We made it though the appts and shoe shopping with no potty issues but when I went to pay for the shoes I realized I left my wallet in my work bag. Luckily they let me call H and took his card bc I was not leaving without their shoes. I then proceed to go to through the McDonalds drive through and completely forget I didn't have my wallet not even 15 minutes later. It was a French fry emergency with my kids and I had to go home and get my wallet. So annoying!
On a serious note, has anyone's kid been diagnosed with a Stills Heart Murmur? We saw a new Dr in the practice today and she thinks DS2 has this. I was shocked. She assured me it's likely nothing to worry about but I'm surprised it's never surfaced before. She advised me wait and recheck but of course I asked for an echocardiogram referral bc I don't want to risk it. I'm not too worried but I want to be sure it's nothing.

rebeccabunch Oh man, I'm just picturing the meltdown that would occur with a failure to deliver on promised French fries. Glad you made it through. I haven't heard of Stills Heart Murmer. That is interesting it would come up with a brand new pedi after going unnoticed for almost 3 years. Good call on getting an echocardiogram just for peace of mind.

I confirmed the closing of my apartment. It's in 3 weeks and I'm getting super sad. We bought the apartment right before we got married. I'm also getting super anxious - I've never packed up and moved before. I went straight from my parents house to this apartment. I don't even know where to start.

Wow! So crazy to think we could easily have some O17 outside babies in a month! 😊 I am slight hyperventilating at this thought, or I could be out of breath because this baby is pushing on my lungs. So much to do so little time!

Our pedi has been monitoring DS's heart all along because he could hear a murmur and kept telling us they can resolve on their own by age 2, and if it was still present at 2 he'd send us to a specialist. At DS's 2 year checkup in July it was still there so he sent us to a pediatric cardiologist. DS had an EKG and an Echocardiogram. Both checked out fine, and the specialist confirmed he has a "benign" or "innocent" murmur. He did not use the term Stills Heart Murmur, but Google is suggesting that is similar/same as a benign or innocent one (?). The cardiologist recommended no further monitoring or restrictions for DS. It gave me worry off and on for the past two years and I'm so thankful we were able to get it checked out. Remind me how old your DS2 is? I'd 100% get it checked out with a specialist for that peace of mind.

Warning: AW post because DH is away at a football game three hours away and I can't celebrate with him tonight.
I had my annual review this afternoon and I GOT A PROMOTION! Same job, maybe a couple more expectations but it is mostly stuff I already do. I moved up a level in the org and will get a salary increase. Woot! I'm excited and wish I could have a celebratory drink, but I'm KU and solo parenting tonight so I'll have to figure out something else....lol.

I plan on buying my parents house (my childhood home) but they haven't found an apartment they liked yet. So we're moving into the second floor of my inlaws house (they have a 2 family) because DH doesn't want to live with my parents indefinitely. I see his point of view but living with my parents means free and taking the inlaws income generating apartment means we have to give them money.

rebeccabunch, When I was around age 10, I was diagnosed with an "innocent" heart murmur at an annual physical. I don't recall if it had a certain name but the doctor wouldn't clear me to play sports until I saw a specialist. Specialist said it was nothing to worry about and I'd likely outgrow it. I've never had another doctor mention it since. So anecdotally, it may be something innocent that he will outgrow over time.

CoachTsWife - awesome!!! No reason to not have celebratory drinks a few weeks down the road. Woo who!! rebeccabunch - anecdotally, I have a murmur of some sort I was supposed to outgrow but still have at almost 30. Never stopped me from playing high school sports or running as a adult and whatnot. I got a couple EKGs till I turned 16 because they weren't sure why I wasn't outgrowing it but never saw any problems either. Hopefully your DS will turn out to be nothing but I understand the "need to know" mind space too. chitownsully I realized just this week some of my favorite maternity stuff wasn't fitting quite right. And is still have like 6 weeks left too! Lord only knows what I'll be wearing come Oct. 1st

In the saga that is DDs hand - it seems to be fine. Her pedi was perfectly ok with us waiting to come in for a follow up Monday as opposed to taking her to a children's hospital an hour + away. DD is still babying her hand but is playing with it and grasping toys, she won't put a ton of weight on it but otherwise seems fine. I swear I lack parental instinct most of the time because I've spent the last 3 days second guessing every decision.
We took DD to her first football game tonight (we made it to halftime). She loved watching the cheerleaders and wanted to go out there with them. She clapped at everything, loved eating popcorn, and waving to people. H coaches basketball but Baby 2 is due right at the start of girls season here. I know DD would love to go so I'm now wondering how I could juggle the logistics of taking a 2.5 yr old and a newborn solo to some of these games. Luckily the season doesn't end till February so I might feel more confident taking both out after Xmas solo.

danvers I have never taken DS to a football game solo. My ILs love to go with us, thank goodness! We haven't been yet this year because the games have been far away, but we'll venture out next Friday. I'm curious to see if he's more interested this year or not so much. Good luck with taking two to bball games later this year, you are brave!!

Congrats, CoachTsWife! Today was LONG. At work until after 7. Then we took DS to get shoes and out for ice cream. I'm starting to outgrow some maternity clothes, too. Last time I think I wore leggings and ugg slippers to work every day during my last week before maternity leave. It was not cute.

CoachTsWife Congrats on the promotion!!! Wohoo!!🎉🎉 rebeccabunch Sorry to hear about the heart murmur. I would be getting it checked out with a specialist for peace of mind as well. SIL was diagnosed with an innocent heart murmur when she was little, and I think I think the only affect was that she had to take antibiotics before dental appointments, in case plaque (spelling?) from the cleaning got in her blood stream. She played sports and hasn't been affected by it in any way at all. Hope it is the same for your DS. danvers Great news about DD's hand! Hopefully it is totally healed up before you know it @crumudgeon So sorry about your vacation . That really is a bummer - esp as it is Disney. I hope you guys can make up for it with some local activities - Legoland sounds like a lot of fun! August Blooms and chitownsully Cookie dough watch update - we're going to make it this afternoon (in a few hours). I'll update once we have a verdict in! We will have 5 tasters (myself, DH, DS, our nanny, and our nanny's daughter), so if everyone likes it, I will give it the official taitai cookie dough seal of approval! I'll post the recipe too

Congrats! danvers, also glad to hear about your DD. rebeccabunch, yes do keep us posted about your DS. Hopefully it's nothing and he'll outgrow it.
