I had somehow forgotten about the sleep nursing bras. I pulled them out over the weekend, and they are glorious. I need to get more of them, and some regular nursing bras. I'm interested in the eclipse, but I'm not planning to adjust my schedule or try to make pinhole cameras or anything. I'll just watch the NASA live stream. mommabakes, how exactly does one end up having a bridal shower after being married for 4 years? caitost21, rebeccabunch, Everything my H does right now annoys the crap out of me. And I know I'm an a-hole a lot of the time. This is normal. rebeccabunch, yay for poop on the potty! We're still struggling with that part. Also, DS got distracted while he was peeing yesterday and somehow managed to pee all over the bathroom and his face. So that happened. To go along with my all pregnancy underwear all the time confession, I wear sleep nursing bras, the sports bra type Bravado Brand from Target, anytime I'm in my house since DS1 was born. Never stopped even when I'm not nursing. You can tell I'm really trying to seduce H over here with my undergarment choices.

blackmamba , In the midst of my tossing and turning last night I was like "I cant wait to pop this kid out and sleep in normal positions again!!" Then I remembered what a pain in the ass sleeping with nursing boobs is like and got sad again. I'm a stomach sleeper I need to find my sleep nursing bras. They were comfy, but I still woke up with clogs most of the time

britt, need a link to that underwear! rebeccabunch, better here with the poop news than facebook or pics on ig. rachydc, I LIVE for ticker change Fridays. Especially this late in the game. caitost21, DD loves taking pictures so we let her have the camera during the doctor's appointment. Now when she scrolls through the photos she points and says 'mama, doctor!' Is YH going? Maybe he can help explain what's going on.

We are at 87% totality here, I think. Like others, I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary. I MAY step outside but that's it.
We had a busy weekend. Saturday we went to the air show and finished some house projects we've been putting off for, um, years. Yesterday we had a 5-year-old's birthday party in the far, far, far burbs so we spent the entire day out there. Which was fine. ILs live out there and they are out of town so we used their pool and ordered take-out for dinner before driving home at bedtime. Thankfully DD passed out immediately and easily transferred when we got home.

rebeccabunch Congrats on the poop! DD did one yesterday, we are at PT day 2.5 and so far just that one poop and only one small accident today. rachydc DD got nervous and upset when I went to Sephora with her and they used there magic machine on my face to get my skin tone. mommabakes What? Unless there is some sort of super special snowflake situation I'm totally side eyeing the idea of having a shower 4 years later. Happy birthday to your DS!

He loves pictures so I'll bring one for him to take his own. That and the iPad

Guys the eclipse has started here. There's a little 'bite' out of the sun. I wasn't sure how neat it would be to see, but it is pretty cool. I keep popping out on the deck with my solar glasses. I'm excited to see how dark it gets since we're over 99%.

First official day at preschool today. Poor DS, he seemed apprehensive today and gripped my hands and seemed afraid today which wasn't like last Wednesday 😢😩. So far no calls from school and today I came straight home and got my pizza dough going for tonight. Will need to run out in a bit to go fetch him. Hopefully he won't be shy enough to let his teachers know he needs to go potty. Oh well. It's a change and he'll need some adjustment which is to be expected. re: eclipse, I might go take a quick peek in a little bit but don't have glasses or anything. We're close to Wyoming so will have about 90% coverage? Haven't been following. I remember when I was a kid back home we had an eclipse but I can't remember if it was partial or total and my dad smoked a piece of glass so we could watch it without burning our retinas out. Real fanceh!

CoachTsWife The eclipse that I experience as a kid it got dark like it was dusk, almost night time. It's just about to start here. I'm going to take a nap, and set my alarm for an hour from now to check out how dark it's going to get. duskymonkey FX for a good first day of preschool for your little guy.

britt I bought some last pregnancy and wasn't impressed. Where did you get yours? CoachTsWife They were showing on the news some areas where it will be totality and it's crazy the amount of people showing up to experience it, I don't blame you for staying home. Motherhood maternity.. they were on sale actually , 3 for 7.50 .. I bought them a little bigger then I would normally for comfort and because I knew I'd still be growing .. also two of the pairs I have have like a little band on the top that I can fold over!!

I'm excited to see how dark it gets since we're over 99%. I'm in the 98-99% totality range and it didn't get too dark. Mostly, everything looked muted and it got chilly. But still pretty cool to see with the glasses! I have some neat pictures of the shadows because I wasn't able to procure any glasses myself.

This is probably SO not related but anyone in the path of totality feel the baby move extra at the time? We are only 90% but I swear gravity felt weird or something for a couple minutes. My SIL is an L & D nurse at a very prestigious hospital here ( chitownsully probably where you deliver) and she said they absolutely have higher delivery rates during large storms, full moons etc. I'm going to ask her if this caused a baby rush!

86% was a bit underwhelming. We had some clouds cover, which actually made things better (for me) because I didn't get glasses or anything so when the sun passed over the dark part of the clouds, you couod actually glance up and see it.
Would not recommend an eclipse without the glasses if you plan to look at the sun, lol. Not blind though!

Rama it got dim and eerie outside and I could hear crickets (typical summer evening sounds here). The house got pretty dark, though! I tried to take pictures to document the difference in how light it was but I think my phone is too smart and tried to brighten up the pics. I can still definitely tell a difference in the pics, but they don't do it justice. Some said the street lights came on but I didn't look to see if they did at our house. rebeccabunch baby was quite active leading up to and during the 99% we got here. The thought crossed my mind, because of hearing about maternity units getting full during full moon, etc. It is over here and baby has settled back down. Coincidence? IDK....

My phone brightened things up, too, the stinker. But when we walked from a sunny patch to the shade, it got very noticeably darker! It was kinda weird and cool. Our campus looked like early evening and some of the lights did come on, too. But only for a few minutes during the period of most totality.

The eclipse was pretty cool, but not life changing.
I am also more irritable with DH and the world around me lately.
However, I'm making Ghirardelli brownies, and that will make everything better.

Ghirardelli mix does make the best lactation brownies if anyone needs them in coming months though.

Our weird eclipse moment was that DS woke up crying from his nap exactly when we hit peak eclipse coverage. My mom was able to get him back to sleep but the timing of that was just so weird. He has blackout curtains and the lighting outside didn't change much really since we weren't in a 100% totality zone.

cythe I went to the chiropractor this morning too, I feel so much better. Going back Wednesday because it has been much too long and pregnancy just aggravates already existing back/hip injuries and I'm all out of whack. I also have a prenatal massage on Thursday, trying to fix myself this week! I'm about 1/2 done cleaning the house, taking a Netflix break and then back to cleaning before DD wakes up.

Last time for lactation my LC made me take the motherlove supplements. The store was always out of the pills, so I got the drops. They were the most god-awful tasting things imaginable. I need brownies in my life!
