Not necessarily strange, but these stood out from the typical biblical/classic names when I was first making all the family trees.
Girls Iola Birdie (she married a guy with a bird last name so her name ended up looking like: Birdie Finch) Ingeber Araminta
Boys Gustavus Cicera Erastus x 2 Noble x 2 Mordecai

I always thought it was odd that my great-grandparents names all 8 of their daughters after French Queens, but I kind like the idea too. My family was one of the first French families in New Orleans, so it's a nice tradition to connect with the "Old Country." That said, I am very glad my father didn't continue the tradition of naming the first girl in each family Marie Antoinette.
On my mother's side, I have cousins named Brown and Othel, and no one knows where they came from. But I think the strangest name is Daphne, pronounced Daff-een.

My grandmother, aunt, and cousin are all named Anneke. My husbands family had a tradition of naming all their firstborn sons Damien. We threw it around a bit, but too many people associate it with The Omen now *sigh* My MIL is named Jacinthe. Gotta love French names!

Hyacinthe and Arthemise on the French-Canadian side. otters we had a bunch of Birdies too. I think it's an endearing nickname.

Either my great or great great grandfather on my mom's side was Napoleon Bonaparte [last name]
On my dad's side there's an extended family with the last name Dinger. They call their son Hum. Hum Dinger. Seriously.

My dad had cousins who were named Blueberry (girl) and Rainbow (boy). I think the boy went by Bo.

My great-grandfather was named Flavel and his wife was named Bertha. They went by Doc and Bunny. And my other great-grandmother on my dad's side was Deleta, which is my middle name. Definitely won't be using Flavel! My great-grandmother on my mom's side was a twin, they were named Alma and Elma.
A friend of mine named her son Hya.cinth because it was a family name on her husband's side. Her other three sons have classic boy names, so they sound odd together (he's the second-youngest).

Oh, and my FIL is named Roy.al, I think he is hoping we pass his name onto one of our future kids. It's definitely NMS, we compromised and will use his middle name as a middle name if we have a boy next.

snowmoon, I also think Birdie makes a great nickname. There's just something so sweet and happy about it. @jananigans, Noble is such a great name. It's one I liked but sort of forgot until I saw it pop up on the tree. I like how modern it feels while still being classic.

SO has a g grandfather whose given name was Colonel.
Weirdest female name (though I like it) is my great aunt Bronislava. She went by Bee.
Not going to post here, but my dad has a very archaic and rather ugly sounding name. I doubt that anyone under the age of 80 has this name.

Almanzo's brother was named Royal and I thought it was a great name, much better than LeRoy which is a family name for us.

My great great grandmother's name was Eulalia. I think it sounds so fancy. She went by Lala Oh!!! I like this! I told DH I'm adding it to our list! He is not impressed and referenced the Redwall series. I should make a poll to see if very many people get the reference. redwall.wikia.com/wiki/Eulalia
