Not much here. It's a nice cool day--high is only 69! A walk is definitely on the agenda. And some cleaning. My dad is coming over tomorrow to spend the weekend with us. I have to get the spare room organized, the sheets washed, and just tidy up a bit around here.

Morning! L finally had a decent nights sleep! Not much happening today, just work and the gym. H and I got into an argument yesterday; the typical stuff we fight about always - kids, money, projects not getting done around the house, uneven responsibilities, not seeing the other pov, etc. Every few months stuff just bubbles up, we fight, we talk and move on until the next fight. He was working yesterday and it's weird to talk things through over text, so we've basically been having one word text conversations since yesterday and it's annoying me. I guess we will be hashing that out after bedtime which isn't great since we're both usually spent by the end of the night. He's working again tomorrow so who knows when we will talk.

Morning all! I've been so absent! We are leaving my parents today and heading to the ILs. Wish us luck. And then home by sat night. And, today is our 4 yr anniversary! Will be a decade together next month! It's crazy how fast time flies. We went for a drink the other night and actually had a good conversation. My H is the type to avoid serious talks and make jokes so it was nice to have a reevaluation of where our relationship is and where we want it to go.
Hope everyone is enjoying the end of summer!! I'll be back in full swing in a few days.

Jealous of your cool weather waitwhat! It's still hot as balls here. But we might get hit by a tropical depression over the weekend so that'll cool us off I hope. Sorry about the fighting tjanca22. Happy anniversary hangry!!

So, I have this cat chair that I sit in at Lillian's art desk. Today it broke and stabbed me in the butt in 3 places! Not too deep, but enough to draw blood. It still stings quite a bit.
The Ls are getting better slowly, but now Lilah is getting at least one more tooth and she's been a bear. And she doesn't want me to feed her. I think the spoon hurts? We are still quarantined so it sucks. At least Lillian is having a better day today than yesterday.
I'm so excited for rain! It's been so hot and dry lately. When is fall again? Cannot get here fast enough.
I feel like I can't keep up here as much lately. Even being home this week I keep getting so far behind I just can't catch up. It's sad.

It's been a nice week for us too waitwhat! This time of year is always bittersweet because I love fall but I hate the summer ending. I'm sorry tjanca22. That would be hard to try to talk through things with that type of schedule. Hope it's not too bad tonight. Happy anniversary hangry!! That does not sound pleasant classymrsa!

tjanca22 This happens to us sometimes too just from being so busy. It feels so pointless by the second day but then sometimes whatever thing isn't resolved but I just don't have the interest or energy to devote to it. Le sigh. hangry Happy Anniversary !!! classymrsa Oh no hopefully there's no bruise, that'd be painful ok your bum! Well at least I'm glad to hear also are feeling a little better. waitwhat It's gorgeous here today also, I think a high of mid70s. I'm getting excited for Fall and the first half of Winter. Although I could do without February through early April in New England. The most pointless. We have gorgeous seasons otherwise and then Feb and March just ruin things with their coldness and gray and dirty snow.

Ouch classymrsa! Sorry about the fight tjanca22. Your H sounds a lot like mine. Mine is really stubborn so he rarely apologizes. We fight, he pretends it didn't happen and we move on until the next one. It's exhausting. Happy anniversary hangry! +1 to loving fall goldenlove.

Nothing exciting going on here today. I'm trying to schedule an appointment with parks and rec to see the farmhouse that I want to rent for C's birthday. He said he'll call back on Monday. I can't believe we're only 2 months away from his birthday party.
Speaking of birthdays, I have two parties for one years olds this weekend. Anyone have good suggestions for a one year old boy?

Just at the office. This week has been nuts but I killed it earlier in the week so I'm hoping to kick back at my desk today and maybe do some personal stuff mixed in with less urgent work stuff.
We went to my brother/uncle/cousin/friends softball game last night. Normally we have a 6:30 bedtime in the house but I'm getting exhausted with the "prisoner in my house" feeling bc it takes two of us and their sleep is so unpredictable so I said "F" it and we went to the game which didn't end until 7:30ish. There was cake for my nephews birthday and helping hands to carry super pleasant non crying babies. It was a good night !
Edit spelling

Thanks everyone. Sounds like H might get mandated to work tonight which means we wouldn't see him until Saturday morning. This always happens and then we just don't work through the issues and move on like our fight didn't happen, sigh. Adulting is annoying!

kleigh yes to hating feb-April. It's when winter just drags out. We get a random 50 degree day and think it's finally spring then get a huge storm dumping 6 inches on us and back to winter we go. Then it rains and all the snow turns black and it gets muddy. It's gross.

Morning ladies. I'm just home from Costco. Gonna pack up and head to my friends camper this evening. goldenlove you could do books, the large lego blocks or other stackable type toys, those wooden puzzles with the big pieces (Melissa and Doug is a nive bramd for these). Trying to think back but it was a few years ago since C was 1.

Sorry about the fight tjanca22. MH and I are really bad about not talking things through after an argument. It's annoying. Happy anniversary hangry!! Sorry about your bottom classymrsa. I hope it doesn't hurt for too long! goldenlove, melissa and doug puzzles are great! Target has them and similar ones. Stacking blocks are good too. I think we got DS1 megablocks for his 1st birthday.

kleigh, that's great that you guys were able to get out of the house as a family for an evening! I've found that when I need to push back bedtime it works much better if we're out and about with people around. Did they go down easy when you guys got home?

goldenlove the M&D wooden puzzles everyone suggested are great! E will still play with our bathtub basketball set that was suggested. My other suggestion would be books like these that have sound, E loved the ones we got for his first birthday.

Not sure I'll be making it home Saturday because of this hurricane. Awesome. I take it your family is hunkering down? It seems to be a mixed crowd this time among my friends and family. I can't believe it's a cat 3 now although the lack weather to move it on land is more concerning to me. I am guessing it's going to be tough to get home Saturday too :/. Hoping everyone stays safe and you get home quickly.

Explain this logic to me (at the drive thru)...
A bacon, egg, and cheese is $0.99.
The grilled cheese I just ordered is $3.99
Um. Can I have a bacon, egg, and cheese. Hold the bacon. Hold the egg. And can you put it on bread instead of a roll?

DH had a short day today--which isn't the norm but was super nice coming off his 3-week trip--so we took advantage of the pretty weather and took the kids to the park. It barely hit 80 today and temps are predicted south of that for the next week. Lovely! Toto, we aren't in FL anymore.

Thank you for all the tags yesterday! O was super good at the ENT. I liked the doctor. He said we need to do something about the repeated EIs. Options are "preventative antibiotics" for 8 months or tubes. Honestly at this point I'm leaning toward tubes. They have a 90% success rate of never getting another ear infection. And he's already had 1 surgery. The tubes surgery does not seem like nearly as much of a big deal.

My dad needs a blood transfusion and he has a UTI. He's disoriented and hallucinating.
I'm staying with him tonight but shit I thought the worst was over.
