Anyone a Packers fan? I'm on the field at a practice right now through work. It's such a cool experience! I'm taking a break sitting down but I'll post an Aaron Rodgers picture later on! I understand almost zero about football, but I do know that being a Bears "fan" means that I'm required to dislike the Packers Sounds better than being at work, though!

seventythree u/s measurements are notoriously wrong, so don't freak out too much about size!! They were 2# off with my DS.

Today and tomorrow I'm in meetings with my replacement at work! She's taking over after this week and I'll be her backup. One more month of work before I take off on leave!

This might sound whiney, especially after not being around for a bit, but it's been a crazy week.
Thursday I had to make a last minute trip to the OB due to some menstrual like cramping and pink discharge- luckily not in preterm labor however baby girl is laying transverse. DD1 was also transverse around this time, so now we cross our fingers she flips head down. Oh and DH was away all week and coming home on Thursday. He was still a flight away from home when I called to tell him I was going to the OB.
Friday and all weekend I notice my left lower leg is red, slightly swollen, warm, and feeling bruise like. After consulting with multiple providers at work yesterday (I work at a hospital), they recommended I call my OB as it could be an infection or a blood clot. OB wasn't hugely concerned but sent me for a Doppler study of my leg to rule out a clot. Luckily it was negative and my leg is feeling slightly better.
Then I get a call from my mother last night telling me my grandmother has taken a turn for the worse and will be going on hospice Thursday. They are expecting less than a week until she passes. I cried for like 2 hours and am feeling so much regret for not visiting her more or bringing DD to see her more.
If you got to the end of this, thank you. I'm just feeling very overwhelmed and nothing is ready for this baby to arrive.

One of my largest customers is a big sponser of the Packers so I've done a ton of cool things at Lambeau and with the team. You know the Bears suck! I can't believe how close I was to these players today. The problem when you are 36 is you realize you are much older than most of them so when you think they are cute it's actually creepy. Aaron Rodgers has a huge 'stache right now. He's old though so I didn't feel like a creeper with him. gamergirl H is a huge Vikes fan. We've agreed our boys will be Vikes and Timberwolves fans and White Sox fans.

It's on my hospital bag packing list, but here I am almost 34 weeks and feeling like maybe I won't lol. I think it's a lovely gesture, but ... effort.

When labor and delivery come around for you, and someone can run out and get some doughnuts or bagels for the nurses, that's fine, but if not, I really wouldn't stress about it!

I think it's a lovely gesture, but ... effort. My SIL is a labor and delivery nurse. This isn't much of a thing where I am. Some people bring in cookie baskets and stuff but they don't expect it. If I had a good nurse I take the time to fill out one of those surveys. I had the same post partum nurse with both boys and she was amazing, especially after my rough C section. She made sure people gave me 4 uninterrupted hours one night from all the barging and checking and it was everything to me. I filled out a survey and wrote an email to the dept head.

rebeccabunch I was able to talk to the teachers this morning and they reassured me they would help him. But I still said, if you end up putting him in a diaper I'm fine with it. He came home in a diaper but we did diaper-free tonight and he was successful. Tomorrow is the last day of the backup place, my mom is on board for Thurs and then we're fully committed to getting back on track this weekend. I also emailed my regular daycare to talk through the plan next week and the director was super supportive, so I'm feeling a lot more confident about how next week will go. How is your DS doing? Hope it's been going well!

cythe I am proud of your Packers choice. rebeccabunch DH and I are huge Packers fans! Insanely jealous of your time on the field and proximity to Rodgers! cythe Also, for the L&D gifts...I think it is up to you, depending on the service you receive. My sister delivered in the states and had some awesome L&D nurses, so she ordered a party platter of subs from Jimmy Johns for them after delivery. They were all super super appreciative and I thought it was a nice gesture. I think some hospitals have policies against L&D staff eating home made goods (due to risk of getting sick around babies) and from wearing scented lotions. So if you do something, I think ordering from Jimmy Johns or doing a coffee/bagel/donut thing from Dunkin is the way to go. My BIL just did the Jimmy Johns order online via his smart phone and it literally took him 5 minutes - I feel that would be the easiest route. @gamegirl I must admit it was difficult for me to hit like on a post that contained the words "go vikes," but I really like Mexican food and I am deep down a nice Midwesterner...I couldn't bring myself not to...😂😅😂. Same goes for you bears fans seventythree and my Molly's cupcake buddy chitownsully.

cythe I'm probably just going to put together a basket for the nurses with magazines, granola bars, cookies, and snacks. I plan to send thank you notes to anyone that is really helpful, but as others have mentioned we may have the best intentions before delivery but after our plans can go out the window.
