I think we mentioned doing this in the randoms threads. August Blooms, riverraine, rebeccabunch...anyone else I am forgetting...come on in! Also, I suck at check ins and could only think of below questions. Feel free to add more if I've missed something. When did training start? Using any specific method/book? Issues/struggles/vents? Successes? Questions for BTDT moms?

When did training start? Weekend of August 18.
Using any specific method/book? No, my coworker sent me a guide that was passed to her from someone else.
Issues/struggles/vents? I've talked about this in the Randoms. She is fighting going to the bathroom on occasion and most of the time will not tell us when she needs to go. She also won't poop on the potty.
Successes? Not feeling like there are any but she does have minimal accidents even if we are initiating her going.
Questions for BTDT moms? Any books or blogs recommendations especially for troubleshooting PT issues.

Hi guys! I'll jump in here When did training start? 18 months (he is now 20 months) Using any specific method/book? nothong official Issues/struggles/vents? I'm hoping we are out of this regression! He was doing so good then all last week he would pee at least once a day in his pants. Thinking maybe it was a wonder week because he seemed to start properly using some more words all of a sudden. So who knows. Successes? Thankfully the last 2 days he's used the potty all day again AND even got up from nap when he was almost asleep to poop! I was really impressed with that, could have been a procrastination tactic from nap lol but I'll take it as a potty training positive haha he also has been telling me when out and about that he needs to go (still in diapers when we leave the house) but yay! Questions for BTDT moms? Not today!

August Blooms the fighting to sit times drive me crazy, especially if once I do get him to sit he ends up going! And I'm just like "see dude i knew it, I told you you had to go!" Power to ya' keep up the good work!

Thanks for starting this Taitai! When did training start? Weekend of August 25. DS is 30 months. Using any specific method/book? Loosely using the Tiny Potty Training book just because my next door neighbors used it and gave it to us. Issues/struggles/vents? My biggest frustration is how unpredictable each day is. Friday he had 0 accidents, Saturday he had 3, and then yesterday he did great except for one accident at the park literally 5 minutes after I asked if he needed to pee. He initiates going by himself maybe 40 or 50% of the time, but the other 50% is a struggle because he's stubborn and resists going if we prompt too much. Today is his first day back at his regular daycare so I'm really curious to get a report on how things go. Successes? Today he got up at 6:15 and said he needed to pee and poop, and did so in the potty rather than going in his night diaper, so that was a win despite the early wakeup. Questions for BTDT moms? When do we start night training? Wait until he starts waking up dry (will that ever happen?) or just pull the plug at some point?

I think we mentioned doing this in the randoms threads. August Blooms, riverraine, rebeccabunch...anyone else I am forgetting...come on in! Also, I suck at check ins and could only think of below questions. Feel free to add more if I've missed something. When did training start? Using any specific method/book? Issues/struggles/vents? Successes? Questions for BTDT moms? When did training start? August 19th, he's 34 months. Using method/book? Oh Crap, Potty training. Issues/struggles/vents: I think we are past our hurdles. He did great right away with pee, regressed when we out pants on, struggled with poop from the start and went through refusing to go. It was frustrating for a while but it clicked after I realized he's was afraid to poop and I focused on that. This is gross but I told him when he poops in the potty he gets to see the pop swimming and then say bye bye. For some reason this weird/gross statement got him. He's now going daily unprompted. Oh, he tries to play us and as soon as we walk out of his room he asks to go potty. He kept doing this so now he gets to go one time after he's in his crib. Successes: I think it's been a success. Watching his big brother helped. I can be very strict/regimented when I choose to be so the devote 3 day method works for us. He's on the older end which helped. He's home based with us or a nanny (pre school starts Friday!) and that helped. We went no where for almost a week, no undies still, I was over prompting and I backed off and that I helped. Questions: nope riverraine we still nap diaper and night diaper. He's doing the same thing as your DS waking and needing to go right away. We will drop nap diaper in a month or two or drop night sometime in the future. I think it was 9 months for DS1.

rebeccabunch I'm LOLing at your solution to the poop problem. Hey, whatever works! Update: No accidents at daycare today! All the kids had to leave early because of the wildfires so it was just a half day but still thrilled. The teachers said he went when all the other kids went and did great.

