Flame free wednesday confession: When I had DS, I did not realize you could wear your own clothes at the hospital. I wore the stupid gowns the whole time. I also did not realize DS could wear clothes so he was just in a diaper and swaddled in a blanket the whole time. I was in the hospital for a week and a half and only put on real clothes the day I was discharged. lol I was in the hospital for a week and didn't put on real clothes either - with the exception of a nursing bra probably day 4.

I'm also team mesh undies! They aren't glamourous but they are wonderful and comfy and do a great job of holding the ice pack and tufts pads in! Lol.
My best brings from last time we're definitely the flip flops for the shower, my own towel (a cheap one that I could allow to clean up the "murder scene" after that first shower) and my own pillow.
This time around I need to remember to bring backup sweatpants because I legit peed myself twice and someone had to run home and get me more pants. Pushing out a baby really messes up those pee muscles for a couple days.

Oh wait I thought of another one--I brought my baby book so a nurse could do the footprints in it vs me attempting to at home later on.

When I had a C section, I only wore the gown too. It's the only thing that was comfortable.

cythe, duskymonkey, I had a CS too and I thought (for some reason) that would mean they'd clean everything out and I wouldn't have the heavy PP bleeding. NOPE. It was heavier than any period I ever had even in high school when I had to set an alarm to change my super plus tampon and pad in the middle of night.I think it's worse because you have to wear pads too. I've been a tampon/cup girl since I was 13. Pads are so gross.

I'm much more prepared this go around!

I will definitely be packing spare clothes to change into this time though.

I liked having my own clothes (nursing tanks, yoga pants, and a cotton robe) - it made me feel more human. I packed the baby some clothes, too.
I'll also be packing my Bluetooth speaker because I have a birth playlist in my phone. I really liked focusing on my music during labor.
I'm a complete dork and will be packing a swaddle, hat, and my LetterFolk board for a picture/announcement at the hospital.

I wanted out of that gown as soon as possible!! I think I changed after I showered the day after my c-section. Nursing tanks and yoga pants. Going to bring something with a looser waist this time, last time the elastic was too tight over my incision. And I very well may be having a second section so comfort is key. I was team mesh undies, though!
I changed DD into a sleep & play, too. She wasn't staying in her swaddle blanket and it was just easier. I will be bringing a couple gowns, a couple sleepers, and a couple Swaddle Pods for DD.
Toiletries, snacks, iPad and laptop- DD didn't sleep at all night #2 so we watched Friends while we tried to calm her down haha

Complete opposite. I was fine in the hospital gown and will gladly live in it again this time. Really DNW to bloody my own clothes plus can't think of pants on with a CS

I had nothing with me except what I had brought to my appointment on Friday. I ended up just giving my dad a list and telling him what to grab for me. I haven't even touched 90% of it. I've really only used my toiletries.

I likely won't pack mine till I'm in labour. I'm on this bench. I did set aside the baby outfits (so, y'know, 2 sleepers and a hat) and my robe, but that's it. Toiletries and clean underwear will take 5min to put together. I just...really don't think there is so much stuff that I will absolutely NEED to have while I'm there. Definitely nothing that I can't just send H to grab or buy. TETO of course, but that's where I'm at.

I'll also probably pack all of my own stuff at the last minute since most of it is stuff I use regularly anyway. But I also live 5 minutes from the hospital, so I can make DH fetch anything I need if I have to get to the hospital quickly without being able to pack. We still haven't washed the new squish clothes yet (didn't want to do it before we had furniture to put it in once they are clean.)

I'm the one that started this whole conversation and I still didn't actually officially pack until this morning. But my bags are both packed and waiting. But something about being 34wks and knowing they will immediately deliver if my situation changes has made me realize I just needed to do it
