I have an OB appt this morning and I'm really glad because last night I realized I hadn't felt the baby moving in a while. I think I might have felt it this morning but either way I will be glad to mention it to the midwife and hopefully she is helpful.
Today I got a babysitter to go to the consignment sale. That's reasonable, right? DNW a toddler in a consignment sale.
I found a super pretty restoration hardware metal crib in antique white on the fb yardsale site. So H is picking that up after work. Yay. It means we can keep DD in her current crib and just convert it to a toddler bed when the time comes instead of a completely new bed which hopefully will was the transition.
My brother, sil, and neice and nephew (6 and 8yo) are visiting this weekend. They haven't visited since we moved and I have this odd need to impress them. Sibling rivalry is a bitch and never really goes away. Anyway I'm excited to have them!

Good morning! G has speech therapy and her teacher this morning. I have to work for two hours and then we will hopefully have a play date this afternoon. I am waiting to hear back from my friend to see if she wants to hang out. My living room has toys everywhere. I just don't care today. My kitchen and dining room are clean and that's all that matters to me right now.

Howdy!
It's muggy and rainy and gloomy here today. I need coffee really, really bad. I'll probably run out in a couple hours once the other admin gets in for some coffee because...I am really dragging.
Need to do normal home things tonight like wash and grocery shopping... So that's fun. I need my H to finish the sunroom so I can have my house back!
Next weekend is my best friends sons baptism so I'll have to make sure all my school work is done over the week so I can bake something to take with me for the reception. Thankfully I am going to WFH on Wed to run out to a consignment fair during the day and Thursday I'm off to volunteer at said consignment fair. Since I'm only volunteering four hours I'm going to use the rest of the day to do my schoolwork.
*yawn*

Ladies who are pt... How old are your LOs? My DD will be 2 at Thanksgiving and I'm struggling with when to start. She had some interest and now has none at all to go on the potty.

My daughter was 2 at the beginning of June and we aren't serious about it yet. She's interested, so if she wants to use it she will, or sometimes we let her go naked in the afternoon and sometimes she remembers and sometimes she doesn't. My son was a little over 2.5 when he first showed interest and he picked it up full time right away. So I'm kind of new to the back and forth some days ready, some days not at all haha. She is still a bit younger than he was though. It would be super cool if she was trained before baby came and we had some diaper free time for the first time in over 4 years before starting again, but I'm also kind of 🤷🏼♀️ about when she'll actually want to focus on it.

Today is a day at home to get cleaned up and organized and packed. We are leaving tomorrow to go visit my brother and sister for the rest of the weekend so that will be nice!
Have a good one!

N was showing interest before 2, but no way was she remotely close to being ready. Every kid is different though!

Good luck at your appointment benandjerrysLast night was the best night's sleep I've gotten in over a month. Daycare offered to watch DS some Fridays now that school is starting so I sent him this morning so I can be prepared for classes next week. I'm also waiting by the phone because I missed a call from the OB office late yesterday afternoon. It was very weird because they didn't leave a message. Maybe they had the results of my scan already? Or need to schedule another?? Doctors always leave a quick message... WTF.

G was 2 in may and we are not even close to potty training. I sit her on the toilet before bed to get her used to it. She has peed on it a total of 4 times in like 2 months. I am not super concerned yet. After 3 is when I will worry more. I would love for it to happen now but I am not going to force it before she is ready.

My appt was ehhh. It took forever to find the hb. I was so worried and I think the midwife was too. She finally found it and it was in the 140s, but it has been in the 150s or 160s. She said that was normal?
Also she is concerned I'm not gaining enough weight and wants me to eat more protein. She said I might have to start with growth scans. Anyone have any experience?
And she wants me to go to mfm for my ultrasound instead of their office because DD had a heart defect at birth.
I feel like my last pregnancy every appt was so easy. Pee, hb, done. No concerns no problems. I know it could be worse but I'm still uncomfortable.

