We have a 2BR house, so for the foreseeable future M is sharing our room. I need to put a little divider up between our bed and hers, preferably one that will block some sound- like MH's alarm clock and just general getting into bed at night/up in the morning. I'm attaching a very fancy drawing that I made to show how the room is laid out, so you can kind of see the scale. MH's side of the bed is the furthest from the crib. She does have a sound machine that we use every night, but it's not on super loud. Do you think any of these types of options that I'm attaching will work to block some sound? I'm kind of leaning toward the ikea cube wall because I think that will block some sound? Any other suggestions? We were originally going to try turn our room into 2 this fall but I'm not ready to move her out of our room yet so we're holding off until at least the spring, maybe later.

Or, I have a garment rack on wheels that I'm not using that I could make a curtain for. Which would be cheap. But I don't think fabric will do much for sound?

If you are looking for cheap the clothes rack could work but you would need a heavy fabric (think velvet) to help reduce the sound. But I'm guessing that the rack isn't super tall, so it wouldn't block that much.
Out of the options you posted, I agree with IKEA cube shelf. But you would have to have cubes in all to maximize sound protection.
Growing up my parents had a huge bookcase (floor to ceiling) in our living room that acted as a wall to my dad's home office. It was filled with books and muffled quite a bit of the noise from both directions.

We are looking for similar solutions for our guest room. IKEA has a ceiling mounted curtain room divider that looks cool. I think it would block sound since it's all the way around? I have not looked at it in person yet but seems to be a heavier fabric.

I like the Ikea cubby wall. We shared our room with E for a year and I wish we had rearranged our furniture so we could do something like that.

I like the look of the IKEA cube wall, obviously make sure it's bolted to wall or something.
I would probably put a cube basket in each cube and then stuff the baskets with spare blankets/towels to make it block more sound. Maybe that's not even a thing lol.

Ikea also has curtain room dividers. Let me see if I can find them. They mount to the ceiling. Found it. These mounting brackets can be arranged different ways.

I actually need a storage solution for our extra bedding and blankets anyway, so this would kill two birds. And big yes to bolting to the wall!

Without knowing the full layout if your room, I also suggest turning your bed so the length of it goes along the 24' wall. It will help to move yg further away from "her room".

I cannot do this happily and sleep with my spouse in my bed. I do not like having to crawl over someone, or be crawled over.

Oh, see, I took this as putting the bed parallel to the long wall, rather than actually touching the wall. So, centering on the short wall to the left of the door.

I meant this, for clarity. Knowing where windows go and if you have dressers is also helpful for space planning. I like laying stuff out on paper and cutting things out to scale to move around.

That would be amazing if our bed fit over there, but our room has 4 windows with huge chunky trim so it really limits us. Basically there is a window at the top of where you have the bed, and another window directly across from the end of the bed on the 24' wall without the door. And the (king) bed sticks out too far if we move it on the other side of the window near the wall with the door. However, maybe having the bed in front of the window would be tolerable for a year.. That would make things much easier. Yeah. Duh. mimsy I'd like to give you a large virtual hug. And also a high five.

Guys I'm so excited to move my bed and get this going. MH came home from work today and was amazed that I hadn't torn the room apart already, because I have zero chill once I get excited and ready to do something. But, the AC is in that window for a couple more weeks at least so I have to wait to pull that out before I can move the bed. But we're going to Ikea on Saturday to get the cube system and inserts. No chill.

Agreed that having the bed in front of the window awkwardly for this time period is totally worth it! Yay for solutions!
