That's great bellatrix! DD starts tomorrow. I am so nervous! She was super shy at the open house last night, but I think it was a bit overwhelming for her. Hell, it was for me.

Operation big boy bed was a success! He went to sleep after pulling basically every book off his shelf and "reading" them in bed, but he was sound asleep, head in pillow, and tucked under his blankie when I checked on him before I went to bed. When I went to wake him up this morning, he was sleeping like this:

I'm sure she will do great. Thanks! It's going to be a big change in a lot of ways for her. Her preschool was very small and only part time. So not only will she be in school with a lot more kids, she's also going to be there all day every day. Her class is about the same size as her preschool, so hopefully that will make it a little easier on her. I see the cafeteria and the playground where all the kids from different classes are combined as the potential issue. She really struggles in crowds of people. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. FX she'll actually tell me how her day went when she gets home tomorrow.

Phew! I got confirmation that DS' bff will be at the party. The last I left off with his mom was we offered to pick him up because she's going to be out of the country so her husband may be busy with his dad who is visiting from their country, etc so she said he's bringing him. Allelu. I didn't really care about most of the kids but him. Lol Yesterday he came home & said that he saw his mom in the hallway & she said he was coming & to 'ask your mom.' I said do you mean 'tell your mom.' Ughh it sucks having a speech impaired kid. Lmfao so I texted her a little bit ago saying I just wanted to make sure he heard it right. LOL hopefully she didn't take that as me saying something about her accent. Fak.

If that is the case, it might be a little less overwhelming especially once she gets to know her classmates. For recess, does she have any friends from preschool who are going to the same school but not in her class? I know this won't change the fact that there might be crowds but maybe it would help if she knew she could meet up with friends there?

I would suspect that it is because it doesn't make sense for it not to be at this age. That being said, I am really not sure. We really didn't get that type of information at orientation or the open house. And I didn't think to ask. Her preschool was in a different district b/c my MIL had to watch her while I work and she doesn't live near us. Soooo...it's a whole new group of kids where she doesn't know a single one.

Hi ladies!
DS is enjoying K but he's been cranky and annoying at home. I'm just trying to ride it out because he does seem to do well while at school. I think he's tired and still adjusting to the change.
We start soccer today after school so we'll see how that goes. This time he's actually on a team and will be playing games. I hope he likes it!

I remember having to just sit wherever at lunch but that was 30 years ago lol. I never really thought about it, it probably is the norm to have kids sit with their classes. It's too bad none of her pre-k friends will be at the same school.
