I'm up with my unreasonably whiny 2 year old. He didn't get to sleep until late sadly, but he still woke up at 6:30am. We're now cuddling on the sofa listening to music. I really need to get laundry started and hop in the shower before his therapy session that starts in an hour and forty-five minutes.

My almost 16 month old is back to waking up every 2 hours. I am dying.

DS has been super emotional lately and his favorite word seems to be "NO!" for everything. It's exhausting. I feel he gets this way when he's learning new big concepts or going through developmental leaps. I hope things subside a bit...but who really knows. He's 2.5, so maybe he is just asserting himself more and trying to be controlling?
I'm also less than 2 months from my due date, so maybe that has something to do with the higher than usual emotions. DS has been talking about the new baby quite a bit, so obviously it is on his mind. DH also taught him how to say, "Heeeeeeey brother," to my bump, just like how Buster says it from Arrested Development. It cracks me up every time.

DS is getting his first haircut on friday, we are potty training over the long weekend, and he moves up a room at daycare next week. How is he this big?! Also not thrilled about potty training at 30 weeks pregnant but am hopeful that the "oh crap potty training" method is successful (and ds takes to it -- he's very ready).

My almost 16 month old is back to waking up every 2 hours. I am dying. Can I come sit with you? 18 month DD has been up 3-4 times a night for the last week or so. Maybe it's teething? I don't fucking know, but if it doesn't stop soon I may lose my mind. I told mh that we absolutely cannot have any more children until this one is sleeping consistently and he vehemently agreed.

I'm at work, waiting on people to do their jobs right so I can do mine. I'm super annoyed since this entire morning I've been sending emails pointing out people's half assed mistakes.
Yesterday was a nice relaxing day. We ended up canceling on the playdate at the lake since a bunch of people couldn't make it and it was colder than we expected out. We spent the day in the yard and then did a lobster boil for the first time. It came out awesome and K ate her weight in buttered lobster, corn, and potatoes.

Just dropped LBB off at school. I've got meetings all day, which seems exceptionally unfair for a Monday. The last one is when I typically pick my kids up, so I'm going to have to run out and pick up LBB from aftercare early.

It's just another Monday over here. I have the baby's 9 month appointment today. I'm thankful that MH is able to get off work early and hang out with the 3 year old while I go to the appointment. It's horrendous taking them both because the older one has a deep hatred of the doctor's office and spends the entire time crying hysterically even when the appointment isn't for him. It's awful.
On a more exciting note, I just ordered garlic charbroiled chicken from the Mediterranean place for lunch today.

LT's for commiseration courtniko, sheilathetank. This baby of mine has maybe only slept more than 4 hours straight a handful of times in 9 months. I'm pretty sure his only goal in life is to make me die a very slow, very sleep deprived death.

Leo is also moving up to the 3 yo room starting today so they will also be ready to help out. It's a big step and the training sounds hard but I am super ready to have him out of diapers.

+1 for not sleeping a full night in months. The baby is still waking up 3-4 times to nurse. It's driving me nuts. I tried different things and atm am surviving by cosleeping. Although that does not make this process any smoother/easier. If I don't get the boob out fast enough I get an earful of shrieking, crying baby. Drama llama.
Leo has, in the midst of this, finally getting to sleep in his toddler bed (had to kick him out of the bed to make room for Alex). It's been a week and last night was the 1st night he slept the whole night in it. He woke up once and DH told him to go back to bed and he did. My big boy.

It's really the only thing that keeps coming back day after day. Well, that and the paychecks.

Just when I thought we were getting somewhere with potty training, DS is now both refusing to sit on the potty and peeing in his pullup almost as soon as he's done when he is willing to sit on it. I might be trying the 3 day method this weekend too to see if it makes a difference.
Work is basically same shit, different day. Two more weeks until we move into our new space and I'm not entirely looking forward to it.

We had a great time with my MIL this weekend. She went with us to L's soccer class on Saturday. And Sunday we took her to a conservatory near us that we had not yet visited. It was pretty neat. This is me, MIL and Leo inf front a vanilla bean plant. It had thick leaves and hung down like a curtain. I think I saw the bean pods too. There was a cool koi pond, but Leo was scared of the fish.

DH is going to pick up the boys and take them to fro yo while I have my last meeting. Dinner will likely be a shitshow because of it, but it's a trade-off. Plus, he's going to bring me home some.

Well after talking to a friend and then having a minor freak out that we missed our shot at our top pre school choice (which we did not, yay) we are scheduled to go on a tour in a few weeks and then can get on the waitlist then, the office told me though we are in really good shape for getting in next year, but they do start to fill up in October/November.
I am feeing very excited about it! Lol

I survived my first day back to work after a great week of vacation. We wound up coming home early yesterday, but it worked out because DS did great in the car, and it was nice to get things organized before the week. Now I'm basically waiting for my kid to pass out so I can go upstairs and go to bed myself because I'm exhausted. He's been in his crib almost a half hour and is currently singing songs from Moana.

Today was my first day back at work from summer vacation. Students don't start back for another week, but i like to get a head start on the things for the school year. DD and DS are having some trouble adjusting to daycare. They've always been home with either H or I (H took a sabbatical for the short time between my mat leaves). It's an adjustment for all of us but our first day went ok today, and will hopefully only get better as we find our groove.

Just toiling away here. E is back to being okay with daycare, we're doing chair tests in band and orchestra, and I'm generally swamped. But not so swamped that I don't have time to eat a bowl of ice cream right now The semester is really good so far. I like most of my students (one is driving me up the fucking wall, though) and we raised $630 at a car wash the other day for my music groups. Other than that, it's Open House on Thursday, and my life revolves around a toddler and work and no much else!

letthewookieewin, why aren't you looking fwd to the new space? is it a chaotic move or smaller space? I mainly just don't do change well. I've spent 6.5 years in our current location and I'm the only one left who was there when it first opened.
