It's been a bit so I wanted to check in and see what all the babies are eating.
How often are you giving baby solids?
What's your baby eating lately?
Where are you with finger foods?
How many times does baby nurse or have bottles per day? How many ounces in bottles?
Any tips or tricks to make feeding baby easier?
Questions?

How often are you giving baby solids? Twice - 8:30 and 2:30
What's your baby eating lately? She loved fruit purées and is not thrilled about veggies. We're doing a mix of homemade veggies and store bought fruit.
Where are you with finger foods? Nowhere. She loved puffs and I gave her some of DS's peas and carrots the other day but that's it. She's still randomly puking once a week so I'm very nervous about introducing anything new.
How many times does baby nurse or have bottles per day? How many ounces in bottles? 5 feedings per day. Bottles are 5-6oz and I'm trying to switch one to formula but having to mix with breastmilk for now.
Any tips or tricks to make feeding baby easier? Not really. I'm feeling like I'm slacking here and also nervous anytime she tries something new which is new territory. DS ate anything and everything and was totally off purées by 9.5 months.
Questions? I'd love any easy finger food ideas!

How often? Twice, morning and evening. Sometimes a taste of my lunch too.
Eating? Fruit and veggie purées (homemade and pouches), oatmeal...but it's been a struggle.
Finger foods? I just started this week. I've been struggling with purées but she seems all about the finger food. Puffs, teething wafer, bits of whatever I'm eating if appropriate. I did peanut butter last weekend and she's had no reaction, phew!
Nursing? Still feels like a lot but I'm not keeping track.
Any tips or tricks? I used the Boon "Pulp" silcone feeder with ds. I pulled it out this week and put some banana in it. Dd loved it.
Questions? More like anxiety concerns. I know solids don't replace milk/formula at this point but dd isn't overly interested in purées. I've tried not nursing her before meals, different flavors, a different spoon, or from the pouch with only slight improvement. She does seem to be more interested in finger foods so I'm trying to transition to that. Ds had a ton of teeth at this point so it made it a bit more easy. I know some babies aren't about that purée life and it's okay but my anxiety is getting the better of me. I'm just stressing about weight issues since she's already a peanut. I was hoping purées would be an easy way to sneak some extra calories in and am irrationally worried it will mean more weight checks or sensory/feeding issues.

How often are you giving baby solids? We try to do it every meal or if he downs 8oz and still acts hungry.
What's your baby eating lately? All the things! Literally, whatever we're having is what he's having. We don't give him a lot, it's mostly to play with and keep him entertained but he gets veggies, fruits, meat, and eggs. Sometimes, we'll give him pieces of crusty breads or hard biscuits/crackers.
Where are you with finger foods? That's all we do so, doing well?
How many times does baby nurse or have bottles per day? How many ounces in bottles? Bottles here. Oh man. It varies. He usually averages 6-8oz at a time except first thing in the A.M. when he seems to only take about 4-5oz and then I'll give him about 2oz if I need help getting him down for a nap. I think he usually has 5 bottles a day? I could be miscalculating.
Any tips or tricks to make feeding baby easier? Hm. Find what they like and go with it Lol I've given up on the whole "make them eat all the things so they aren't picky" given how DS1 went from "eat all the things" to "eat only a few things". Bananas are a go-to snack in our house.

Ahh I'm ordering a silicone feeder now Lakes! I bet M will love that and it will keep her busy while I make dinner. Sounds like we are having the same anxieties. I'm trying to convince myself that this phase will pass like the rest of them but it's definitely stressful.

I think I'm more stressed out with the feeding situation as a second time mom. I thought the second time around was suppose to be less stressful because you knew what you were doing? Jokes on me! thelittleredm I was so sad when ds went from eat all the things and try everything to finicky toddler. I'm hoping that when he sees dd go through the try everything stage (hopefully! *crosses fingers*) that it might encourage him to eat other things again. I still offer him our dinner but most of the time he's not interested. Toddlers. Pffffft.

E eats 3x a day breakfast lunch and dinner.
She will eat almost anything I make my own veggies for her do some pouches. E loves her feeder too.
She is doing well with finger foods and she tries to feed herself with the spoon too. Meals are quite messy now.
He still get 4-5 bottles a day about 7oz each.
No questions.

I had high hopes of more BLW this time. But we're mostly doing purees because H is a scaredy cat.

Baby gets two 4-oz jars of purees (one fruit-based, one veggie-based) per day.
She will eat ALL of the purees. I always just go through the shelf at the store and grab one of each.
My H is scared of finger foods. But we do tiny bits of fruits (melon, strawberry) and cooked veggies or pasta. We have been doing the Happy Baby Teething Wafers, and she loves them.
Week days she nurses morning and bedtime, and has five 3.5-oz bottles of breast milk at day care. On weekends we nurse on demand... maybe 5 or 6 times each day?
Can't offer tips and tricks. My baby wants to scarf down everything.

