If you want to discuss any of those fics or even just swoon over their greatness I am game pianolove I blew through five already, like no lie I was up reading My Scars until 1am last night. The dick bombing crackfic had me dyingggggg "enjoy my glory!" I am just blown.away. by the level of masterpiece writing. Even the shorter ones, like the Steve/Darcy tumblr one, were just so brilliantly written, and that writer was very in tune with connecting Steve with modern technology. very well done. I'm seeing a "Bucky has something to do with young Tony" trend and I am 100% here for it. One of the scenes that I think will always stick with me is when Howard Stark drove his car off a cliff and Bucky was the only one who could really comfort Tony. The descriptions and emotions in that scene were beautiful, and Tony was written perfectly I think. And you totally made me ship Bucky/Amanda Newbury from Scars. I fucking loved that one and I am sooooo not an OC person. I could talk about that one for days! Literally the amount of research that went into that one, gunshot wounds, fight scenes, virology, sciency shit. I'm onto the next Tales from the Tower, that one is a Clint/Nat. My "Saved for later" folder is like a million pages long haha |

So I’m currently reading Isolation on FanFiction.net and I’m liking the change from my typical Draco is a changed man and Hermione falls for him. They can’t stand each other and it’s really true to their relationship in the books.

I stayed up all night reading the first story in this series last night. A very different take on Darcy, basically Thor and Jane leave her behind after the Accords and Darcy think she can only depend on herself so she becomes a badass with the help of the spy-sassins. Not to brag but my bookmarks are only the best and most of the authors I have read a ton of their other work. My Scars is one of my personal favorites, I might have to reread, which I have been doing with several of the fics I have shared, its been fun to re-experience them. I am a big fan of of the tumblr one too and the imagery in it is amazing and the ending was so fun! I havent found any more Bucky raises Tony fics but I might go on the hunt. It was a great read and very believable, I may have teared up when Howard asked Bucky to protect Tony. My saved for later folder is embarrassing in its length and gets more added to it everyday. But seriously bless that option on AO3, otherwise I would have even more tabs open than I already do. (Which is a fuck ton) I really do recommend the Bucky gets found by the Commandos one soon, so beautiful. |

This is one of my new favorites just found and finished it a few days ago. Its a Darcy/Cap with a very politically savy Darcy and her mad PR skills. When an accidental meeting between two strangers is blown way out of proportions Darcy Lewis finds herself in the middle of a media onslaught that proclaims her to be “Captain America’s super cute ordinary lady love”. The problem however: She barely knows the man and what she sees of him doesn’t really leave her with a favourable opinion. So while the press quickly finds the perfect couple nickname for them and has them practically married in seven different ways till Sunday, she’s still trying not the slap the guy. I took a quick look at some of the other stories and she has so many good ideas. mischief I did read the one where Bucky was saved by the Commandos, i put it as one of my top 5 fics I've ever read. For real, it was so well done and I loved the young Clint Barton. I appreciated how superbly realistic the father/son dynamic between Howard and Tony was written, Tony as this kid who just wants his father's affection but is afraid to show him that he improved Howard's arc reactor, etc

I'm a real Bucky/Darcy fan (even though she's totally the fandom bicycle haha) I love Darcy with so many people, I love that she is developed just enough, not that I wouldnt love for her to actually show up in movies again. But she yes I read so many stories with her. Mostly Bucky, Steve, or Loki because I can see how she fits with all three differently. And her story can go so many ways. I am reading one where she is kidnapped by Hydra and Bucky finds her and they go on a revenge spree whilst trying to evade the Avengers and then another one where she runs into Bucky and they eat pancakes together and one where her and Steve go under cover because she is a legit Agent now. Just so much versatility. And my other favorite Trope is where she is Tony Starks daughter because hello endless possibilities and just so much fun. |

TBH I wasn't a fan at first because I dislike Kat Denning as an actress. But I started reading fics and I like her character in print much more than onscreen. I do think they left her developed enough that she can be attributed the spunky take-charge attitude that is afforded to all the Mary Sues of the world without it being cheesy, because that actually is her personality and that's why I like her wiTh Bucky. It's the "opposites attract" model with potential to flesh out really deep seated emotional issues. And she works with Steve because she can match his enthusiasm and pick him up when he fatigues, and a link between him and the modern world. I haven't gotten to any Darcy/Loki, I'm still working down the list you gave me! I do really like the Tony Stark Father Figure, sort of like what MCU built with Spider-Man. This is one I have sitting on the sidelines until its finished, I got a few chapters in and knew I wouldnt be able to take the suspense, so even if it takes a decade Ill wait for it to finish. lol I just did that with a Darcy/Loki one, started reading in 2014 and she just posted the last chapter a few weeks ago. But it was so good. |

The writer basically nails all the emotions that would come with that scenario, plus the added complication of Steve/Sharon. There's another layer of "when she left, we all lost someone" that I don't really see much in fics, that when something dramatic happens to a character, the entire team/family/friend group/what have you is affected, not just the main protagonist. I really appreciate the realism in it. |
