the next year. The thing I'm most looking forward to about this is H agreed that when this happens, we can get a cleaning person/service again. We had a cleaning lady in our old house, and my favorite thing every was every other Thursday coming home to a beautifully clean house.

No matter how hard I try, I can't get my house to smell as clean as when I first come home after she's left.

I hate putting things away. I don't mind washing dishes but I hate emptying the dishwasher. I don't mind doing laundry, but I hate putting it away. (This is partially because I have no closet or drawer space. I might not mind it as much of I didn't have to wrestle it away.)

No, I have floor to ceiling cabinets in my kitchen and it's still a hassle to put away.

Mostly because K insists on "helping" unload the dishwasher. Which usually means just taking the utensils out and hiding them in the couch, so I have to rewash them. When can I start assigning chores? lol

When can I start assigning chores? lol I assigned a lower kitchen cabinet to Leo and had a place to put his silverware and then a shelf for cup and a shelf for plates. He was maybe 18 mo when he'd help take his stuff from the machine and put it away.

I've never been a fan of chores but more so now that the place never stays clean. I did enjoy swiffering my hardwood floors. Loved to see my floors shine.
This is one of our arguments. DH likes the house clean. But only helps to deep clean...which he's been doing maybe once a month. And that's because I take the boys out. He expects the house to be clean on a weekly basis when 90% of time I'm home alone with the kids. Last night he was home before me and when I walked in I could tell he was in a bad mood. Why. Because the house was messy. I asked Leo to pick up all the toys and then went to load the dish washer. My goal is to clean something each evening. And usually that's kitchen or bathroom related. Even if it's something as simple as taking the garbage out of the bathroom. He even looked at the tub last night and asked why there was a ring of dirt on it....I said your toddler was filthy, you want me to clean the tub after every bath time?!? I was pissed and told him next time just clean and accept the fact that our house day-to-day is not going to be super clean.
end rant

She likes to carry them around. For a while her favorite toy was a little plastic knife from her kitchen playset that she would take with her everywhere. It looked like a little shank. It was.... something.

F that! The daily chores are such a different monster than deep cleaning. It's a never ending mountain of laundry, dishes, putting things away, and wiping down counters. I try to tackle as much as I can, but it's really easy to hit a wall and say "fuck it"

I literally cannot lift the mattress out to change the sheets so that's mh's job.

After tonight's shenanigans I will go with cooking. Both kids are at my feet the whole tome, and DD is trying to help. When I don't let her help (cut stuff, take things out of the oven, etc.) she throws a tantrum. When I do let her help, she gets stuff all over the floor, wastes a ton of food, and makes a giant mess. They will not stay away from hot stuff that could burn them, so I yell. It is so stressful.

I really hate vacuuming the carpeted stairs. It is so difficult and time consuming to move the vacuum down each stair and I have to balance it with one leg so it doesn't topple over.
Also scrubbing the bathtub is annoying. Soap scum doesn't seem to come off easily.
I actually like laundry. It is so easy as the machine does all the work and I just switch it. I even learned how to do my Kon Mari folding super quick so my stuff fits in my drawers. I don't really told a lot either as many things are hung up, so I take the basket to the rooms and then only fold what needs to go in a drawer.

Mine aren't usually that bad but trying to cook with 2 kids either crying or wanting your attention is stressful enough. It's hard to keep an even keel when all your LO is "helping". (also, I yell a lot too when I'm using the oven, dnw any burns).

I only have the stairs going down to the basement and I let them go un-vacuumed for so long it was gross. And when I did vacuum it was a hot, sweaty chore that I'd rather delegate to my H.

If I try to cook, ds needs to be involved in every way and held or in constant conversation. Like I can't toast a bagel without him up my butt. I don't understand it.

After reading the UO thread in general discussions, I'm changing my least favorite chore to ironing. I hate it so, so, so much. I basically refuse to do it unless it's for an interview or if I'm prepping fabric.
