Alternative title: Unsolicited advice Thursday
Ladies with hip pain, my chiro told me to ice (no more than 15 minutes) and to be sitting on an exercise ball when I'm just hanging out at home. Watching tv, folding laundry, ect. And it's been awesome! She said the ball helps put/keep your hips in the correct position so if you're hurting, it's worth a try. And, balls are fairly cheap at like walmart (just be sure to get a ball appropriate for your height)

Let us all not have crying all day babies.

Our exercise ball still gets daily use as part of DS's nap and bedtime routine. He loves "bounce on the ball" time and it puts him to sleep.
DH is ok, but he got into a car accident yesterday. Rear-ended another car on his way home from work. It's the first time we have ever dealt with a car accident, let alone one where we are at fault, so it's been a bit stressful. A little bummed too because the car he was driving was my first car, and the front is pretty crunched and currently not drive-able. We had been talking about getting a new car though that has more room for car seats, so maybe this is just the sign that it's time to do that.

arimaythea Oh no! Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad your DH is okay. If you had to get a new car, what are you guys considering? (Sedan, minivan, SUV, station wagon, etc?)

Great advice on the ball cythe I'm going to pull mine out this weekend. Umm the best part of my day is my working lunch this afternoon. I requested a cookie and I can't freaking wait.

arimaythea oh I'm sorry to hear about the accident! Glad everyone is okay. For what it's worth, I'd take it as a sign to do some new car shopping!

Today was a very busy day. I had to actually go into my office to work, because we had monthly pest control spraying at our home from 10am - 4pm....do not want to be around those chemicals, esp while pregnant. DS came to my office after he got out of school, so it was like work meets romper room for the entire afternoon. My poor employees! I made everyone be extremely quiet and I closed all the blinds/turned off all the lights from 2-3pm so DS could nap on a couch in the office. One of my employees even laid down on the floor and pretended to sleep so he could "be a good example for DS." What a goof! Very sweet gesture though. All the walking around my office made the SPD pain worse today, and I am so glad to be in bed with my feet up again. cythe - I would totally look for an exercise ball to relieve the pain, but my doctors have told me to avoid anything resembling a squatting position. Sigh.

Taitai, we already have a Dodge Grand Caravan (which I love) so we were thinking for DH to go with a small-midsize SUV. The car he was driving (Hyundai Elantra) would require the driver to have to sit way up close to the controls to fit a rear-facing car seat behind it, so we were hoping to find something a little roomier that has less impact on the driver's seat positioning. We rarely use that car when going somewhere as a family though, so we weren't in a rush to replace it. But maybe now is the time haha. I was casually looking a month or two ago and was leaning toward the Ford Edge.

The exercise ball is still sitting in DD's room (see comment by rebeccabunch ) but I may move it to the living room today.

Just ordered myself a ton of new clothes for post partum! I absolutely hate spending the money on myself, but I want to feel better about how I look after this baby is born. 2 pairs of jeans, 7 undies, 1 bra($$$), 1 sweater, 10 shirts, 4 nursing tanks, and $200 later...
On a related note, both AE and Old Navy are having good deals!

DD woke up in a bad mood this morning. I hate when that happens.
I have an appointment for a wax today then just WFH. My life is thrilling these days.

arimaythea, glad to know your DH is spared and safe. Bummer about the car though. My sister has a Honda CRV and loves it. Also seemed to have room with RF seat for DS when we visit and she would come get us from the airport and my BIL is like 6'4.

GDI. Well what I thought was from pregnancy congestion isn't so I'm pretty sure i caught DS cold 😩. Swell! He's still a wee bit congested but seeemd to be on the mend relatively fast. Thanks preschool. Thanks a lot 😡 I predict the pedi and us to be BFF this yr between bubs well checks and likely misc. visits with DS.

I caved and finally tried those Duncan Hines mug cake thingies today (they were on sale so what the hell) and I'm pleased to report that the chocolate chip muffin was actually pretty legit.
I've been hurt before with mug cakes, but this was pretty darn tasty. I like that it was just a single serving because I have no restraint and would eat all the muffins if I made real ones.

Hi all. I don't even know if I logged in on here yesterday or not. Work is insane.
In positive news, I finally ordered a rug for the nursery this morning. Target is having a 30% off sale, I used my 15% online registry coupon, & had a $20 gift card to get the price from $105 to $63. And I love the rug! So I'm feeling pretty good about that.

DH is being interview for a promotion at work today. The past week or so we knew his name had some up to replace his boss who has given in their notice. It comes with a lot more work and a pay raise but is an amazing opportunity career wise. I'm really excited for him, I hope he gets it.

Had my 31 week appt today and baby is breech. I know it's too early to stress about it, but I'm starting the spinning babies inversions just in case. Also, exercise ball talk reminds me that now is probably the time to switch my office chair for the ball. Encouraging better posture and all.
Non-work task of the week is rug shopping for the nursery and DS's new room now that we've replaced the carpet with wood. So many choices!

This thread reminded me that I needed to blow up my exercise ball... hoping it helps with some pain I've got going on.
I was going to take DD to daycare this morning but she looked so cute sleeping in our bed that I didn't have the heart to wake her. Got Starbucks for breakfast and it was sooo good. I was also able to clean our bathroom and vacuum upstairs and the stairs so I feel accomplished.
My poor vag is hurting now though....

If this hurricane ruins our vacation plans next week I will cry. Still taking a week off work no matter what because It is insane and getting unbearable. I need a week to reset.
This baby has been transverse but I think he may have moved? Last night I felt him do a huge roll and then a sharp pain in my side and all of a sudden relief. And I haven't felt as uncomfortable since. So maybe no more sideways baby?

Man, I really wish my toddler still took naps. I am scared about being up all night with a newborn and then not able to nap during the day this time.
