I'm 5'6" and my sister is 5'10". Do you know how much thinner I would look if I didn't have these massive hips on this short body?! Harumph. [br Lol at 5'6 being short. I'm barely 5'1 and MH is maybe 5'7? Our boys don't stand a chance. Oh, and I, too, am all hips on this tiny frame. I mean, I know I'm average height but I'm the shortest in my family. Pete's Mom was 4'10" and his Dad is 5'8" If the kids are tall it's all from the tubby Irish side.

tgrimes why aren't they sending him to Acute Rehab? Is it because he's too disoriented to participate in therapies?

tgrimes was he disoriented during the day? Has the Dr said what could be causing.it? He was disoriented around 7:30 this morning. The rest of the day he was better. He read the paper, did well in therapy, ate real good. Then all of a sudden he was hallucinating again. My sister and I went home to make freezer meals and get some stuff down from the attic for my dad, like his walker & potty chair. When we got back we found out he needs a blood transfusion and he does have a UTI.

I'm just seeing this news about the storm in TX. Is this affecting any of you? Hope everyone is safe! Yes, I think it's supposed to stall out over us for a couple days. I'm concerned about getting home Saturday and flooding. You know, because I need more things to worry about right now. LOL!

tgrimes why aren't they sending him to Acute Rehab? Is it because he's too disoriented to participate in therapies? We discussed it today. The therapist recommended acute therapy over the skilled nursing facility. Problem is, his insurance only covers 7 days of acute rehab and then he'd have to go home. He can't go from acute rehab to skilled nursing. Insurance covers 21 days of skilled nursing but the therapy is only an hour every day, where acute rehab is 3 hours. We're waiting till his therapy appt tomorrow to see how he does to make the decision.

All the talk about kids sizes & clothes. I have no idea what size E will be come winter. He had finally grown into 4t shorts but I fear he will need long and skinny for winter. He hated the sinched button pants so I'll probably just end up with more sweatpants. On that topic, target has a gender neutral line. It's mostly black, white, and grey.

tgrimes Sunny41 is right. With older people utis can cause disorientation. I hope that is what it is and antibiotics help. I hope he is able to get the therapy he needs.

Yeah, a nurse on N16 told me to ask them to check for a UTI yesterday because of his fever and disorientation. They were already in the process of running the labs when we asked. It comes in waves though. Wouldn't it be a little more consistent if it was caused by the UTI?

J is still in some 3t shorts, but was in 4t pants last year and I've bought all 5t pants for this year. It's hard to predict. We are still in the elastic stage of life...I bought 6 pairs of Carter's sweat pants joggers and the cat and jack jersey waist (elastic) jeans and some osh kosh blue chinos that have a discreet stretchy waist. Maybe next year we can do goat front pants! Granted I don't really care, be comfy kid. Oh and we got the plae shoes on sale! I am a little worried they may be too small by fall, but he really liked them when they arrived.

The hotel called that they need to change our room because of fire alarm issues. We are being comped 2 nights and we get 3 bonus fast passes for every single day left on our trip! We are moving 2 rooms down. Thats great!

peachsmama and nam2013 I'll sit on your bench. Ryland is still in 3T and every once in awhile something 2t sneaks in and it's not ridiculously small. He's by far the smallest of the three boys so far.... but he also is the most challenging (stubborn, hardheaded, tantrums) of the three, so he makes up for it! Lord, yes. Small but mighty.

Her mom has dementia and when she starts leaving the house in the middle of the night to "go home" they know to take her in for labs. Like clockwork, she has a UTI.

tgrimes I'm sorry that your dad is having a rough time, and also sorry that your mom is being....your mom. The caretaker role is tough. And it takes a patient and compassionate person to do it well. My MIL also had the UTI issues that caused her to be more confused/hallucinate etc. She had dementia as it was, but when it got especially bad, she would end up in the hospital with severe UTI every time.

I am on FB, but I got them from Nordstrom, so I'll just take them back. Their return policy is the best...I returned some winter boots we didn't wear 11 months after I bought them recently since there wasn't enough snow to need them this year.
