I loved my exercise ball during my last pregnancy. After DS was born he would have a witching "hour" from 8pm-midnight everyday and the only thing that calmed him down was holding him and bouncing on that damn ball. As soon as we got through that phase I threw the ball away. I couldn't stand to look at it anymore. Maybe I need to get a new one. arimaythea, sorry about the accident and I'm glad your H is okay. Keep me posted about your car search, we're looking into something new right now and I'm always open to new idea. Work is crazy right now. I've had a headache since yesterday. But I found out that I got a (small) raise today, so that was cool.

I don't even remember how long that phase lasted but it felt like an eternity.

arimaythea Yikes! Glad your H is ok! Sorry about your car. : ( Yay for getting a new car though, right? cythe Samsies. I made a box of Mac'N'Cheese for lunch, and gave DS a small bowl full. Then I ate the rest...plus 2 cosmic brownies. Tums are my BFF right now. blackmamba Congrats on the raise!

Nothing exciting over here. Had my 34 week OB this morning, then stopped through McDonald's on the way home for a double cheeseburger and large sweet tea (nuggets for DS, he loves them). Going to Zumba after DS's nap, so that should help cancel out all of my horrible food choices today...right?

Very long rant ahead - feel free to skip. I just need to let it out...
It turns out DDs hand injury at daycare yesterday might not be so minor (or it still could be). X-rays showed maybe a fracture but we're waiting on the pedi tomorrow to give a second reading/opinion before driving over an hour to a children's hospital.
I at 8 months pregnant can't be in the room when DD gets the imaging or additional X-rays so H suggested his mom comes down and go with me. I fully realize my MIL eats crackers for me but I'd rather go it alone than deal with a whole day of her and her judgements/criticisms/opinions. Obviously H was not happy to hear that. He's going to take tomorrow off and deal with the pedi but if she does end up needing to have additional testing or imaging, I told him I'll take off and go too. He didn't understand why I'd take the time off if he's going to do it already. I can't imagine I'm that irrational (or maybe I am) to want to be with my "baby" if she has to go over an hour away from more testing and treatment.
I'm tired ya'll. I'm hormonal. I want to have a drink. Sigh....

Not much here. I bribed DS with fruit snacks to get him to change his shorts, then forgot to actually give the snacks. Mom 1 Kid 0
Oh and poor DH broke a cheese stick in half yesterday and was dumbfounded at the meltdown. I said, "don't you know it's inedible now??" 😂

I completely understand how you feel, danvers. MIL is also a giant cracker eater and I'd rather take the time off from work than deal with her. I hope the injury isn't too bad and the trip to the hospital isn't needed.

I'm so sorry for her hand danvers! Also, for what it's worth I would hate to have to spend the day solo with my MIL.

cougarette, your cheese stick story is 100% DS too. There are also certain things that he wants to have the wrapper around while he eats from it, so if you completely remove the wrapper it also becomes inedible and leads to a meltdown.

So sorry danvers! I understand how you're feeling and you aren't being irrational. I hope she doesn't need to go for further testing! Keep us posted.

danvers, I hope it is nothing! I will say a prayer for a good scan! And I totally get the cracker eating. I nearly posted a big post about mine but then I felt petty/dramatic and didn't hit enter. I'm happy to know I might get some sympathy for my inevitable future rants. 😬

Had my 31 week appt today and baby is breech. I know it's too early to stress about it, but I'm starting the spinning babies inversions just in case. Also, exercise ball talk reminds me that now is probably the time to switch my office chair for the ball. Encouraging better posture and all. Non-work task of the week is rug shopping for the nursery and DS's new room now that we've replaced the carpet with wood. So many choices! It's totally too early to worry but when's your recheck? If it were me and the baby was still breech after 34 weeks I'd add in chiro work, someone Webster certified.

Midwife appointment and a massage happened today! Went to a prenatal massage place that had this awesome waterbed table and it was all warm and cozy and amazing! Baby seems to enjoy jabbing me in the cervix/butt with it's head every once in a while, uncool baby, uncool.
Cleaned out and organized a bunch of cupboards while DD napped. DH is on his way home and when DD wakes up we are heading to the ILs for a BBQ!

Just ordered myself a ton of new clothes for post partum! I absolutely hate spending the money on myself, but I want to feel better about how I look after this baby is born. 2 pairs of jeans, 7 undies, 1 bra($$$), 1 sweater, 10 shirts, 4 nursing tanks, and $200 later... On a related note, both AE and Old Navy are having good deals! I can't wait to do this for myself. I have plans to really treat myself to a new wardrobe as my Christmas present

Not to give anyone anxiety or anything but...
I was curious at what week most doctors wouldn't stop labor if it started, and Google tells me 34-35 weeks (depending on doctor of course).
GUYS. THAT'S NEXT WEEK.

But will def keep chiro work in mind if this baby is uncooperative.

Thank you guys. I just needed to let it out (and probably go to bed early tonight). She really does seem ok but I'm a terrible judge of what to do in these situations and a little overwhelmed with everything. You all are the best. cythe I am totally having H blow the exercise ball up tomorrow when he takes off. I never even thought about it for the prepregnancy stuff! I also will completely second what rebeccabunch and everyone else said - they make the best cranky baby bouncers. It was vital part of DDs sleep routine for the first 4 months. arimaythea glad your H is ok but sorry about the car. These are not the kind of stressors we need this late in the game! @gamer duskymonkey sorry about the cold - ugh. Pregnancy colds and congestion are the worst! Hope you recover soon! August Blooms - FX for your Hs job. This would be nice news to start these final weeks of pregnancy!!! curmudgeon here's to hoping the hurricane doesn't ruin any vacation plans!! gamergirl DD and I are MickeyDs on the way home from our crazy morning... and I'm not working out this evening. I'm just so impressed with you all who keep on excersing throughout pregnancy. Hope Zumba was fun!

Right there with all of you whose kids require a food to be intact for it to be edible. Only occasionally does my "but now you have TWO cheese sticks instead of one!" reasoning work.

I did a very scientific Google search and scanned results from babycenter, whattoexpect and thebump. So yeah, lol

He's been head down for a while but unless he sticks a foot/hand out, I can't be sure which way he's facing.

Oh, I'm firmly in camp "what body part is this?". I think I had a foot sticking out of my side this evening and her hiccups were not in my vag like usual, so I think she's transverse right now.
She's normally head down though, as evident by the hiccups.

THAT'S NEXT WEEK. I actually get relieved when this time comes. I've had a good number of pre term deliveries with people close to me, one friend at 28 and another 32 and a friend with twins at 31 so I get less anxious when I start getting closer to the safety zone. Just putting a positive spin on it for you!
