What are your plans for the long weekend if you are in the U.S.? Any fun parties planned, recipes you're making.
If you aren't in the U.S. What are you up to this weekend?

We are hosting a labor day party this year. There will be about 30 people and I'm a ball of nerves since it's our first time hosting a party like this. Im making buffalo chicken dip, broccoli slaw, and trifecta bars which are cookies, brownie, and rice crispy treats layered on top of each other. We are also having hamburgers, hotdogs, and sausage. People will be bringing food as well. I really hope the weather cooperates!
But once this party is over I'm charging headfirst into fall, bring on all the apple cider, cozy sweaters, and bonfires!

I have no idea what we are doing, but since it was such a success last time we tried it maybe we will do a fancy early dinner one night and bring LO. It's also our anniversary (we aren't big anniversary/holiday ppl in general, but it's nice to do a little something). Also probably taking advantage of some furniture sales.

Happy Anniversary! jewel, how many years are you celebrating? MH and I will be celebrating our 5th this October. We are trying to plan a little get away for it, but it probably won't be until after the new year.

Nothing major. I think we're going to do a beach trip, but I'm not sure when. We're going to a friend's house for a barbecue on Sunday night. I can "bring anything" but I don't know what I'm actually going to bring....

It's easy as it comes in a bag and I just at Marie's coleslaw dressing, and people rave about it. Also healthy, so I can shove massive amounts of bbq food into my face and not feel bad.

DH works for basically all of it so I'm debating a zoo trip with DD if I can convince a friend to come. I'm also seriously considering taking DD to Disney on Ice but it starts at dinner time and I'm not 100% sure she has the attention span for it. If it was just Moana + Trolls + Mickey then definitely 😂

No big plans for us. We have a babysitter Saturday night, so we will go out to a nice dinner. I am hoping to convince DH to go to a college football game watching and BBQ.

We don't have much planned this weekend, and I'm ok with that. I might be meeting up with one of my besties and our kids while our Hs golf. This work week has been so long and busy it'll be nice to have some time to just hangout with the kids.

Saturday we have a family reunion to go to. Sunday my mother invited us to her church and then we always have a family meal at her house, so we're doing that. H wants to go on a date that evening so we have a sitter lined up. Monday we've been invited to a friend's house. I'm bringing wine but otherwise I have no idea what I'm bringing.

No big plans here. DH is working his usual schedule and we'll only have Monday off together, so we might just pick up something to cook on the grill that day.

Happy anniversary jewel! As for us, Monday isn't a holiday over here, but DH and I decided to take the day off anyways. We're Americans after all, and since I'm 33 weeks pregnant, I know I should take some time for DH and myself while I can. On Monday, DH and I are going to do an nice brunch while DS is at school. In the afternoon, I'm going to get a haircut and DH will get a massage. Today we took DS to an indoor playground/activity place, and he loooooved it. There were slides, a whole room of sand and beach toys, a room full of balloons, and a whole gym thing to climb and crawl around on. Tomorrow (Sunday) will involve swimming and probably a movie with DS on the couch - I want to get as much one-on-one snuggle time with DS before the new baby gets here next month.

Taitai I cant believe your 33 weeks already! Hahaha - I know. With all the bedrest and complications, it has seemed like forever, but yet I can't believe I'm only 4 weeks from being full term. Eeeek! DS is toddlering so hard tonight and has been throwing an epic, epic screaming tantrum for the past hour. He's never done anything this bad where we can't calm him down. He's been getting upset over the stupidest things and wants to control EVERYTHING. Sorry kid - that's not how it works...you're 2.5. So now I'm just sitting here thinking...omg what are we going to do when he has a tantrum like this and I'm trying to get the baby to sleep in the next room. 😕😩

Potty training my 2.5 yo. This is not enjoyable and dh is much more patient than me (especially since he can drink a beer during this process and my pregnant butt cannot).

We are going to the IL's to have dinner with a bunch of people we don't really know in celebration of MIL's best friend finishing chemo for whatever kind of reproductive cancer she has. I made a refrigerator eclair dessert. The friend (she's a good family friend, too, and has always been very kind to H and me) really seemed to like it the last time I made it, so I figured I'd make it again. I hope she can recover and feel better soon. I know the chemo has been hard on her Monday I was told we are taking E swimming at BIL and SIL's again. I guess I don't get to make any plans for myself. Today we took her to a local bookstore for a children's storytime, which she promptly walked out of about five minutes in (lol) and then she started climbing the ladders for all the books on high shelves, because of course she did. Then lunch at a place next door, quick groceries to make the afore-mentioned dessert, and lots of time just lounging around. My allergies are killing me, so I got some Zyrtec and it has made me a zombie. I sound like a frog going through puberty. I don't know that the Zyrtec is helping. It gave me a headache. I don't know what to do but I'm generally worn out and miserable.

fuzzylogic I understand the worn out feeling. My mother's step-mother's family decided to do a last minute family reunion today, I had about a weeks heads up, which I hate. H worked two weeks without a day off and he works 10hr days. So he is also grouchy. Then we have church, followed by family dinner at my mom's, followed by a date with H in the evening which I'm sure will be nice but I'm so tired. Monday we have a Labor Day dinner to go to. Then H tells me he wants to make dinner plans with his mom next week, which is only fair but sigh. Plus I'm on my dang period. Anyway not to take over with whining but I feel you. Also I prefer Claritin.

We are on the way to the beach. This afternoon's barbecue has been turned into a "hang out and order in" night because the hosts' kitchen isn't done yet and her spices are packed. So instead of bringing slaw in going to bring drinks.

Radley, I tried Claritin and it didn't do ANYTHING for my allergies! I haven't taken the Zyrtec today and I'm doing all right. I'm still tired, though. My period started today so hopefully I'll get out of the exhausted funk soon. The kid's alphabet blocks are missing. All of them. MIL has put them somewhere and I can't find them! Grr.

We ended up staying close to home all weekend bc we were both nearly out of gas and everywhere has been out (central TX), I know they say the shortage is a fake shortage just caused by ppl panicking but when every single station you pass in a reasonable distance is empty it sure feels real! H went out super early this AM before LO or I woke up and got us both gas and got us donuts! Yum! He said almost all the stations looked like they were refilled so hopefully by the time we need gas again everything is just back to normal!

Taitai nb+toddler is hard esp in the beginning. These days are better but this weekend Leo kept interrupting baby napping. Sometimes alex would cry cause he was tired other times he'd just get all riled up. Sleep schedules were a mess. All that to say enjoy the 1-on-1 with your son. But also seeing the big brotherly love is the best.
