I'm so sorry for that nightmare, katietopaz, what a horror. I haven't had any pregnancy dreams this time, but for awhile years ago, I would pretty consistently have *spoiler for trigger* violent rape dreams that I would get really shaken up about. I'd wake up screaming and crying and MrRama was usually not around to help me deal with it (we were both in college), so it would take a long time for me to shake it off. I'm kind of thankful that pregnancy hasn't given me many dreams this time, because I'm afraid of those coming back. A couple of them were recurring.

katietopaz I have definitely had vivid dreams but luckily, except for one, none have been nightmares. That sounds really, really awful and I would definitely have a hard time shaking it. Like Rama I used to have recurring nightmares. I found it helped to identify the reason behind the nightmare. If I had to guess I'd say you're probably feeling guilty and maybe worried about how this pregnancy will affect your son. But that's just my layman's take. I also taught myself how to wake myself up from nightmares which really helped. I don't really know how I do it except I just realize I'm dreaming and tell myself to wake up. I'm sorry though.

I also taught myself how to wake myself up from nightmares which really helped. I don't really know how I do it except I just realize I'm dreaming and tell myself to wake up. I'm sorry though. Actually, I do this, too. It was a trick that my uncle taught me the first time I was staying away from my parents for a significant amount of time (a few weeks/month during summer). I had a nightmare and came into my aunt and uncle's room as I normally did with my parents. He brought me back to my room and told me to go back to bed. The antagonist in my dream was a giant spider crab thing the size of a building; he told me to drop a giant boulder on it and squish it. Basically, he taught me to kill anything that attacked me in my dreams. Admittedly, it worked and still does, but it was such a comical mental image (even at that age), that I usually wake up laughing. This probably wouldn't have worked in your dream katietopaz since it's not all that similar, but all the words to say that training yourself to wake up when your dreams take a turn for the worse is absolutely doable and can help a lot. Mine aren't usually all that lucid, either, so I'm pretty sure I've just taught my body to wake up to certain stress levels.

Rama, the MFM that I see doesn't actually deliver & provide prenatal care as my OB does. He just does more thorough ultrasounds & monitoring. He confers with my OB on care.

Rama cornpop Thank you ❤️ And I'm so sorry that you've both dealt with awful recurring nightmares. The ideas do help. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes from a place of anxiety - I have a hard time with change, and I do feel emotional about how much this is going to change DS's life. I've had mixed luck waking myself up from nightmares before, but this was just...something else. I'm hoping that if I try to process through it, it won't be a recurring theme.

Thanks for all the responses on my conundrum earlier. I decided to go with accepting the referral to the MFM for ultrasounds and I'll ask them if I can keep my standard prenatal care local.
I was looking up the hospitals and learned that the local one actually does have a Level III NICU, so that is one load off. I worried about needing to get all the way down to the other hospital in that scenario, but now I'll feel secure going where I need to when the time comes.

I've never done Stitch Fix before, but I was reading the fall style thread over on GD and saw that they have a maternity box. I'm soooo tempted to try one as a treat yo self. I kept my maternity clothes from last time, but some don't fit because I weigh a little less than I did then, and some are just NMS anymore.

katietopaz, I did StitchFix twice. The first time I didn't give them enough guidance and I didn't like anything I got. The second time I created a big Pinterest board that I shared with them of all clothes I like and I ended up keeping all of the pieces. I'm debating about trying the maternity one as well. But if you do, I'd definitely create a Pinterest board to share with them. There's also Borrow Your Bump which is similar but you can choose to either rent or buy the clothes they send you. I tried that twice as well and didn't like any of the things they sent either time. They were okay but more like...basics. I was looking for more like statement pieces.

