It's not a euphemism, they're eating my basil and jalapeno plants.
Help me destroy them, please.

We put a cup of beer out at night and the slugs go in the beer and drown.

I bought a slug killer from a garden store - it was pellets that they eat and it explodes their stomach. I'm pretty sure it was cornstarch.
Beer didn't work - I think another animal was drinking it or the slugs were smart drunks.

I also concur with the saucer or low dish of beer method. Works for my mom.

We do slug killer. It's the only thing that works.

The beer didn't work for us, but the slug killer pellets did. I was so mad they ate almost all my lettuce last year!

The slug killer pellets work pretty well. Beer will get some of them but not all. I have seen some of those sneaky fuckers go right into a cup of beer and slime their way right out.

I just discovered I have feelings for slugs and snails thanks to this thread. You don't need to feel for them. They're monsters.

I use this and it works beautifully. I want to try this. I have seen so many slugs and snails this year. Where did you find it? I haven't seen it yet.

I generally don't mind them but they're everywhere. I can't. Sometimes they sneak in the back door after eating my plants. That's where I draw the line.

When I wake up I find slug trails all over my living room some days. I am so confused because I have never seen a slug in my house. They seem to be near the fireplace and front door, which has a big gap in the weather stripping. It makes me want to die to think if I fell asleep on the couch and a slug touched me.
I wonder if they leave before morning or if my cats eat them.

OMG. Fix that weather stripping. This is horrible. Do you think they could get in from a fireplace too? can you tell from the trails their likely point of entry? Just to guess I would say it's more likely that they're coming in through the front door because that seems like it would be much easier for them than climbing up to the top of the chimney and coming all the way down in. Unless there are holes in your chimney nearer to the ground or something.

i use an empty tuna can or cat food can and fill with beer. I think death by beer is a good way to go for the little suckers.

My mom once phoned me to tell me she had worms in her clivia. Luckily I found out that clivias were a type of plant.
