It's been a while since we've had a randoms thread. What is everyone up to this weekend? Anyone making preparations to see the solar eclipse on Monday? No burning eyes out of course...

Our weekend started off well. DS had a birthday party for one of his school friends, and it was a toddler cooking class. The kids all got dressed up in aprons and chef hats, and they made/decorated their own cupcakes. It was so much fun and everyone looked adorable in their little chef outfits. It was also quite chaotic, but that is just par for the course with toddler parties I think 😀
I'm on the other side of the world for the solar eclipse, but it sounds interesting! I'll watch a YouTube video of it or something to see what it's like.

It's been an interesting week. I had to get some work done on my car and after we picked it up yesterday, we went to do food shopping and then DH's car wouldn't start. I'm just thankful we already had my car back and had ended up driving both to the store so we could just stick everything in my car and go home.
DS definitely enjoyed his birthday! Sometimes I remind him he just had a birthday because he thinks he's still 2 sometimes and he'll say "fire truck cake and balloons!" I love that he's starting to remember things like that.

Taitai A toddler cooking class sounds like the cutest thing ever! Knowing how easily distracted DS is, I can imagine the chaos of that multiplied by several kids.

We had basketball this morning and now I'm done for the day! LBB is making dinner tonight and then DH is taking him to see Into the Woods. I may bring him to a friend's to swim this afternoon.
Tomorrow we have no plans, so I think we're going to take the kids to the racetrack to watch the horses.

Hello! I have not been around since the initial move over here. I am going to try and get back to posting some. Our weekend is busy, we are out running errands now, and I am in the car with my sleeping DD. Later DH and I have a date night! Then tomorrow a bounce house birthday party.
My work is hosting a solar eclipse viewing, and live broadcast viewing, so I will probably go to that. The kids are too young, so daycare is going to have them watching a live broadcast on tv. We will not get to see totallity here.

We had a busy day, DS learned how to catch a ball today during ball time at gymnastics! Then we had some friends come over this afternoon. Their little girl is just five days younger than DS and he calls her his "best friend." Watching them play is adorable... and exhausting when they forget friends share, lol.

I had a busy day at work yesterday and then came home to paint. I FINALLY finished my porch and am happy about that. It has been so long and hard to do with this rain nearly every day this summer.
Today we slept in a little (sad that 6:52 is sleeping in), watched some cartoons and then I cleaned and made some cinnamon raisin bagels. We are playing in the backyard for a bit and then I am continuing my painting inside and making a summer vegetable stew for dinner. I also put a few things to sell on Kijiji since I need to get rid of a bunch of baby and little kid stuff. I hope people buy it quickly!

We went to a Thomas the train event on Friday that DS loved, but wiped out H and I. Yesterday H and I had a day date of shopping and lunch. I went for a run this morning and it felt good to get out and do that, as I haven't gone for a run in longer than I care to admit. Spending the rest of the afternoon either in the backyard or at a neighbourhood playground.

billmurray The Thomas event sounds like fun! DS is obsessed with trains - Thomas in particular. The toddler cooking class birthday party we attended this weekend was Thomas themed, and they had a Thomas cake and train tables set up. It was cute! They also played the Thomas song on repeat for a while, so now that has been in my head the past two days....lovely....😂😩 ETA: words

Hi! My weekend was long and too short. Yesterday we were out doing errands. Today was supposed to be our fun day. Instead we went to Ikea to buy a day bed for MIL. It turns into a full bed. Ikea is not as fun as before two kids. Dh is on hr 3 of assembling. I'm helping read directions, do chores and watch the boys. I feel my age tonight. My back, stomach and head all ache.

I wanted to watch the eclipse. I'll be at work and we're at 87%. Hoping work puts the tv on a broadcast of it. Maybe I'll buy chocolate "eclipse" donuts for my team.
