Omg I don't even know if he's gone ten mins this whole morning without being on th boob. Is this normal? He'll seem to be alseep, so I'll try to take him off. He'll wake up and fuss till I put him back on. I hope this is normal. On the boob like eating ? Or just wants to be on it ? I had this happen in the hospital and last night. I figured out it (for my baby ) it means they are cold. We are very warm. that's why they don't want you to put them down. Bundled her up and she would let me put her in a bassinet. Both. He eats a lot and loves to comfort nurse. I do keep him swaddled and keep a beanie on his head, but he could be cold I guess?

Zipmilk.org has a list of international board certified lactation consultants Since I can't give you an actual recommendation if you find one close to you and they suck. Try visiting another National breastfeeding help line 1-800-994-9662 Lowmilksupply.org Sorry to jump in but kellymom.com is a good resource too. A book I found useful was "A breastfeeding mother's guide to making more milk" by Diana West.

Wow addymac. I'm impressed you are already walking outside. I hope your mom doesn't put the baby under house arrest, lol. 40 days is a long time to not leave the house at all. I was feeling empowered to go on the walk bc I had to run some errands yesterday morning for work (so annoying) so I was dressed and all that but I definitely overdid it between the morning errands and afternoon walk. Also my MIL kept walking so much faster I was like ughhh slow it downnn. Oh well. Yeahhhh my parents arrived today and my mom made a "HMPH" noise and had a disapproval look on her face when I said the weather was beautiful and we should go outside. 😒 Thank GOD they're only here for one week!!!

Age: 7 days old! Milestones: he has an amazingly strong suck. And idk he's alive? He got his first at home bath Friday night! Good/Bad from the week: Good: he's a BFing champ. He has slept in four hour stretches in the afternoon the last two days. Bad: he is not a fan of having those four hr stretches be at night. And his mornings are awful - fussy, hourly feedings, refuses to nap. Oof. Questions: 🤷🏻♀️ I feel like four hr stretches of sleep isn't normal for a newborn but aside from waking him up at exactly four hoira, idk what else to do? PICS!! We did a newborn photo shoot today and here is the sneak peek she posted- I swear my heart was exploding as I saw him posed and sleeping GTKY: What are some things you do to sooth/comfort baby? Lay him on my chest and pat his back. And a paci because I just can't having him comfort nurse 24-7.

addymac, he is too cute! One suggestion, try waking him up at 3 hrs instead. He is probably sleeping so long because he isn't sleeping all morning and up very frequently at night? Just a thought. We have had a couple long stretches at night here but she was back at birth weight so I wasn't too concerned. How was N's weight?

At the first follow up he had still lost weight and was below birth weight but the dr wasn't overly concerned. We have a follow up in a week to check again. I'll stick to waking at every three now and see how that goes, thanks!!

I also had newborn pictures today. By surprise. A family member /photographer came ready to go with props and all. I got into it and took yoshijo idea of a picture of her wrapped in my wedding dress. Wanted to do the wedding bands on the feet. But mine is stuck on 😳 Awsome!! I can't wait to see

I didn't do newborn pics for my first two kids and didn't plan on doing them this time! My hormones made me do it..lol! She's our last baby and I have a photographer friend I texted last Sunday night to see if she could squeeze us in for a session 😁

Is anyone dealing with a lot of baby acne on the face? Seems like the spots go away, but just replaced with even more. Is it hormones fluctuating?

Age: 2 weeks 4 days Milestones: Stumps fell off, Donovan can roll from tummy to back. Good/Bad from the week: Good - Both are well up from their birthweights at their 2 week appointment so I'm happy my pumping is working and supply is keeping up; they eat like crazy! They are both more alert and it's so fun to see how different their personalities are. Bad - I wish they were better sleepers at night. They seem to give DH the long stretches no matter what shift I take. Questions: PICS!! I think I posted these already, but will post again. GTKY: What are some things you do to sooth/comfort baby? Donovan likes swaddles and pacifiers; Evangeline likes rocking and shushing.

We did a joint 1 year/family session when DS turned 1, so I'm thinking of doing the same thing this time around too.

@starzia, thank you so much for this. I've been struggling really hard for the past two days so I might actually do just what you did to give myself a break. I'm also going to make an appointment with an LC because I'm at my wit's end with bf-ing right now, it's such a struggle that I'm about to give up but I really want to make it work. I'm glad you recommend the LC because I've had mixed reviews from others. I'd also be really grateful for any resources you can share. I pump and supplement w formula for most feedings, BFing once a day and have no issues with her taking either.. I EPd for 3 wks too

Age: 8 days Milestones: at her appointment on Monday she was 1 ounce shy of being back to birth weight and her stump fell off that morning too! Good/Bad from the week: Good: She sleeps like crazy (which I was worried might be bad because she doesn't eat every 2 hours like they say she should). Other then that nothing bad. Questions: Poor U had icicle hands and feet. No matter what I put on her, the only time they are warm is when we cuddle for a long time under a blanket. Anyone found anything that helps? I had her in knot booties in the house yesterday and her toes were still cold! I may have to face the fact that she got my circulation and they will just always be cold. PICS!! Sorry guys! I shared the one, but H and I said no pics of baby online. GTKY: What are some things you do to sooth/comfort baby? Sing to her. She loves German and Italian, but apparently has to be in a certain mood for the French and English to work for her. She loves all the music her papa puts on though.

elliecat17, I mentioned this in randoms but M also has ice cold hands but only at night. She doesn't like her hands swaddled so I need to look into getting those little mittens. Hopefully they stay on

elliecat17 I put newborn size socks on my little guy's feet and then put a fleece sleeper on over that. I forgot how newborns need help maintaining body temperature for a little while. It was so weird to me to put him in a fleece sleeper in the summer but he shows no signs of overheating. I got mad at the little mittens bc they kept falling off. I put newborn socks on his hands and they stay on much better.

Age: 1 month
Milestones: sleeping good for the most part! He is so alert and loves certain noises and colors. He also is gaining weight like a champ!
Good/Bad from the week: the 3 week growth spurt has not been fun. It's great becuase he is feeding great and it's perfectly timed with my mastitis. However, I am tired of sitting and feeding.
Questions: none really...
PICS!!
GTKY: What are some things you do to sooth/comfort baby? We caved in and introduced a binky. It works sometimes. He loves to be walked around and that seems to work, especially when he can look at things.