+1 to all things Happy Baby. I love their puffs, teething wafers, pouches, yogis, and creamies.
FFFC: I like to eat the yogis and creamies so I steal a few when I feed dd.

How often are you giving baby solids? 3x a day
What's your baby eating lately? Average day is oatmeal for breakfast, finger food fruit and yogurt/meat for lunch, finger food meat or whatever we're eating for dinner plus a veggie purée for dinner.
Where are you with finger foods? B LOVES them. For a kid with no teeth, he eats and chews an impressive amount. He has little patience for spoon feeding these days unless we also give him chunks of stuff to feed himself.
How many times does baby nurse or have bottles per day? How many ounces in bottles? Morning nurse, 3x bottles at daycare, bedtime nurse. So - 5x a day. Daycare bottles are 5oz.
Any tips or tricks to make feeding baby easier? No tips or tricks or questions I can think of. I'm pretty happy with how B is doing with food in general.

Sometimes I try to praise B in front of her for eating so well to see if she'll at least try to eat, but she's uninterested. The only thing that motivates her is the promise of dessert, which I try not to use too often because why should I trade 3 bites of protein for a popsicle full of sugar? Frustrating.

M loves the Happy Baby teething wafers but after eating them two days in a row, she didn't poop for 4 days and things were not good when she finally did. So we're taking a break there haha.

B liked the teething wafers too, but I was not a fan of cleaning up the mess. Those things crust over like sandpaper on everything by the time he's done - the highchair, the table, hands, face etc. B is NOT a fan of having his *anything* wiped after eating, so I've given up on them. Too much effort to clean lol.

I'm finding that my picky toddler is making me less stressed about M's eating. Everything I read when I started DS on solids really emphasized introducing them to a wide variety of foods early so they didn't become picky toddlers. LOL to that bc my kids ate literally everything as a baby and now wants nothing but plain bread and fruit snacks. So I'm not going to worry about how many different things I introduce M to since I've had the reality check that toddlers will just be toddlers 🤷🏻♀️

We do twice a day, breakfast and dinner. I just weaned her so she's taking 4-5 6-7oz bottles a day, I'm still figuring out how much she needs. We've been doing purees and slowly adding more flavors and finger foods like puffs. She had a meatball today and gobbled it up!

orangecrush (or anyone) - how did you pick your formula? I'm still dealing with my milk blister/clogged duct and I'm starting to really explore what it would look like if I weaned B. There are so many options for formula I don't know where to even start.

ellabee our pediatrician recommended picking a brand and starting with the cheapest/most basic one they make. She said most babies don't need any special type branded "for supplementation" or anything else but if they don't tolerate the basic one well, maybe give the "easily digestible" or whatever that brand calls it a shot. We started with Similac for both kids bc that's what the hospital gave us. We switched to Kirkland brand from Costco after that bc it's just a generic equivalent but wayyyyyyy cheaper.

I'm starting down the supplementing road, I'm mostly going to nurse still but pumping is hard for me so I want someone else to be able to feed her. We are just going to use the same formula we did with DD1 which is the Earths Best Organic. We use it because my husband wants to use the one that seems most fancy to him, if it were up to me we would probably try and find something more reasonably priced. I've heard people really like the stuff from Costco and that the price is good.

How often are you giving baby solids? Twice a day
What's your baby eating lately? She's been eating a lot of pouches and mostly likes the fruit ones (no surprise)
Where are you with finger foods? We are trying some finger foods, she really struggles with texture and has a tendency to vomit from it so we are still trying it out.
How many times does baby nurse or have bottles per day? How many ounces in bottles? I really don't keep track of how often she nurses, maybe like 6 times during the day and then 2 times at night.
Any tips or tricks to make feeding baby easier? Nothing really just pouches are the best.
Questions? Has anyones had their kiddo have a bad reaction to pumpkin, she has vomited when eating pouches of couple of times and they always contained pumpkin but I don't remember ever hearing that as something people have trouble with?

I haven't had any issues with pumpkin neekoneeko. My ped always says if you think it's giving them tummy issues to take a break from it and re-introduce it later. So I'd give that a shot since you suspect pumpkin and check with your ped.

There are so many options for formula I don't know where to even start. At first we were on a special formula for preemie then we were told to go to a regular calorie formula. E preferred similac over the other brands.

There are so many options for formula I don't know where to even start. I asked my pedi and she recommended Enfamil but told me that the generics (we have BJs here) are just as good. I just saw target has a new up&up kind so I picked up a case to try!