I just added when we're buying our Christmas tree to my iPhone calendar, so I'm waiting for my H to call me like "seriously?" Whatever. I'm not a huge fan of Halloween and much prefer Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I'm having vivid dreams also. Thankfully not nightmares like some of you, but so weird. The other day I was teaching first grade for the first time(I've never taught first grade) and had done no lesson plans or setting up. I walked into the classroom for the first time, with my students, and we had to get tables and chairs organized so they could sit and we couldn't find all the books, and!!! And then I made a girl cry because I yelled at her for dumping liquid glue into her glue stick and then dumping it into her project. 🤤 Last night I dreamt that I was back living with my parents and three siblings in the tiny 2 bedroom house I grew up in(in another country). A guy and his girlfriend(that DH and I are on the V Fire Dept with here) asked if they could stay with us. (They would have been like 8 & 10 when I was still living with my parents) the biggest issue was that they had a kitten and my parents are "no animals in the house ever ever ever ever", never mind there were 6 of us sleeping in that tiny bedroom.

I jinxed myself and had a very vivid nightmare last nightmare. Although nothing like katietopaz's so I can't complain. The problem with my pregnancy dreams is that they're so realistic I have a hard time realizing I need to wake myself up. We HOPEFULLY are finding out the sex of the baby tonight. The website says they have a 100% accuracy rate after 14w but I'm nervous. I think unless it's a boy and I see clear junk, I'm going to be uncertain. I do think it's a boy in general though. But, even if they say it's a girl and they're wrong, it's not the worst thing ever. We're not going to be buying clothes since we have plenty from my daughter and I have a girl's room in mind that I'm dying to do, so even if we end up with a boy I'm planning on re-doing my daughter's room.

Re: vivid dreams - I've been having a ton, but my first nightmare was actually last night. I was stuck in a malfunctioning elevator, and no one could figure out how to safely get me out. I had one w/ DS that was so freaking realistic - I "woke up" and thought I heard something, and then realized someone was in our room. He grabbed me by my feet and yanked me out of bed. Thankfully I was able to wake myself up at the point, but it was waaaaaaaay too scary.
Re: Stitch Fix - I did it at least once (maybe twice) last pregnancy. I asked for clothes that weren't necessarily maternity, but "maternity friendly" (i.e. lots of empire waists). I actually got several dresses that I still wear, pregnant or not. The best was a empire waist wrap dress that was the best ever when I was nursing. I've thought about doing it again this pregnancy, just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I need to see if Stitch Fix does Pregnancy Plus Sized clothes... they do Plus Size for regular, but Plus Maternity would be awesome.
Dreams: mine have all been sex like dreams - like making out with Matthew McConaughey. No Idea, but I was pretty mad when it was over and I woke up..

cornpop A Pinterest board is a great idea! I didn't realize that the stylists put so much into it, but that makes sense. I have definite likes/dislikes so anything I could do to point them in the right direction is great. yianna I didn't even look to see if plus-size maternity is an option, but I would be in that category too so I guess I should check on that before I get too far ahead of myself. I'm sorry I'm not the only one having vivid (and sometimes upsetting) dreams. I agree that one of the worst parts is that they feel so realistic that it's harder to wake up from and shake off!

katietopaz I just checked -- they don't have plus size maternity, but they say they can style you in plus size maternity flexible clothes through the second trimester. I went ahead and scheduled a fix, so I'll report back when I get it, late next week.

Well it finally happened - there was no way I was going to make it to the bathroom, so I had to vomit in the trash can in my office. I knew I shouldn't have bragged about how well I was feeling yesterday...
I asked DH this morning if I had taken my diclegis last night because I honestly don't have any memory of taking it, so now I'm seriously wondering whether or not I took it. Regardless, I'm super bummed because I was already making plans to start weaning off of it this weekend because I only have enough to get me through another week and a half.

smootiepie, at least it was the trash can and not the floor. I am surprised I have not thrown up in the trash can at work yet. I did throw up on the side of the road on my walk yesterday. Thankfully I live in the country so it was not near someone's well-manicured yard. I conveniently ran into one of the social workers at work and her bowl of candy as she walking to do a lesson in a classroom. The skittles and starbusrt were just what my off feeling stomach needed to get through the rest of the workday.

It looks like it's estimated to arrive next Friday, the 6th. I'm excited! I'm an awkward in-between regular/plus size according to their sizing charts, so I'm curious to see if the fit ends up working out with whatever they send. I can't wait to see what we both get!

I don't understand how people like over the belly maternity pants. They make me feel SO sick. Like I just rolled down the band on mine and feel 100% better.
But, I can't find under the belly ones to save my life.
