Milestones: He's been following my movements.
Good/Bad from the week: good: I'm enjoying my time with him. Bad: lack of sleep is really getting to me.
Questions: When is your babys witching hours? A starts from about 5pm until I can get him to sleep. Anywhere from 7:30-9.

God I am not looking forward to witching hour 😥 I know. It's the worst 😫 If it's any reassurance, not all kids have it or some that do have it, it is tolerable.

Age: 2 weeks today! Milestones: he slept almost four hours last night so I got almost three straight hours!! He does amazing at lifting his head during tummy time. Good/Bad from the week: G- we went to an LC BF group and he weighed slightly more than his birth weight, which relieved some anxiety about BFing for me. B- my boob/nipple issue. My crying meltdown. Questions: this morning he seemed like he was really focused on pooping- usually it's like nothing for him - we hear farts and it's like wooosh coming out. But this morning he was grunting and his belly was tightening as if he were straining, and then there was just a small amount of poop in his diaper. Is it something I ate that made him constipated? How do I know? If I eat something that makes my tummy hurt will it make his tummy hurt? PICS!! I'm obsessed with how he frequently puts his hand on one side of his face. He does it a lot and it's adorable!!

My middle one is my challenging one so I commiserate. He was borderline colic all through infancy but I think it's just his personality now. He's a fierce little one. I remind myself that he's going to be my little world changer 😬 even if he causes me to sprout some grays before I'm 30.

Age: 3w1d Milestones: first diaper blowout; moved up to 0-3M clothes and size 1 diapers (those are definitely related 😂) Good/Bad from the week: Good: we are frequently getting 4 and 5 hour stretches of sleep at night. Bad: any time H tries to hold her she fusses and cries until I take her back 😔 Questions: I can't remember from DS - what age do you start cutting fingernails? DD keeps scratching up her face. I've been putting socks on as mittens but they usually don't stay on very long PICS!!

I've already cut M's nails jexxaaddymac, we are having the opposite problem, she poops constantly like I'm wondering if that is an issue. Not huge every time but something! Ugh this newborn thing is tricky sometimes

5 weeks 2 days Good:. Sleeping most of the night! Though I still am up for a few hours between 2:30 and 5:30?
Bad: witching hour between 9 and 11 sucks. And it is not regular so we never know when we will have a good night
Q: my toddler goes after his mat so we never really have him on his tummy unless he is laying on one of us. I didn't do much tummy time with my daughter either so should I really stress about it?

D's witching hour is in the MOTN.. usually around 2 or 3am... It is rough and i wish it.was during daytime cause everything seems harder when tis dark and quiet and you are ohso tired.
Trying to get used to the new check ins- will post properly tomorrow!

Age: 2 weeks
Milestones: No idea
Good: she's been sleeping pretty well, we usually get one 3-4 hour stretch overnight which is great. I hope it keeps up! Bad: BFing still sucks. She also is wide awake from about midnight to 3 or 4 am, which is rough.
Questions: How many diapers are they actually supposed to have at this point. This kid has a ton of dirty diapers, how do I know if it's too many??

cali, I'm terrible at keeping track, but it's a lot! Seemed like every time I changed him, he'd poop right away. Now it has seemed to slow down at 4 weeks. But not by much.

jt2378 @easilyunamused Ok, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I feel like it's minimum eight poops a day, but may be even more. I should probably start keeping track.

Age: 2.5 weeks
Milestones: went for his first stroller ride and fussed, lol. Had his first home bath (I know. I should probably have bathed him prior to this)
Good/Bad from the week: From 7 to 11 at night, he acts totally ravenous, constantly on the boob, making me feel like I need to supplement. My SIL is convinced he's fussy rather than hungry and suggested we try a paci. He hates poor paci and cried till he got more milk from a bottle. On my boob, he drinks and then gets frustrated and grunts and pulls when it's empty. I feel like I don't have enough milk for him. I'm so frustrated and wish I knew for sure if he really needs supplemented or is only acting hungry. Dh is convinced he's hungry and wants to give him like 4 oz. I'm out of pumped milk so it will be formula. Sigh.
Questions: I guess the above rant was kind of a question

thinkchocolate05 I would try to supplement and see if he acts satiated. Remember that fed is best.

Age: 4 weeks Milestones: so alert, out of newborn, follows with eyes, knows me.. he sleeps good.
Good/Bad from the week: good-- he is gain weight great and eating great. He is much alert during day and settles at night. He sleeps through anything which is nice with a crazy toddler. Bad-- he eats constantly to the point that I don't think I am giving him what he needs. He cluster feeds at all random times. He also gives 1 solid 4 hour stretch for sleep then feeds. After that feeding for some reason he is so gassy. It's a battle for over a hour to get him settled.
Questions: anyone else baby gassy? What works? He usually does a good job getting him self over it, but I am gonna ask pedi to test diaper. I want to know if he has protien allergies like DS1 had for the first few months. We just started with gas drops and I do have the windi's, but waiting to use that.

thinkchocolate05 - N was the same last night- breastfed at 7 and was just so fussy. I had 70cc in the fridge and DH was convinced he was just fussy not hungry so he was doing everything he could to soothe him, finally at 9 he agreed to let me warm up the milk- kid took the whole thing and was still being a fussbot. Finally at 10 I pumped again because my nipples are feeling raw and I figured he could bottle feed whatever I pumped for his next feeding around 12/1... nope at 11 we fed him the 80cc I pumped because he was in beast mode..... and then I breastfed him at midnight again! And THEN he slept til 4am. But he was SO FUSSY I felt terrible because I'm pretty sure he was hungry and I didn't have enough milk to satiate him in one sitting, I had to divide it up, because DH was still convinced he was just fussy and not hungry and doesn't want to break out the formula. 😒 At least I just got a nice chunk of sleep-ish- I kept waking up to check on him 😣

Age: 14weeks/ 1w+4 corrected Milestones: both hold up their heads and have good control and listen when we speak. Good/Bad from the week: Evie had to go to wound care for her diaper rash. The combo they came up with almost instantly made it better. I'm still wondering why her NICU didn't know about this mix of meds/ointments since she was battling this rash while still admitted. She also had her white. Blood cell count bottom out but the hematologist is happy with her current tests and is monitoring her weekly. Benji had a great OT appointment! I'm exhausted and don't see that ending anytime soon. The MIL arrived last week to help. Problem 1) she's a fall risk so she can't walk and carry a baby at the same time 2) she refuses to do the preemie hold when feeding or even hold the bottle with her hands so I no longer let her help feed 3) she kept an eye on Benji while I napped and when I woke up I found out she had him watching TV 😤so, yay, napping is no longer an issue unless both babies are sleeping in the same room as me. 4) she's here until December Here's some pics of our matchy-matchy morning:
