We are seeing a pediatric dentist about T's lip tie this morning. I'm nervous but also excited as it may really help him. But what if it doesn't? Ugh.
Someone hold me.
I'm also exhausted because he didn't sleep because he was so gassy. So probably extra emotional. Fun times.

We had both girls tongue and lip ties clipped with a laser. I hope it helps!

We did Ps tongue when she was a week or so old. It's quick and easy. More later.

We had both z and w's tongue ties clipped. W was 3 months, z was 9. It was definitely a huge help for both of them. W's was quick and easy in office and he was better immediately. Z's was done with her tubes and required stitches, so it took longer to get over it, but did make her switch to the cup.
It helped both so much and I wish someone had checked for them when we were nursing. I thought it was just supposed to hurt like that, since they just gave me a nipple shield.

All done. They did his lip and a posterior tongue tie as well as buckle (sp?) ties in the cheek. It was about 5 minutes and they used the laser. He nursed right after and fell asleep.
And didn't spit up after eating for the first time ever. So I have high hopes it will be helpful.

brandiewine11, it made a huge difference for W because his latch was so much better. He got so much less air and spit up less.

Glad it went fast, and the first feeding went well. Hoping for you too it helps in the long run!
Anecdote: L had her tongue tie clipped at 2 days old and two sessions with a craniosacral therapist at 1 week and 2 weeks. She bf for 28 months and is now almost 3 years old with no speech issues. I was more concerned about her future speech than the BF at the time.
