So we're still in NC but L has something going on. He's been clingy all day and he had a fever of 100.7. He won't stay asleep. I'm not even trying to put him down and he'll wake up after 10 minutes or so! He's obviously over-tired now but I don't know what to do. I gave him Tylenol 3 hours ago and the fever broke but he still won't stay asleep. I thought teething but now that the fever broke, he seems gassy!?!
I'm miles from home in a house full of people and I can't get him to stay asleep. I just want to go home!

I'm so sorry hun. Only thing worse than a sick baby is a sick baby when you aren't in your own home. I hope it's short-lived and you get some sleep.

I'm sorry Cheshie6. I hope you got him to sleep. That's definitely tough when you're not home.

Poor L Cheshie6! I hope you can get some sleep. Can you dose him with ibuprofen?

Poor L. I was thinking teething. And maybe that's why he keeps waking up. I hope he finds relief soon. Hang in there!

I'm so sorry Cheshie6, that sounds hellish. Are you close enough to a drugstore or supermarket that you can pick up motrin? Tylenol gives M really bad stomach pain and gas too. Maybe a trip to an urgent care would be worth it to rule out an ear infection?

Thanks, he finally went down at 4am... the only thing that kept him mostly calm is having Disney junior on!?! I usually have it on as background noise at home.
Could this be about being in a strange place? He hasn't been sleeping right since being here... waking up and staying up for ours at night (which he rarely did at home) mixed with teething or something?
FFTC I have to pee but am afraid to get up!

Cheshie6 definitely. I finally realized that M's worst nights are when she's been somewhere unusual, especially when strangers are up in her face. She still will go to sleep, but will literally cling to me like a baby koala. If I leave she knows instantly. Combine that with teething? Sheww, game over. Also, Mickey Mouse clubhouse is my secret weapon too. Just hearing Mickey's voice immediately changes her mood. For a few minutes at least. 😂

I'm thinking EI. Is he snotty at all? Cheshie6 this. I would just for peace of mind still go get him checked out. After I posted I remembered that L is normally a great sleeper (right?). So, I can definitely relate to you but this is way off his norm whereas my girl is a shit sleeper even on a good night.

See if you can find a pediatric urgent care facility around you that's covered by your insurance.
At least for peace of mind.

tgrimes, not more than normal! He usually has some. The plan is to see how he's doing today... if he still has a fever, etc but the closest urgent care is in network.

FFTC I have to pee but am afraid to get up! It could this is happening here with C. He isn't sleeping anywhere but my arms the last few weeks in a hotel and looking back he has slept terribly every time we aren't at home. So I would say it's definitely a possible factor, now it won't give them a fever. I would stack Tylenol and ibuprofen at night and see if that helps some sleep.

I'm sorry, Cheshie6. Agree with others' advice...it's amazing how a different place with new sounds, etc. can throw little ones for such a loop, especially coupled with teething or another issue. I hope you both can get some rest today. And no judgement here on the Disney jr front! MMCH has been a lifesaver numerous times in our household.
