Since we are getting closer to October, let's do a VBAC check in. No pressure here either on VBAC or RCS. This is a safe space!
Are you 100% planning to VBAC or are you still deciding? If still on the fence, what would you project yourself at % wise?
Is your OB/MW supportive? Do you have any restrictions on your VBAC such as must go into labor before due date?
Any concerns or fears?
What would you most look forward to if your VBAC was successful?

Are you 100% planning to VBAC or are you still deciding? If still on the fence, what would you project yourself at % wise? I decided when I got pregnant I was going to try for a VBAC. The only reason why I had a csection was b/c DS was breached. I keep hearing horror stories about vag births which make me second guess my decision lol.
Is your OB/MW supportive? Do you have any restrictions on your VBAC such as must go into labor before due date? OB was somewhat hesitant about it. She was basically like well we have to see. I was a little surprised. I know I'm high risk but csection only came up last time b/c he was breached. I guess she just assumed I would go for another csection. This baby is head down and they'll let me try for a VBAC but won't let me go beyond 39 weeks. So they scheduled me for a csection for Oct 24th. So no halloween baby for DH. Any concerns or fears? Being in labor for days lol. I have a history of pre-e and PTL so I'm more worried about that then a VBAC.
What would you most look forward to if your VBAC was successful? Recovery time and not being scared to look at a healing csection scar lol.

Are you 100% planning to VBAC or are you still deciding? If still on the fence, what would you project yourself at % wise? Im 100% all in. I had a successful VBAC w DS2. Even though I pushed for 3 hours and needed stitches it was night and day difference on my recovery. My labor with DS1 didn't progress very well bc we did don't realize until my water broke that he was in a position that can't be delivered vaginally. My labor with DS2 went much more quickly. I went from 5 to 9 super fast and almost didn't get my epidural in time! 😱 Is your OB/MW supportive? Yes. My practice with DS1 did not perform VBACs. I switched practices when pg w DS2. My hospital and MFM are very pro VBAC. Do you have any restrictions on your VBAC such as must go into labor before due date? None. This helped me the first time. They would let me go to 42 weeks though I know I won't. I don't like when I see practices put an early date on it. If that was me I'd start seeing an acupuncturist early and do everything from the old wives tales beginning at 38 weeks. Any concerns or fears? Just that this baby will be breech or something. Now that I know the delivery difference and willhabe 2 kids at home I want the VBAC even more. What would you most look forward to if your VBAC was successful? not having surgery. Not feeling like my insides are coming out. Not having the open incision. Walking. Moving my arms. I was over medicated w DS1 and had the C at 10:30 pm so those circumstances could be avoided if a C was planned and medicated correctly. I said this before but I can be a cautious/risk adverse person but for some reason I was all in for the VBAC. I was never scared. I never waivered and this helped me personally stick it out. Just bc you have a VBAC doesn't mean it will be an easy breezy recovery either but my recovery w DS1 was so bad that anything seemed better. I didn't bond faster w DS2 or feel more like a natural powerful woman (barf I hate that reasoning I felt more powerful having a freaking awful surgery for my child) but I did feel like myself faster. littleowl913 I also refused to look at my incision. It scared the crap out of me. I made H look at it if needed. I basically never see it.

Lol, I made H check the incision. I don't think I've ever actually looked at mine.
I had considered a VBAC and was told I would have to go in to labor on my own before 39 weeks in order for that to happen.
With all my risks and the MFM recommendation of 37 week RCS, that all went out the window. She told me flatly after the pre-e and GD diagnosis that I wasn't a candidate for VBAC.
I'm actually ok with this because at least I know what to expect in terms of recovery. I will also be able to avoid magnesium if I make it to the RCS date, and I'm having my tubes tied while they're in there.

I really do/did want to go for a VBAC this time for a quicker recovery period, less days in the hospital, and the ability to keep picking up my toddler (who is well over the weight for lifting restriction.) My practice is extremely supportive. However- baby is currently transverse. If she does not flip, obviously I will need a RCS. I'm starting to resign myself that this is a very real and likely possibility
