We ended up at the aquarium. Which is great because it's 80 and so sticky. Now we're eating lunch at Tom and chee. Then car naps if I'm lucky.

Cadence has been wild this morning. Then Caillou came on. She is now sitting quietly watching (she's never seen it before). I know I should hate this whiney cartoon character, but my kid can apparently relate.

Racoons are really smart and have opposable thumbs. Do. Not. Trust. Edited because sand is not the same as and. We had raccoons growing up. They are horrible. Raccoons remind me of the bloggess.

It is an older show on Nick...a little kid (Dan) sees dinosaurs in his everyday life but no one else sees them. My k8ds are both obsessed. So it's about a child with schizophrenia? Basically, haha.

csho , I guess because I've never been on the website and only use Tapatalk that I never even noticed that. Thanks. I actually don't own a smartphone...so I'm never on the app/mobile version. Noob is such an annoying word, like "moist" but I'm happy being apprentice forever! No smart phone? I thought my brother was the only one left under 50 with a flip phone! I work with a guy who doesn't have a cell phone at all. He is the only person I know without one.

Afternoon. Took E to soccer this morning and now I'm on my way to the airport. Traffic sucks, but drinks with Sing awaits me on the flip side, so it's worth it.
I hope my kids and H are all in one piece when I get home Monday. 😂

Can someone talk to my kid about personal space? The placing toys on me is driving me crazy.

I'm avoiding small Legos for as long as possible, especially as we enter mobile baby zone soon. Magnatiles, duplos, and train tracks are our building things for now.

N has HFM, blerg. The fever seems to be gone and the blisters are popping up on her hands. Fingers crossed it's a mild case.
This is operation me entertain both kids all weekend so MH can study. So far it's not going great. We went to playground and promptly start raining, and then library, and then Redbox to get a movie if he behaves...and on the way out he threw a wonderful tantrum and I had to figure out how to swap kids from stroller to carrier. Now entering battle zone for nap time. I get anxious on weekends about naptime since it's so hit or miss.

Happy long weekend! csho when you first started posting again and you were talking about finding your way around your new city- maybe to a Target or something- I was clearly confused, but didn't ask because it never dawned on me that you didn't have a smart phone. I was thinking... does she not know the greatness that is google maps app?? Lol Now it makes more sense. You are one brave woman navigating a new city without a smartphone! nam2013 I'm the complete opposite, but I grew up in a very humid climate. Ever since moving away, when I go back in the summer, it hits me like a ton of bricks, but I still prefer the heat to the cold weather. Glad you all are back safely and in the comfort of your home vino. kamakaziartist how did the market go? calimocho safe travels!

Ok. Iknow we had a big thread about this in the other place, but I have pt questions
We've started and stopped a bunch over the past few months, but I really want to do this now. So...
1). He's gone on the potty periodically over the past 6 months- maybe a total of 6 or 7 times, but only 1 time cuz he asked, the others cuz he was sitting or standing there. I've had him in pull ups this morning. Did you all just put underwear on even if they hadn't had much success yet?
2) if you did, did you just keep taking them every 30minutes or whatever interval? And if they started peeing, just rush them to the bathroom?
3) did you do total naked or just underwear and no pants? He's obsessed with the idea of wearing underwear
4) how did you protect your stuff? Or did you just accept there would be pee and maybe poop on your furniture and floors?
I feel so lost. And MH is willing to help him sit on the potty but knows nothing so I'm on my own here

I slept until 10am this morning which is so weird. These days I never make it past 8am, but I guess I needed the rest. I've been cleaning house, getting ready for my mom's arrival. The weather is supposed to be great this weekend, so we may go to the pool later and I'm planning to throw some things on the grill for dinner. Hope everyone has a good day!

jewels We started with no undies or pants, but if he is obsessed with undies, I would put them on him. If he wets them and he doesn't like it, it may encourage him to use the potty so he doesn't wet them. At this point, pull ups are not your friend. Use them for naps or bedtime only, if necessary. I tried to increase his fluids so he would have to go more often. If he started to pee, we rushed to the potty, but every hour or so I would enthusiastically say let's go to the potty! Never ask, because 90% of the time, they will say no. I kept a vinegar solution in a spray bottle and old towels close by to clean up any mess. Good luck!!

jewels, we started on a weekend, so I kept her in a dress with no undies. She peed on the floor (it was either two or three times) in the first 20 minutes, and then never again. That seem to zap her into understanding that the security of the pull-up was not there. Aside from going to preschool a few hours every other day, I kept her without undies or pants (at home) for the rest of that week. I added pants and undies at home after that, but still sent her to school and took her out in public with a pull-up. After a week, I ditched the pull ups when we were going out, but kept it at school. She didn't experience any confusion. Her biggest concern which I learned far too late (mostly because there was terrible communication from her teachers ) was that she didn't want to go to the bathroom at school because she expected there to be a ring seat. Once I learn that, I removed the ring seats from the house and she was fine. I started to ask her to use the bathroom every 30 minutes or so, but it became too much of a frustration for everyone involved. I used the baby potty for the first week only. First in the family room, and then I moved it to the hallway then finally into the bathroom where we transitioned to the ring seat (and then finally just the actual toilet).

So far my Saturday has consisted of cleaning the guinea pigs cage, cleaning the litter, picking up after the dogs in the backyard, feeding all of them plus the fish and doing laundry.
DH has played with the pigs and had a shower...
I'd love to swap lives for a day.

peachsmama, N seems to be the same lately. And he's so persistent! He will test me on everything and I don't even fight the small stuff (which clothes/shoes etc) I'm hoping it's a phase, I'm tired of making him cry all the time because he thinks I'm being unreasonable. As he says ... "I never get anything!" because I won't give him a second lollipop

jewels we did naked time for a day and a half basically and set s timer for 20 mins. When the timer went off all play and tv would stop until he went to the bathroom. I put towels on furniture and he did pee on the hardwood floors a few times. Then I went to underwear for two days with the timer at 20mins. We would do short outings outside or a car ride with the potty in the back and stop and have him pee. The last full day we increased intervals to 40mins and encouraged him to ask to go. We also kept the potty in the living room for a long time because his biggest issue was stopping when doing something so at least it was right there until he learned to hold it when the urge struck. We did Labor Day weekend. School was on Tuesday and he had accidents fairly often there but not at home because they weren't good at taking him or anyone at intervals. The kids were required to ask. When we changed preschools most accidents stopped because they go at regular intervals. He maybe had one accident every month or two now. Not Night trained but is nap trained.

He just woke up from nap and we put him in underwear that he picked. Timer set for every 30 minutes and I told him to tell us if he has to go.
I do not feel hopeful but I've got to bite the bullet. MH is actually home this weekend but will not be home for the next 3. So I'm taking advantage of having the extra hands now

Thx. We've already had one crying fit (him) I wish I could pay someone all my money to do this for us. This is the pits!! I'm sorry. I'm sure that's really frustrating. Although we were successful quickly, Josie showed absolutely no interest in potty training until the weekend we started. I think the only reason it worked out for us was because she was ready. Every attempt before that was a disaster, and lasted at most 20 minutes.