I think we woke the baby up! www.countdownmypregnancy.com/pregnancy/heartbeat.php

All this PT talk is timely bc we are starting DS2 tomorrow!
DS1 did so well. He was just 3, we really committed and he had the personality for the 3 day don't look back plan.
DS2 will be 3 is a few months but we need to train for his little ore pre school. He's going to be harder. I'll let you guys know how it goes!

DD turned 2 about a month ago. Her schedule has been all over the place this summer so we plan to start when she gets back into her routine at school right after Labor day. She has gone in her little potty a few times so if she isn't ready then we will probably wait a little longer. Ideally I would like her to be trained by the end of December before my RCS.

sunfrogger we tried not to push PT at all, we made a little potty accessible to her starting at age 2 and asked her to sit on it before bath. Around April or May (she turns 3 next week so 2.75ish years?) she woke up one day and said "momma I want to wear underpants today!" It took her a good 2-3 weeks to get the hang of pooping on the potty but all in all was very very easy.

Does anyone use a belly support band? I have never had one but am wondering if it might make me more comfortable. Recommend yours if you like it!

I'm going to try to be productive and work on crafts I have half finished, but we'll see what gets done...

Hey there. I'm home sick. I am achy all over, exhausted and have a low grade fever. I called the OB when they opened. The nurse called me back to get more info and I haven't heard back at all. I don't know what's going on but I feel unwell. ...Like the day before you get a bad virus or the flu. I hope the OB will get back to me soon.

I tried to use one last pregnancy for work since I'm a nurse and am on my feet for hours at a time. It was awful and so uncomfortable. I don't remember what brand I got, but it was completely useless

We've been having a lazy day so far. We've been snuggling and watching lots of tv. DD slept in till 730 today, but I can't seem to muster up any energy to do anything productive. Maybe once she goes down for nap I'll have more energy to do something.

sweetsurprise I'm so sorry you're sick! I hope you get feeling better soon! I taught barre this morning. After DS's nap we are meeting a friend and her daughter for a play date at a play museum. We haven't been to this one yet and I've heard it's awesome so I'm excited.

Also, a big WTF to Papaginos. They messed up my salad. I ordered a crispy chicken salad and add shredded cheddar cheese with honey mustard dressing. All it was was lettuce, chicken, and cheese 😑 None of the other veggies that were supposed to come with it were on it. I'm not happy.

Recent Oh Crap, Potty Train reader- please help!
I can't find my copy. Does anyone remember how often they say to put your kid on the potty to just try?
I remember most stuff but forgot this part. Why did I wait so long to find my book...

I was sick earlier in my pregnancy and I forgot how much worse you feel. I hope you are able to lay down and just rest. Tylenol didn't always completely wipe my fever but putting something frozen on my forehead/back of neck helped just in case your fever escalates.

How harmful are paint fumes? I just got through painting half of DD's big girl bed before I remembered that I'm KU and that paint fumes might not be good for me to be around

Well great news and frustrating news. I had a feeling this was going to happen too.... We got the results from our cell free DNA test and baby is healthy and low risk all around, which is wonderful news. However, I was waiting for the nurse to continue before she was about to hang up I asked about finding out the sex. she didn't have it on her sheet and said she would call back. Ok. I get a call and super excited to answer, well apparently the lab tech decided to check the "opt-out" box.... um, WTF, maybe ASK before checking? The tech was in from their other office and wasn't the best phlebotomist either. I'm ticked, not at the office or nurses, but at that tech. Its obviously not the end of the world, but thats a big co-pay I'm going to have and not get all the details expected. The nurse is trying to track it down with the lab and see if they don't have it (which they should) if they can still run it. But of course the doc closes at 1:30 on Fridays so I have to wait until next week. Sigh. I was hoping to get the news for my birthday tomorrow so we could tell our son. Just so disappointed. whomp whomp.

DS was around 2.5, he was in daycare and in order to move up to the 3s class he had to be PTd. The DC he was in helped work with him though, even though I didn't want to push him. It was a lot of peer pressure though since he wanted to move up to be with his friends so that helped.
