I like snape/hermione some, though I am really a dramione shipper at heart. #anyonebutron I used to ship hermione/Charlie really hard, and Fremione (I refuse to read any fic that has Fred's death in it). But yeah...anyone but Ron. |

I have never read fanfic (other than 50 Shades) How do you know what's good and what's not? I can imagine there's a lot of really crappy stuff floating around I like to start with a big archive like ao3 where you can filter results. Then I sort by comments or bookmarks. The more people that have commented or bookmarked it, the better the story usually is. Also, just googling [insert show/fandom name here] fic recs will lead you to lots of rec lists by other people. |

I just reread a fantastic HP fanfic. Debt of Time. Hermione, Sirius, Remus. SOOOOOOO amazing and well written. Like an entire book. And it fixed a lot of issues I had with the originals. I have been reading for two days now and have been staying up way past normal sleeping hours. I have never read any HP fan fic before.I guess I am a purist so I have held off. No  My brother has the entire series and I've thought about borrowing them, but I never got around to it. It seems like something I would love so I think it will make my summer reading list. |

An excellent Hunger games Series: The End of the World This is pretty close to canon compliant in various characters POVs. Starts with Haymitch's games and moves forward from there. It's a beast, but so worth it. |

I know a massive amount of amazing HP fan fiction, all kinds of ships. I also know a few good Phantom of the Opera ones. For HP, I ship Snape/Hermione pretty hard, but have read some amazing other pairings. I like snape/hermione some, though I am really a dramione shipper at heart. Do you (or anyone else here) have any good AU dramione fic recs? |

@wesleycrusher , dramione fics I love: Nightmares and Nocturnes This is a WIP but it's excellent. Voldemort won the war and Draco stumbles upon Hermione being kept in a Death Eater prison. Isolation This is a Draco defects to the Order fic. Hermione is his keeper as he hides out at Hogwarts. Love follows. Beautiful things can come from the dark This one is dark. And trigger-y. Starts with a sexual assault. Cruel and Beautiful world - This is a Voldemort wins fic. It's excellent, and unfortunately got pulled down from FF.net when the author decided to alter it and publish it as it's own story. It's in the attached zip file. Hermione is a slave in the new world order, until she escapes. Summer of the Dragon Same Author as previous, but a lot less dark. Draco and Hermione connect while working together for Ollivander. There's a sequel too. Crimson with a Silver Lining Another Voldemort won fic. Hermione sells herself to save the life of Harry and Ginny's daughter. Stasis An 8th year fic. WIP. I'm not sure when the author will get back to it, but you still need to read it. Hermione is left behind at Hogwarts when her friends go off and join the ministry. She feels like she's fallen into a holding pattern. There are a ton more, but this is a good starting list. |

+1 to Twilight fanfic. A lot of it was so much better than the novels themselves. I'd need to be on a computer to link though. I'll come back.
Also Hunger Games, some Inception, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars (so much Veronica Mars).

I'm so glad I stumbled across this thread! I used to read so much fanfiction. The first one that pops into my head is the HP Resonance/Revolution/Resolution trilogy. It's an extremely well written Snape adopts Harry fic. I've read through the series probably 5 or 6 times. It's become canon in my head. |