When did training start? June-ish
Using any specific method/book? I started out using the Oh Crap! method
Successes? - DD magically daytrained herself. Like a unicorn. We've had maybe 5 accidents in the almost three months since June.
Questions for BTDT moms? DD is daytrained and naptrained. We still put her in a diaper at night. 1 - because we had a gazillion size 4s left and 2 - I didn't want to deal with waking her to potty train or limit liquids or whatever.
However, DDs been waking up dry consistently for two weeks now (before she might have been wet 1 morning a week before I get her up). So it's probably time forgo diapers and just suck it up and night train or wear underwear to bed or whatever??? Like should I just stick her in underwear and see what happens? We do a "use the potty before bed" thing now and then again when she wakes up and since she's been consistently dry from that I shouldn't need to wake her (wishful thinking?!). Any btdt advice?

Today's update... No accidents at daycare and then this evening I knew she needed to poop because her farts were terrible. I tried taking her when I needed to go and she refused. I ignored her and she went back to the bathroom a few minutes later and I went to check and she was pulling done her own pants. I helped her up and she did a pee and a poop!
She's home with me tomorrow so we will see if this continues.🤞

I'm here! DD is currently 22 months old.
When did training start? June
Using any specific method/book? Nope, just winging it!
Issues/struggles/vents? We have poop totally down, working on pee (I know, kinda backwards.)
Successes? So this all started in June because she would poop and take her diaper off immediately. We thought, hey let's buy a potty, give her some instruction and see what happens and she just immediately started telling us poop and pooping in it. We figured pee would follow but it hasn't---it seems it's a combination of not predicting the sensation as easily as poop and also not caring if her diaper/pull up/real underwear even is wet. We have made some progress by offering an M&M as a bribe. We also have had success just sitting her on there and saying let's try vs asking her. However, we are nowhere near the point where she could make it through the day dry.
Questions for BTDT moms? Anyone else have any suggestions or should we just keep taking it slow and hope she catches on?

riverraine and danvers We were kind of crazy and went all in with the potty training for sleeping and day times - right from the start. DS had a few night accidents, but he hasn't had one since June. He's never had a nap accident since we got rid of diapers. I think if the kiddo knows that diapers just are not around anymore and not an option at all - they might not want to wet/poo themselves in their own bed? I dunno. DS still does wake up in the middle of the night and call for us to go to the potty. That is normally anywhere from midnight to 3am. DS has always been a terrible sleeper, so we're used to MOTN wake ups, and it wasn't a big deal for us. After he goes pee, he is always back asleep in his big boy bed within 2 min. Oh - we also did the potty training at the same time we did big boy bed (twin mattress on floor platform bed), so I wonder if that is why he adapted so well To no diapers for sleeping? My advice is to just go for it and see what happens - if you think your kids are waking up dry from naps and overnight sleep. You might be surprised and the accidents will be few and far between!

I was so tired last night that I posted and didn't even answer my own check-in! Whoops!
When did training start? We started back in May, DS was 26 months at the time. He is 2.5 yrs now.
Using any specific method/book? Oh Crap! Potty Training book. Loved it and agreed with the author's philosophy.
Issues/struggles/vents? DS took to PT really well, esp considering we started potty training right before our house got eaten by bugs and we had to do an emergency move...and then another move from the temporary stay place to our new permanent home...poor DS. So basically May to Aug was really good, we just had a little regression in June when DS started wearing undies. That only lasted for a few days and then he got back on track.
Last week and the week before, DS must have been going through a leap or something, because he suddenly didn't want to go to the potty and was holding it so long he was dribbling in his pants once or twice a day. Not full on pee pants, but enough to leave a few spots of pee visible from the outside. Only then would he go potty and let all the pee out. It was so hard to not over prompt him and force him to go to the potty. I didn't want him to develop an aversion to it or somehow traumatize him.
Successes? Luckily, DS just kind of snapped out of whatever phase he was in the last 2 weeks, and now he's going to the potty without protesting. No more dribble pee accidents either.
Questions for BTDT moms? Any TTM have experience with potty training regressions when a new baby arrives? The book warned about that, as our toddlers will be seeing the new baby in diapers. I guess some kids regress and ask for diapers so they can get attention like the baby? Anyone have experience with this or tips on what to do to avoid it?
