I know some of us are planning on bottle feeding whether it be supplementing or formula feeding exclusively. So I figured we could discuss our favorite bottles, formula, etc.

FYI for anyone interested and who may not know, if you sign up with formula companies you often get cans of formula as samples and formula checks.

We got an insane amount if sample cans and travel packets for free last time. My OB also gives out slips where you can call Enfamil and they send you a free six pack if premuxed liquid.

I'm planning to attempt breast feeding again, but I crashed and burned hard last time. I know H appreciated the ease of formula over thawing breast milk once he was Mr. Mom when I went back to work. We'll likely habe some on hand this go around despite my plans.
I did not warm formula. It was always just room temperature. And we used tap water. My kid's totally fine.

I don't have experience here, but I will say that for heating any kind of bottle, a mini crick pot is AMAZING. They are usually pretty cheap and can be found at Salvation Army or Good Will for $1-2 here. Oh may even know someone who has one they don't use, if that someone isn't you. They are made to hold temperature and are okay left plugged in.

I let her eat off the floor, get extra dirty, and and all that shit. #moty

Honestly my favorite bottles were the super cheap Gerber ones that come in two sizes. I was forever leaving them places, which didn't matter since they were like $4 for 3. I plan on doing those again this time around, and I'm glad the tops have different colors (I'll assign one for each twin).

We used these bottles with ds3 There are a lot of parts but they are easily cleaned in the dishwasher. They really helped a lot with gas.

Definitely makes things easier, especially night feedings. I'd have bottles with formula measured out in them and a bottle of water. Pour water, shake, feed baby, done. No going down to the kitchen with a hungry baby needing a warm bottle.

If this baby can't breastfeed she'll be my third formula fed baby. Love the Dr Browns pitcher. DS loved the players nurser bottles and DD loved the thin necked glass evenflo bottles. Room temp formula is the way to go if you haven't made up a batch Ahead of time otherwise we warmed it up. We always use tap water since neither of the kids were preterm or I'll. As for formula it can be hit or miss. DS could not tolerate anything but enfamil gentle ease. DD1 is currently on Walmart brand.

I've never used glass before

We used medela bottles and nuk bottles when DS needed bigger sizes. He wasn't too picky. We also didn't warm up formula or breastmilk. It got warmed up at daycare though. Just took the chill out if it was refrigerated. We used tap water.
Munchkin bottle brushes are awesome. Specific drying Rack for bottles is a good idea too. Munchkin makes a good one.
I always filled out those feeding surveys sent out and won one of those drawings for $50. It was a nice surprise.

At least one of these is a must: www.target.com/p/munchkin-formula-dispenser/-/A-13991505Great for being on the go or keeping by the bed at night. My kids were room temp formula babies. We either used the dispenser and filled the bottles with water to combine later or measured out the formula into the bottle and added water later when we traveled. DS liked NUK brand bottles, but DD preferred Playtex. It's always an adventure figuring out what they like best. Don't invest in too many until you know for sure! They both took either Target or Walmart brand sensitive formula for the first 6 months or so. We switched to advanced after that.

They both took either Target or Walmart brand sensitive formula for the first 6 months or so. We switched to advanced after that. This came up in one of my other groups. You're actually not supposed to do that as you get the incorrect powder-to-water ratio (because of the space the powder takes up). You're always supposed to add the water first THEN the powder. quinnI don't know that there are any advantages per se. We like them but we were given them so. Initially we had some of the small gerber bottles that someone mentioned above and she liked those too, but they're the same size nipple so that's more than likely the site of her preference. If you're into being crunchy or environmentally conscious or careful about plastics, I guess glass offers an advantage there.

Oh and +1 for specific drying rack. With plastic bottles we used the playtex drying rack and it was fine. With the glass bottles, they're too heavy for most of the bottle drying racks so we throw them on our regular drying rack and use the playtex drying rack for rings, nipples, etc.
Also bottle brushes are the bomb dot com.

We were pretty lucky DD didn't give a crap, esp because we started supplementing around 10 months. She was also fine with room temp breast milk. It made things so easy! For going out, we would just put dry formula in bottles and add water as needed.
