Good morning! Dd slept until 9 so I'm rested and feel awesome. Also, she finally said mommy! I'm ecstatic! We are seriously seeing a huge shift in her words this past week. It makes me so happy because during the last 6 months it has been frustrating and a mind fuck. I thought I was failing my kid since she was not talking. It feels amazing to see her progress.

budders....My couch is full of folded laundry right now. And more to fold. Tomorrow it should get put away but we have been horribly behind lately. Usually the washing and drying is pretty caught up....the folding and putting away doesn't always happen This is what happens at my house too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can commiserate as I, too, have an embarrassing amount of laundry to do this weekend. I always say I'm going to do a little here and there on weeknights, but it doesn't happen as often as I'd like :/ I'm the absolute worst at laundry. I'm pretty good at washing it, but not so much at folding it and the worst at putting it away. I need to figure out a better system, because mine does not work. My new system is letting my do it because he hated my old system which was just like yours. I do the diaper laundry and help when he does it, because if it was up to just me we would never have folded clothes.

Most of the time I only end up putting away laundry because I need the basket to bring another load downstairs to wash.

LED hopefully you guys have a lazy rest day to catch up. Love the pictures! K wasn't into the cake either, we didn't do a smash cake, but she barely touched her mini cake and kept giving side eye. It was her first time having sugar so I think she was a little overwhelmed.

I've been known to leave clean laundry in the basket for days before putting it away. K's clothes are almost forever like this. This is me. Then I have a huge pile of dirty clothes. I hate putting laundry away. It's such a pain in our house we have no closet space and can only fit tiny dressers in the room. I have donated so many clothes quarterly yet we still have no space to store the clothes we have. I think my fiancé is the problem he refuses to get rid of any of his clothes. I'm like hey get rid of that shirt it's a crop top on you! He can't part ways with the shirt for some reason.

When we moved into our new house, it forced me to consolidate my wardrobe. The house was built in the 1800s so the closets are tiny. One bedroom doesn't even have a closet. I made a capsule wardrobe and it has changed my life. I spend less time trying to figure out what to wear and I only buy clothes that will go with everything and that fit well.

@shielathetank this is my goal. I want to lose the "baby weight" first before I invest in a new wardrobe.

@shielathetank this is my goal. I want to lose the "baby weight" first before I invest in a new wardrobe. For me personally, this mindset was holding me back. I was always waiting to "lose the weight". I was holding onto clothes from college that were several sizes smaller in case I miraculously lost 40lbs. Accepting my current size post baby and getting rid of anything that didn't fit was seriously freeing. I emptied my entire closet, tried on everything and put it into: no, yes, maybe as far as fit. The maybe went into a bag and I take it out in 6 months. If it still doesn't fit in 6 months I donate it. the no was donated immediately and the yes pile I kept and used that to build my wardrobe. I only had to buy a handful of essential pieces. Not a ton. Right now the only thing I need is a pair of nice universal flip flop sandals, a pair of black capris for work, and some jean capris. It also helped me to go in with the belief that I did not care what size I was I just wanted clothes that were comfortable and fit. That was hard at first but since sizing varies so widely, it really is only a number.

I did buy shorts for the first time in 2 years which is a huge step for me. I was literally wearing maternity leggings for a year after having dd.

I still wear nursing shirts that don't scream "EASY BOOB ACCESS" because they fit and are nice quality. The whole process of accepting your post partum self is so hard. Even I did lose all the weight I still have a ton more skin, my boobs are completely different, and I have stretch marks for days. It took me a long, long time to see this. Be kind to yourself through it. oh and I blame the people who make maternity clothes for making them so damn comfy. Fuck going back to pants with zippers and buttons when you have soft stretchy spandex. Would wear maternity pants any day over regular ones.

Hi everyone. Jumping in again. Two littles with pneumonia really kicked my butt, but thankfully both boys are finally on the mend. Meal planning and cuddling with the baby while the toddler plays in the yard and H gets lunch ready. Drinking some coffee too, of course!

I think I need more coffee even though I slept fairly well last night. Either that or a nap once DS goes down for his.
We went food shopping this morning and I let DS talk me into a Spider-Man Duplo set. Now I can make actual food again!

We bought DS his first bike today. He can't seem to figure out the pedals. We tried to show him many times but he's just not getting it. I'm hoping he figures it out soon because biking hasn't been a great experience so far but I know he'll love it once he gets the hang of it. I'm watching Sesame Street season 40 episode 24 called Abbys Tricycle. It shows how to ride a tricycle and a bicycle. Maybe have him watch it a couple times. It's on hulu. My 2.5 yo spent the last month sitting on the trikes at DC without peddling & this past week something clicked and he peddles now. Your LO will get it sooner or later.

It took me forever to accept that that probably wasn't going to happen. After my February baby I was finally just like "no, I've had two kids and they are the best things in my life. I need to stop denying that they've changed my body just like they've changed everything else in my life, and just embrace it." Now I still occasionally buy from Motherhood Maternity for my postpartum wardrobe because some of their stuff is cute and I still carry a lot of weight in my stomach so it's flattering.

I am still getting over this cold. I think pregnancy makes all sicknesses worse. I did go out shopping today for too much junk food for my kids. My five year old is eating so much right now and with her home during the summer, I needed to stock up. I want to get a freezer and buy more things so she has options.

I love only having a few items to wear when pregnant. It makes it so simple. I want to cut down on my clothes and may do a trim here soon. Get rid of things I don't love.

So, stupid question probably. I'm taking Lexi swimming for the first time at a friend's house next weekend. Bought her a one-piece swimsuit at target that snaps at the bottom. I assume I need to get her some swim diapers to wear under it? Right?

B just went down for a morning nap. Laundry and cleaning out the inside of my car on my to do list. Maybe a run to Target to get a birthday present for the party we have on Saturday.
It just started raining and is kind of chilly out so no fun really planned.

I assume I need to get her some swim diapers to wear under it? Right? They make reusable and disposable ones. I have heard of people using both at the same time or doubling up on the disposable. I believe I have heard that public pools sometimes have rules about using one or the other or both. Maybe ask the friend what she recommends..... If she has a pool she probably has some experience and possibly a preference. I would probably go a disposable under a reusable....

FIL wants to go out to see about riding in a glider this morning, but yesterday he said some super shitty racist things, so I'm not thrilled about being in a car with him for hours. Maybe I'll just let them take R and I'll stay here? I've never been away from her that long before, though, so I don't know. Though I guess maybe it's time.
